Terrific art direction, animation and fight choreography make this series one of the best entries in the Star Wars franchise since Andor. Glad to see ol' horny head is back.

Great characters, Animation, and duels, the story prompt is one that is admitidly overused in the star wars franchise, which is post order 66 Jedi being hunted, but they do this very well in the story and it is overall a great show to watch

Gotta admit, I really liked the first season of Shadow Lord. It was the first hope I've had for Star Wars in a very long time.

A solid show that I found quite gripping, yet hard to stick with at times. While not necessarily something that grabs you tightly, Maul: Shadow Lord is often compelling, and does a great job of exploring the grey area between the wide moral line that the Jedi and Sith stand on either side of. As expected, Sam Witwer's performance is full of raw emotion and vitriol - perfect for a character like Maul. The supporting cast also does a bang-up job, and makes the side stories presented within the show interesting enough to stand alongside the main one. Where I think this show falters is in its overall struggle to weave everything together, and keep the whole thing as interesting as I wish it was. I'd say that of all the Star Wars media I've seen over the years, this might be my favourite. It stands above the Clone Wars, Andor, the sequel trilogy, and just about everything else I've seen or heard about. Having said that, I think the show could be even better - still, what it does is quite good, and undoubtedly worthy of merit. It is good to see people as passionate about the franchise as Sam Witwer and Dave Filoni create something that manages to break through the fatigue that myself (and I'm sure many others) feel with respect to Star Wars.

Visuellement, c'est magnifique. On a de super plans, des personnages attachants, de très belles scènes de combat. Hélas, Hélas, de gros défauts. Des gimmicks reviennent en boucle : Maul détruit le plafond 3x au moins, Lawson Senior dit au moins 5x à Lawson Jr qu'il faut qu'il parte sans lui pour se sacrifier, Devon frôle 15000000x le côté obscur. Un truc que je reproche à beaucoup de Star Wars (presque tous après la prelogie), c'est qu'on ressent aucune gravité. Les mobs meurent à la pelle quand il y a besoin, on sait déjà qui va y passer le prochain. Ça manque de létalité. Purée on a quand même de sacrés guests (je spoile pas), ça devrait tuer en un coup ! faire des étincelles! Mais ce problème est lié au fait que ça se bastonne constamment ! Pas un seul épisode sans 10 min de remplissage. C'est joli, rythmé mais ça fait mal à la tête et les enjeux sont quasi nuls ! Finalement, même si j'ai eu l'impression que la première partie de la série allait très vite, la seconde est frénétique mais plutôt plate. C'est dommage, je trouve certaines scènes vraiment badasses, j'aurais voulu rêver plus : voir Maul exploser de puissance (dans la caverne, il aurait pu se sentir dans son élément), voir Devon lancer des éclairs lors du combat final, voir le guest final être intouchable, une machine à tuer. Donc c'est pas mal, surtout pour un fan, mais c'est toujours pas à la hauteur. Ps : qu'est-ce que vous avez avec les filles padawans twileks un peu rebelles mdr ? Entre Ashoka, Devon (et un peu Mission dans Kotor), ça commence à être redondant...

An amazing show. I’ve been waiting for something that focuses on Maul for a long time. Even though the series branches out in different directions, there are moments that genuinely add more to his character. I just wish that side of it had been given more focus, but the show clearly had different priorities.I’m honestly getting tired of Star Wars stories built around the whole master-and-apprentice dynamic. I wish they would tone it down a bit, because that kind of relationship is starting to repeat itself in almost every movie and show. Unfortunately, the new film already seems to be heading in the same **** putting all that aside, the show is incredible. The colors and direction are, to me, some of the best in the entire franchise, and Sam Witwer is easily one of the best voice actors I’ve ever heard.

I don't think stories of the worst of society is illustrative of much that is positive. I never liked Maul and his story doesn't interest me at all. He was a bit thug and lacks interest. Thus, the entire show is a waste of time and isn't worth the Star Wars label. Our view is: "don't waste your time on this trash since there's so much else to watch."

Maul continúa siendo un personaje fascinante gracias a la mezcla de odio, obsesión y vacío emocional que lo define. Cada escena centrada en él tiene **** embargo, la historia no siempre mantiene el mismo nivel. Algunas subtramas se sienten innecesarias y el ritmo pierde fuerza en varios episodios, especialmente cuando la serie se enfoca más en expandir el lore que en desarrollar el conflicto **** con sus problemas, sigue siendo una propuesta entretenida para fans del personaje y una mirada interesante al lado más roto y violento de Star Wars.

Magnifique Bravo Si vous pensiez tout savoir sur l'ancien Apprenti Sith, préparez-vous à une véritable claque. Maul: Shadow Lord ne se contente pas de remplir les blancs de la chronologie ; il redéfinit la menace que représente Maul avec une intensité viscérale.

Watched Maul:Shadow Lord loved it was a slow burn Tech Noir/Neo -Noir taking inspiration from Anime 1995's Ghost In The Shell ,Akira and Cyberpunk Edgerunners it was very cyberpunk-esque as Janix is that also amazing dynamic between Maul and Devon, Witwer and Aldon brought also amazing performances from the mentor types Moura contiuned from his epic performance From Puss In Boots:The Last Wish as Captain Lawson basically a Deckard/K Type of character and a better version of Syril Karn from Andor also cool seeing Haysbert reprise his role as Daki many speculate his from The High Republic Era also a great Jedi Mentor in the vein of Old Ben Kenobi as well Yoda From the Original Trilogy Loved the series didnt pull any punches also a forray into Star Wars adult animation which was awesome . Also The action is very calculated as well John Wick-Esque even with Lightsabers. I think Star Wars is fine post-Andor . Maul is the Most Iconic Villains along With Vader . Maul S01 started a bit slow but the last 4 episodes were amazing. The story is intriguing but I wouldn't say it reveals a lot of things. I like that Maul is a silent guy at times. Great fights. Always that very fun Clones Wars look, in terms of graphics and animation. Maul is not a hero however, he is just a tragic villain. So, this is for adults more then for kids. Great score and sounds. I give it 80%, mainly because it started a bit strangely.

'Maul: Shadow Lord' surprised with a mature story that not only brought back this beloved character but also showed him in a vulnerable and fearful light. The supporting characters are solid, but the standout is Devon, a young Jedi torn between anger and temperance. Also noteworthy is the fantastic animation, which simulates a paintbrush, giving the series a unique style.

Excellent art style, excellent pacing, excellent twist and excellent character development. The action sequences are the best part by far.

Maul – Shadow Lord season 1 is not perfect, but it's also not too far from it. The characters are well-written, especially our favourite anti-hero protagonist, Maul. Formerly Darth, now just Maul. I always loved him as a villain, but I never expected to shed tears for him, which I did in episode 8. The hierarchy of the quality of the new characters is not what I expected. Jedi are usually written to be dogmatic and boring, while citizens are usually who I find more interesting. Here it was the other way around. I adore both Devon and Master Daki. Spybot and Vario were the ones whose lines were hit or miss. The Lawsons are a stereotypical dad-son duo, but their dynamic worked for me, especially in the last couple of episodes. Speaking of those, after episode 8, it was peak Star Wars animation. Like up there with Jedi Knight, The Phantom Apprentice or Victory and Death. The animation is just out of this world, the brush strokes on the already amazing animation style is something I didn't know I needed but worked perfectly. The sound design is as good as it gets on TV. The scene where Devon is looking for Maul in the dark is just one example of why this deserved to be mastered in Dolby Atmos. The cast is more famous than most Star Wars animation productions, but there were voices missed. The voice acting is phenomenal; I will rave about Sam Witwer's Maul whenever I can. Maul – Shadow Lord season 1 is peak Star Wars animation.

It seemed like just another quirky project within the franchise, but it quickly makes it clear that it wants to be more than that. And it **** series embraces a darker tone and delivers one of the most beautiful visual styles ever seen in Star Wars, with stylized 3D animation that looks almost hand-painted at times. It’s the kind of visual style that not only impresses but also helps build Maul’s own **** when the action kicks in, there’s no doubt about it. The combat scenes are intense, well-choreographed, and carry the weight the character has always **** what’s most interesting is how all of this is accompanied by a greater confidence in the narrative, deepening the character without losing **** the end, it’s not just another animated film. It’s a clear sign that this side of the franchise still has a lot to offer—and now at a much higher standard.

Intense du début à la fin la série touche à plein de thème différent je recommande, il faut aussi souligner quand Disney fait de bonne chose !!!

Is it too much to ask that the show called “Maul” has Darth Maul as the main character? I am watching characters I do not care about do things I’ve seen before and dialogue that is lackluster. The show is stunningly animated; props to the art team.

Incredibly boring. It was really dull to watch even the first episode. Absolutely uninteresting story that didn't resonate with me even for a bit.

This show is exactly what we all needed. It has a gritty tone, great lightsaber choreography, and beautiful animation. Would highly recommend watching.

Take Clone Wars, make it beautiful, add a little of that 'Andor' grit & there you have Maul Shadow Lord. Star wars fans are all so divisive, "too much of X", "should have been Y", if you're one of those, there's no winning. But clone wars fans; we get more of the same with far better visuals, style, animation, audio, sound tracks, voice acting & a solid serious story without skimping on the combat that the prequel era made truly great, while following one of the coolest characters. TL;DR - Clone Wars, but even better.

Star Wars tends to divide the Fandom. I am a fan who loves all of it, I take it for what it is, a rich universe with great movies and series. Maul - Shadow Lord is top tier story telling, two episodes in and it has already grabbed me. Stunning animation, great voice acting. I can't wait to see where the series takes us.
