Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu7
May 27, 2026
Watched The Mandalorian And Grogu, the third installment of the anthology films and first Star Wars movie in Seven years. featuring Pedro Pascal(Game of Thrones,Kingsman:The Golden Circle) ,Brendan Wayne and Lateef Crowder as Din Djarin , Grogu as Himself , Steve Blum(Cowboy Bebop, Star Wars Rebels) as Garazeb Orelios, Jeremy Allen White(The Bear )as Rotta The Hutt , Oscar -Nominee Sigourney Weaver(Aliens, Avatar) as Colonel Ward, ,Dave Filoni(Ahsoka, Maul- Shadow Lord) as Trapper Wolf ,Jonny Coyne(The Hangover Part III) as Lord Janu Coin, Paul Syung Lee(Kims Convience,Ahsoka) as Carson Teva , Martin Scorsese (The Departed) As Hugo Durant,Donald Mills as Embo , Hanky Madera(Raised By Wolves) as Commander Barro. The Mandalorian & Grogu is a masterclass in tactile, pulpy Star Wars action and a fantastic appetizer for the 2026 cinematic slate. The film treats its weaponry and combat with a grounded weight; these aren't weightless laser pointers. Din Djarin operates with a calculated, heavy-hitting precision akin to John Wick or Andor, cementing his status as a top-tier, non-Force-sensitive warrior who easily outclasses any New Republic or Imperial Remnant soldier. He is a bounty hunter and agent guided by a strict moral compass, put entirely through the ringer alongside Grogu, who handles the film's lighter, comedic, and deeply heartfelt beats. Adding sci-fi icon Sigourney Weaver as Colonel Ward only elevates the gravity of the sandbox. However, the film isn't without its flaws. The hyper-direct narrative can occasionally feel thin, and the uneven pacing notably lets its foot off the gas toward the final act. Furthermore, while Din is spectacular to watch, he suffers from a flat character arc reminiscent of Han Solo in Return of the Jedi—heavy on competence, light on internal evolution.Ultimately, it proves once again that the standalone Star Wars projects have a far firmer grasp on the franchise’s identity than the Sequel Trilogy ever did. It’s uneven, but it’s pure, sincere fun. Star Wars is back.. Fantastic Cinematography by David Klein, ,Costume Design By Mary Zophres(Cowboys & Aliens) ,Producing By Dave Filoni(Avatar:The Last Airbender) , Oscar Winning Composer Ludwig Gorranson(Sinners) and Direction By Jon Favreau(Iron Man,The Jungle Book) Star Wars Spinoffs Contiune to be On Point 7.9/10

The Anime Beauty And The Beast RemakeWatched Belle with Actress/Singer Kylie McNeill as Suzu/Belle, Paul Castro Jr. As Kei/Dragon , Bentley Griffin as Tomo/Angel , Jessica DiCicco as Hiro-Chan,Manny Jacinto as Shinobu ,Hunter Schafer as Ruka and Chace Crawford as **** film is a modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast. While not without its flaws, it stands out as a powerful and emotional experience. Kylie McNeill delivers an amazing vocal performance as Suzu/Belle, bringing depth and authenticity to the character. The world of U and its portrayal of pop artists remains highly relevant today, especially in the digital age. Once again, Mamoru Hosoda showcases his talent with visually stunning storytelling. I'm already looking forward to his next feature, Scarlet, due out this winter. 8/10.

Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi8
May 21, 2026
Watched one favorite third acts Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi .Starring Mark Hamill(Britannia Hospital) as Luke Skywalker, Harrison Ford(Blade Runner) as Han Solo ,Carrie Fisher(The Blues Brothers) as Leia Organa, Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca, Jermey Bulloch(George & Mildred) as Boba Fett, Billy Dee Williams(Colt .45 ) as Lando Calrrission, Anthony Daniels (Bashki's Lord Of The Rings) as C- 3PO, Kenny Baker(Flash Gordon) as R2-D2 Denis Lawson(Bitter Cherry) as Wedge Antilles, Dermot Crowley(Giro Ciy) as General Madine , Caroline Blakiston(Les Miserables) as Mon Mothma, Tim Rose(Just William) & Erik Bauersfield as Admiral Ackbar, Michael Pennington(Cymbeline) as Moff Jerjerrod ,Kenneth Colley (Firefox) as Admiral Piett ,Frank Oz(The Muppet Movie) as Yoda, , David Prowse(Doctor Who) & James Earl Jones(Conan The Barbarian) as Darth Vader ,Ian McDiarmid(A Performance Of Macbeth) as Emporer Palpatine/Darth Sidious and Sir Alec Guinness(The Bridge On The River Kwai) as Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi,. As the final chapter of my favorite movie trilogy, Return of the Jedi delivers a high-octane action adventure that ranks right alongside The Return of the King and The Last Crusade as one of Hollywood's premier trillogy closers. It is a deeply satisfying, rock-solid finale that opens with the chilling imagery of Vader's shuttle arriving at the incomplete Death Star II.What cements the film's greatness is how it handles Luke Skywalker's destiny. Watching him step into his role as a fully realized Jedi Knight to face the ultimate psychological trap laid by the Emperor and Darth Vader is pure storytelling magic. The final throne room confrontation features an extraordinary emotional conflict and a lightsaber duel that easily rivals the legendary Bespin clash for the best in the trilogy. Simultaneously, the film unleashes the absolute pinnacle of space combat, with a redeemed Lando Calrissian and Admiral Ackbar leading a breathtaking, high-stakes final assault on the Imperial **** all its triumphs, the film does stumble over several narrative hurdles. Luke’s multi-phase plan at Jabba’s palace makes very little tactical sense on rewatch. Furthermore, Han and Leia operate as a simplified strike team whose main narrative purpose is to finally declare their love. Finally, the Ewoks winning the ground war creates a bizarre tonal disconnect. If you told a hardened rebel leader like Luthen Rael that the ultimate downfall of the Empire’s war machine would come down to stone-age forest dwellers, he wouldn't believe you. Yet, when the Millennium Falcon flies into that superstructure and Luke saves his father's soul, the film's flaws completely melt away under the weight of its brilliant ending.]]

Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back8
May 21, 2026
Watched one my favorite sequels, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back . The Cast Was Stellar With Mark Hamill(Corvette Summer) as Luke Skywalker, Harrison Ford(Indiana Jones and The Raiders Of The Lost Ark) as Han Solo ,The Lovely Carrie Fisher() as Leia Organa, Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca, Jeremy Bulloch(The Spy Who Loved Me) & Temura Morrison(Spartacus) as Boba Fett, Billy Dee Williams(Colt .45 ) as Lando Calrissian, Anthony Daniels (Bashki's Lord Of The Rings) as C-3PO, Kenny Baker(Willow) as R2- D2 ,Denis Lawson as Wedge Antilles,Bruce Boa(Superman:The Movie) as General Rieekan ,Michael Sheard(The Hiding Place) as Admiral Ozzel, Julian Glover(Anthony and Cleopatra) as General Veers , Kenneth Colley (Life Of Brian) as Admiral Piett ,Frank Oz(The Blues Brothers) as Yoda, , David Prowse(A Clockwork Orange) & James Earl Jones(Root) as Darth Vader ,Ian McDiarmid(Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) as Emporer Palpatine/Darth Sidious and Sir Alec Guinness(Lawrence Of Arabia) as Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi. Widely and rightfully regarded as the pinnacle of the franchise, The Empire Strikes Back is the brilliant center chapter of my favorite movie trilogy. It is the gold standard for how to construct a middle chapter, transforming the blockbuster sequel into a dark, essential bridge act. The film opens with the jaw-dropping snow warfare of the Battle of Hoth—a sequence that must have completely shocked 1980 audiences by putting the Rebels on a desperate, defensive back foot. This chapter also marks a historic milestone for representation in the galaxy by introducing Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian. His suave, morally grey performance laid the groundwork for future vital Black leads like Mace Windu, Saw Gerrera, and Greef Karga. Narratively, everything tracks beautifully toward Cloud City, delivering the saga's most atmospheric lightsaber duel and its most legendary **** modern standards, the film does suffer from a few narrative loose ends. The split-timeline conundrum almost requires a belief in sci-fi time dilation to make Luke’s training schedule align with the Millennium Falcon’s journey. Additionally, Lucas's clunky handling of the Luke/Leia/Han love triangle—symbolized by that deeply awkward kiss—shows a clear lack of forward planning. However, these minor structural flaws do nothing to diminish the pure, high-octane magic of this undefeated sci-fi classic. Fantastic Cinematography By Peter Suschitzky(Valentino) Production Design By Norman Reynolds(Superman II) ,Amazing Writing By Lawrence Kasdan(Body Heat) ,Direction Irvin Kershner(SPYS), Fantastic Costume design from John Mollo(Alien) and Amazing Score from John Williams(Close Encounters With The Third Kind)A Daring Chapter That Anchors My Favorite Trilogy 8/10

Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope8
May 21, 2026
Watched my favorite Movie of All time Star Wars: A New Hope which in My opinion is The Greatest Movie of All time. The Cast Was Stellar With Mark Hamill(Wizards) as Luke Skywalker, Harrison Ford(American Graffiti) as Han Solo ,The Lovely Carrie Fisher(Shampoo) as Leia Organa, Newcomer Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca,Anthony Daniels (Baski's Lord Of The Rings) as C-3PO, Kenny Baker(Time Bandits) as R2-D2 ,Phil Brown(The Martian Chronicles) as Owen Lars, Shelagh Fraser(A Family At War) as Beru Lars, Alex McCrindle(The Private Life Of Sherlock Holmes) as General Dodonna,Garrick Hagon(Some Kind Of Hero) as Biggs Darkligher, Denis Lawson as Wedge Antilles , David Prowse(Doctor Who) & James Earl Jones(The Lion King) as Darth Vader ,Peter Cushing(The Curse Of Frankenstein) as Gran Moff Wilhuf Tarkin and Sir Alec Guinness(The Bridge Over The River Kwai, Lawrence Of Arabia) as Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi. George Lucas’s 1977 masterpiece remains my personal, all-time favorite film and the definitive pinnacle of the saga. It is anchored by one of the greatest visual introductions in film history: the Star Destroyer chasing down the Rebel blockade runner. From that first frame, it is a brilliant piece of world-building that effortlessly balances high-octane adventure with deeply compelling **** film's structural brilliance lies in its character dynamics. Princess Leia **** the "damsel" trope, setting a fierce blueprint for future icons like Ripley, Sarah Connor, and Jyn Erso by taking charge of her own rescue. Han and Chewie bring a wonderful grease-stained, underworld grit to the narrative, while Alec Guinness’s majestic wizard archetype elevates the mythic stakes. Equally brilliant is the villainous hierarchy: Tarkin rules through cold, non-action bureaucratic tyranny—harkening back to Charles Laughton's Captain Bligh and classic British cinematic villains like Vandamm from North by Northwest—while Vader operates as his terrifying physical **** today’s storytelling standards, the slow-burn pacing of the desert opening can feel a bit sluggish, and the black-and-white morality lacks modern grey complexity. However, any minor narrative drag is entirely erased by the climax. The Death Star assault and trench run remain the absolute pinnacle of cinematic battles—a tense, claustrophobic, and perfectly paced masterclass in action filmmaking that cements this as the greatest movie ever made in my book .Fantastic Cinematography By Gilbert Taylor(MacBeth), Production Design By John Barry(Superman:The Movie) ,Amazing Writing/Direction George Lucas(THX-1138), Fantastic Costume design from John Mollo(Outland) and Amazing Score from John Williams(Jaws) The Definitive Star Wars Masterpiece and My All-Time Favorite Film 8/10

Solo: A Star Wars Story6
May 21, 2026
I ultimately had a lot of fun with Solo. While it’s not as good as Rogue One, it is still better than the sequels. This younger version of Han has a different energy than the seasoned smuggler we know from A New Hope, but it gives him great room to grow. Chewbacca also receives some fantastic development here, which adds a lot of depth to his character before the events of the original trilogy. The rest of the cast holds their own as well. Seeing the Millennium Falcon under Lando’s ownership was a blast, and Donald Glover delivers a great performance, playing a slightly bigger "loser" version of the character than the smoother gambler we see later on. Emilia Clarke also turns in a rock-solid performance as Qi'ra, proving she can command the screen outside of Game of Thrones. On the downside, L3 was pretty annoying, as her droid rebellion message felt a tad overbearing at times. Atmospherically, I absolutely loved that the movie leans into a gritty, Western aesthetic more than previous films. The story is on point, even if it is a bit predictable and some of the major beats are telegraphed early on. My only major technical issue was with the cinematography, which looks incredibly murky in several sequences. Overall, Solo is a fun ride, but looking at the rest of 2018, Ready Player One remains my favorite movie of the year so far, and I’m still way more excited for Mission: Impossible - Fallout

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story8
Aug 28, 2024
Watched Rogue One : A Star Wars Story which begins the spin-offs at Lucasfilm and Adding to the mythos to the very large mytho's of the Star Wars Universe. The Cast Was Stellar With Newcomers Diego Luna(Elysium,Milk) as Cassian Andor , Oscar Nominee Felicity Jones(The Theory Of Everything,Doctor Who) as Jyn Erso ,Riz Ahmed(Nightcrawler,Jason Bourne) as Bodhi Rook , Donnie Yen(Ip Man Trilogy,Crouching Tiger,Hidden Dragon:Sword Of Destiny) as Chirrut Imwe , Alan Tudyk(Serenity,I Robot) as K- 2S0 , Wen Jiang(Gone With Bullets) as Baze Malbus, Mads Mikkelson(Casino Royale,Doctor Strange) As Galen Erso,, Warwick Davis(The Chronicles Of Narnia:Prince Caspian) as Weeteef Cyubee , Nick Kellington as Bistan, Derek Arnold as Pao ,,Valene Kane(The Fall) as Lyra Erso, Oscar Winner Forest Whitaker(The Last King Of Scotland) as Saw Gerrera , Genevive O'Reilly(The Legend Of Tarzan) as Mon Mothma, Ben Mendolshon(The Dark Knight Rises,Slow West) as Director Orson Krennic the films main villain , Jonahan Aris(The Martian) as Senator Jebel, ,Ingivild Deila(Avengers Age Of Ultron) as Princess Leia ,Guy Henry(V For Vendetta ) as Grand Moff Tarkin ,Spencer Wilding(Game Of Thrones) & James Earl Jones(The Lion King ) as Darth Vader. As a spin-off, this film successfully branched out from the main Saga movies, and I actually didn't mind that it used an opening style similar to The Clone Wars TV series. Once again, the characters here were absolutely fantastic. Cassian Andor was my hands-down favorite, played excellently by Diego Luna. Felicity Jones did great as Jyn, creating a thoroughly believable female protagonist who felt like a female Han Solo—so much so that many fans ironically speculated she might actually be Jaina Solo before the movie came out. Her performance puts Jyn right on par with iconic leads like Leia from the original trilogy, Padmé from the prequels, and Ahsoka. Riz Ahmed was also excellent as Bodhi Rook; as a simple cargo pilot who was just completely tired of the Empire, his defection felt incredibly grounded, and I honestly feel his character arc was better executed than Finn's storyline. Alan Tudyk was also lovable as K-2SO, and Ben Mendelsohn’s Krennic made for a great villain. He was the perfect middle-management type of antagonist, joining the ranks of classic, non-action baddies like Walter Donovan or René Belloq where, ironically just like with Tarkin, you almost find yourself rooting for him. He also looked incredible with that striking Death Trooper entourage protecting him. Krennic's relationship with Galen Erso added a deeply tragic layer to the plot; Mads Mikkelsen played a genuine nice guy for once, which was incredibly refreshing, and while it was a decent-sized part, his character truly drove the narrative forward.I also loved all the easter eggs and surprise cameos from everyone, plus the fact that it ties into Rebels so well—it's clear that people like Kiri Hart were highly aware of the broader universe. Most of all, I loved how it interwove so seamlessly with A New Hope, making it my favorite film outside of the original trilogy and the perfect companion piece to the originals. I do have two critiques, however: the film takes a while to get going, though it absolutely pays off in the end, and the deepfake versions of Tarkin and Leia can feel a bit off at times. Still, it stands as an incredible entry in the franchise—easily the best of modern Star Wars from Disney and Lucasfilm.Fantastic Cinematography by Greig Fraser(Zero Dark Thirty), Producing By Kathleen Kennedy(Star Wars:The Force Awakens),Production Design By Doug Chiang(The Phantom Menace) & Neil Lamont(The Avengers),Costume Design By Newcomers David Crossman & Glyn Dillion , Screenplay By Gary Whitta(Star Wars Rebels), Chris Weitz(Cinderella) & Tony Gilroy(The Bourne Trilogy) , Amazing Score from Composer from Michael Giacchino(Star Trek Beyond) and Direction By Gareth Edwards (Godzilla), definitely one of my favorite movies ever Best Of Modern Star Wars From Disney /Lucasfilm 8/10

An incredible adaptation of Andy Weir’s work. Lord and Miller prove once again why they are masters of tone, blending the technical "hard sci-fi" elements with a deeply emotional survival **** chemistry between Ryan Gosling and Sandra Hüller (Ortiz) is the highlight, making the "buddy dynamic" feel earned and authentic. Akira8
Mar 6, 2026
Watched Akira with Mitsuo Iwata / Johnny Young Bosch as Shotaro Kaneda , Nozomu Sasaki/ Joshua Seth as Tetsuo Sima, Mami Koyama/Wendee Lei as Kei , Taro Ishida/ Jamieson Price as Colonel Shikshima ,Mizuho Suzuki/Simon Prescott as Dr.Onishi. While I enjoyed this film quite a bit, I personally prefer Ghost in the Shell for its more introspective and character-driven approach. That said, Akira remains one of the most influential sci-fi films ever made, especially within the cyberpunk **** in 2019 in the dystopian sprawl of Neo-Tokyo, the film presents a world shaped by industry, government corruption, and dangerous human experimentation. At its core is the friendship between Shotaro Kaneda and Tetsuo Shima. Kaneda starts out as little more than a reckless street racer, but he ends up trying to save his childhood friend Tetsuo, who gradually becomes the film’s tragic antagonist as his psychic powers spiral out of **** film famously doesn’t pull any punches with its body horror, and its themes are surprisingly dense. It explores transhumanism, unethical experimentation, societal decay, youth rebellion, and the ongoing tension between science and religion—all wrapped inside a cyberpunk setting that feels incredibly **** world-building is phenomenal, and its influence is everywhere. Even modern sci-fi continues to reference it—most notably the iconic “Akira slide,” which has been homaged countless times and is even being referenced again in projects like Tron: ****’s easy to see why the film still resonates today and why it landed at #38 on Empire Magazine’s Top 50 Sci-Fi Films list. Nearly four decades later, its impact on animation, cyberpunk, and science fiction as a whole is undeniable. Music By Tsutomu Ohashi, Screenplay By Izo Hashimoto and Direction By Katsuhiro Otomo . A Kinetic Cyberpunk Masterpiece That Still Defines the Genre 8.5/10

It Came from Outer Space7
Jan 18, 2026
Watched It Came From Outer Space with Richard Carlson(Seminole) as John Putnam , Barbara Rush(When Worlds Collide) as Ellen Fields, Charles Drake (Harvey) as Sheriff Matt Warren ,Joe Sawyer (A Double Life) as Frank Dayton ,Russell Johnson(Loan Shark) as George ,Kathleen Hughes(For Men Only) as Jane, Alan Dexter(Okinawa) as Dave Loring, D , Robert Carson(Jungle Man) as Reporter Dugan,George Eldredge(Fury Of The Congo) as Dr.Snell. Opened 2026 with It Came from Outer Space, and I really appreciated how it portrays aliens as benevolent rather than monstrous. The score by Mancini, Stein, and Gertz is excellent, and the film stays true to Ray Bradbury’s core idea: humans fear what they don’t understand. For its time, it was strikingly progressive and highly influential. That said, it isn’t without flaws. Some of the effects feel dated and a bit clunky, and the alien reveal can come off as cheesy—largely due to studio interference from Universal. The leads, Putnam and Fields, are also somewhat underdeveloped, though this serves the story’s focus more than it hurts ****’s easy to see how this film influenced a young Steven Spielberg, especially in how it anticipates Close Encounters of the Third Kind. As a 1950s sci-fi film, it remains both forward-thinking and historically important. Music By Irving Gertz(Dragnet), Screenplay By Harry Essex(I The Jury) ,Cinematography By Clifford Stine(Born To Be Bad) and Direction By Jack Arnold (Girls In The Night) .a 1950s sci-fi film, it remains both forward-thinking and historically important. 7 /10

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery8
Dec 30, 2025
Watched Wake Up Dead Man : A Knives Out Mystery with Josh O'Connor(Challengers) as **** Dupletincy , Mila Kunis(Black Swan) as Chief Geraldine Scott, Jeremy Renner(Hawkeye) as Nat Sharp ,Andrew Scott(BBC Sherlock) as Lee Ross ,Kerry Washington(Django Unchained) as Vera Draven ,Caliee Spaeny(Alien Romulus) as Simone Vivane, Gho Daryl McCormack(Peaky Blnders) as Cy Draven, Thomas Haden Church(Spider-Man:No Way Home) as Samson Holt, Annie Hamilton(Between The Temples) as Grace Wicks, Josh Brolin(Dune Part Two) as Jefferson Wicks,Glenn Close(101 Dalmations, Guardiand Of The Galaxy) as Martha Delacroix and Daniel Craig(Casio Royale,Cowboys And Aliens) as Benoit Blanc. Wake Up Dead Man is a fittingly thoughtful and sincere capstone to the Knives Out trilogy. Every member of the cast brings their A-game, but Josh O’Connor is a standout, delivering a performance that feels both raw and deeply human. Glenn Close is predictably excellent, while Cailee Spaeny continues her strong streak after Priscilla, proving she’s becoming one of the most compelling actors of her generation.Josh Brolin’s Jefferson Wicks is especially fascinating—a rigid, Kent Hovind–style fundamentalist whose certainty and hypocrisy make his eventual unraveling genuinely satisfying. As someone who’s no longer a believer, I still appreciated how the film approached faith with nuance. While the Bible is contradictory, it undeniably contains messages about kindness and compassion, and the film allows space for that complexity rather than reducing belief to caricature.Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc remains a welcome skeptic, and I liked that his backstory is still kept deliberately vague. The recurring “noodle” metaphors continue to add texture and humor without feeling forced. What really stood out to me, though, was how sincere this entry feels—less cynical, more reflective, and genuinely interested in humanity’s capacity for empathy and **** the trilogy, this is Rian Johnson’s most spiritual, sincere, and profound film. It carries a real sense of finality, not just in wrapping up a mystery, but in what it has to say about people, belief, and compassion. A thoughtful and emotionally resonant conclusion to one of the best modern whodunit series .Music By Nathan Johnson(The Brothers Bloom), ,Cinematography By Steve Yedlin(The Last Jedi) and Direction By Rian Johnson(Looper, Knives Out) . Frankenstein8
Dec 29, 2025
Watched Gulliermo Del's Toros Frankenstein aka The Gothic Prometheus With Oscar Isaac(Ex Machina,Inside Llewyn Davis ) as Barron Victor Frankenstein, Jacob Elordi( Prsicilla) as The Creature " Adam" , Mia Goth(High Life) as Lady Harlannder Elizabeth , Christoph Waltz(Inglorius Basterds, Alita Battle Angel) as Henrich Harlannder .Lars Mikkelsen(BBC Sherlock, Ahsoka) as Captain Anderson , Charles Dance(Alien 3,Game Of Thrones) as Baron Leopold Frankenstein, Felix Kammerer(All Quiet On The Western Front) as William Frankenstein , David Bradley(Harry Potter And The Prisioner Of Azkaban) as Blind Man, h And Ralph Ineson(The Green Knight, Fantastic Four First Steps) as Proffessor Krempe. While not entirely faithful to Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel, this adaptation captures its essence—and that’s what matters most. Frankenstein helped usher in the modern era of science fiction; without it, we likely wouldn’t have the genre-spanning franchises or indie sci-fi stories we take for granted today. Even earlier works like Lucian’s A True Story paved the way, but Shelley’s novel crystallized the genre as we know it.Oscar Isaac is phenomenal as the mad scientist, bringing a level of emotional depth and internal conflict that many adaptations overlook. Jacob Elordi is equally strong as the Creature. His design—while resembling a more cobbled-together version of the Engineers from the Alien franchise—is a fun visual nod, especially considering they’re humanity’s creators in that universe. At the same time, it feels closer to the novel’s spirit than most modern portrayals. I especially appreciated how the film emphasizes the Creature’s attempt to understand itself and its place in the world.I’m aware Guillermo del Toro is openly anti-AI, but ironically this story reads as largely pro-AI—or at least pro-understanding. Ethically, concerns are absolutely warranted (as The Brutalist is a good example of use in The Arts ), but like the Creature itself, artificial intelligence shouldn’t be viewed purely as a monster. If anything, the film suggests that the real danger lies in our fear, neglect, and refusal to take responsibility for what we create. Great Music By Alexandre Desplat(Godzilla,Jurassic World) , Cinematography By Dan Laustsen(Nightmare Ally) , and Direction By Guillermo Del Toro(Pacific Rim,Hellboy II: The Golden Army). Avatar: Fire and Ash9
Dec 26, 2025
Watched Avatar: Fire And Ash With Oscar Winner Zoe Saldana (Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.3, Emilia Perez) as Neytiri, Sam Worthington( Terminator Salvation, Hacksaw Ridge) as Jake Sully , Britain Dalton(Dark Harvest ) as Lo'ak , Sigourney Weaver(Aliens, Ghostbusters) as Kirri .Bailey Bass(Interview With A Vampire) as Tsiryena , Trinity Jo-Li Bliss(A Really Haunted House) as Tuk, Jack Champion(Freaky Tales) as Spider , David Thewlis(Dragonheart,Harry Potter And The Prisioner Of Azkaban) as Peytlak, Joel David Moore (Dodgeball) as Norm Spellman. CCH Pounder(Justice League Unlimited, Godzilla:King Of The Monsters) as Mo'at , Stephen Lang(Sisu, Dont Breathe) as Miles Quaritch And Oona Chaplin(Game Of Thrones) as Varang. I really enjoyed this movie. While The Way of Water was only okay for me, this is what I wanted from the second chapter of the saga.Neteyam’s death looms over the entire film, giving it real emotional weight. The character arcs largely work: Kiri searching for her place in Eywa’s larger design, Jake confronting his PTSD while rebuilding his relationship with Lo’ak, and Neytiri slowly reckoning with her xenophobia. These arcs felt earned and sincere. That said, Quaritch and Varang absolutely steal the show. Their dynamic feels ripped straight out of a pulpy sci-fi “smut” novel—and yes, the film goes there. Watching Quaritch gradually go full Na’vi while Varang stands out as a genuinely refreshing, villainous Na’vi presence was compelling. Stephen Lang and Oona Chaplin fully commit and elevate every scene they’re ****, the story repeats familiar beats—but honestly, I didn’t mind. This is the structure I wanted, especially as it wraps up a trilogy. Like many films in 2025, this one feels sincere and confident in what it is. Despite the long runtime, I was never bored. Pandora remains stunning and immersive. This film isn’t trying to be an intellectual think piece—it’s operatic. It’s a classic, biblical sci-fi epic, closer in spirit to The Ten Commandments or Ben-Hur than modern franchise filmmaking. Just watching and letting it wash over you is enough; the film rewards patience.I also found this to be a far more satisfying conclusion than The Rise of Skywalker. I prefer this—and even the original Avatar—over The Way of Water. Easily one of the best Sci-Fi Entertainment of 2025, and possibly the best, alongside Series Andor, Mickey 17, and Predator: **** amazing culmination of James Cameron’s Pandora space fantasy opera. Great Music By Simon Franglen(The Magnificent Seven) & Themes by James Horner (Titanic) , Cinematography By Russell Carpenter(Jobs) , Produced By The Late Jon Landau(Avatar: The Way Of Water) and Direction By James Cameron(T2:Judgement Day,Avatar). An amazing culmination of James Cameron’s Pandora space fantasy opera. 9.5/10

Dec 19, 2025
Watched Predators With Two Time Oscar Winner Adrien Brody (The Pianist, The Brutalist) as Royce, Alice Braga( I Am Legend, Repo Men) as Isabelle , Topher Grace(Spider-Man 3) as Edwin, Walton Goggins(Ant-Man And The Wasp) as Stans.Aliison Oleg Tarktov(Miami Vice) as Nikolai , Laurence Fishburne(The Matrix) as Noland, Danny Trejo(Once A Up A Time In Mexico) as Cuchillo, Louis Ozawa Changchien(Fair Game) as Hanzo, Mahershala Ali (The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button) as Mombasa. Derek Mears(Zathura : A Space Adventure) as the Classic Predator , Carey Jones as Tracker Predator ,Brian Steele(Hellboy) as Falconer/Beserker Predator. Predators (2010) is a surprisingly underrated and now peak installment in the Predator franchise. While Prey and Badlands are rightly praised, Predators deserves far more love as well . It was one of the earliest true legacy sequels, paying clear homage to the 1987 original while confidently expanding the **** film’s emphasis on survival is one of its greatest strengths. Royce and Isabelle are among the better-developed protagonists in the franchise, and their slow-burn trust feels earned. The Crucified Predator being positioned as a reluctant “good guy” was a standout choice, especially when he faces off against the Berserker Super-Predator. Their conflict feels like a Shakespearean blood feud, adding thematic weight beyond simple monster **** Predators’ presence is felt even when they’re off-screen, reinforcing the tension and the idea that these are dishonorable hunters, breaking the traditional code we associate with the species. Contrary to some criticism, I actually liked the Super Predators, and the Berserker needing help from a Classic Jungle Hunter — and ultimately Royce — made his defeat more satisfying. Royce delivering the killing blow felt symbolic, marking the rise of a new legacy ****, the film has flaws. The cliffhanger ending doesn’t fully land, and the pacing can be uneven. But in retrospect, Predators feels very much like a shadow-directed Robert Rodriguez project, similar to how Tom Cruise steers the Mission: Impossible films — and that’s not a bad thing.Originally dismissed as mediocre upon release, Predators has aged extremely well and now stands proudly alongside newer installments and the 1987 original. Great Music By John Debney(The Mummy Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor) & Themes by Alan Sliverstri (Predator) , Cinematography By Gyula Pados(The Duchess) , Produced By Robert Rodriguez(Planet Terror) and Direction By Nimrod Antal(Armored). Snowpiercer8
Dec 14, 2025
Watched Snowpiercer with Chris Evans(Sunshine,Captain America: The First Avenger) as Curtis Everett ,Song Kang-Ho(Hindsight) as Namgoong Misoo , Jamie Bell(2005 King Kong) as Edgar ,John Hurt(Alien,V For Vendetta) as Gilliam ,Tilda Swinton(The Grand Budapest Hotel) as Minister Mason ,Octavia Spencer(The Help) as Tanya, Gho Ah-Sung(The Host) as Namgoog Yuna Vlad Ivanov(In The Fog), Franco The Elder and Ed Harris(The Abyss) as Wilford . Snowpiercer imagines a post-apocalyptic world where a failed SAI climate solution freezes the planet, forcing the remnants of humanity to survive aboard a perpetually moving train. Director Bong Joon-ho turns this setup into a brutal, tightly contained allegory for class struggle, with the elite living in luxury at the front and the oppressed packed into misery at the **** film doesn’t shy away from dark truths: the lower class’s descent into cannibalism, Curtis’s deep guilt over survival, and a revolution that comes at an unbearable cost. The journey from the tail to the engine is both literal and symbolic, making the train a metal microcosm of humanity at its worst. Bong’s sharp direction blends bleak drama with mild satire, delivering heavy political themes—capitalism, exploitation, and systemic control—without losing momentum.Unlike Mad Max, there are no scattered tribes or warlords here; everything is concentrated, controlled, and suffocating. Based on the graphic novel Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob, Benjamin Legrand, and Jean-Marc Rochette, the film proves that graphic novels can be just as powerful a foundation for great sci-fi as traditional novels. Ranked #48 on Empire’s Top 50 Sci-Fi Films, Snowpiercer is an exceptional “bottle movie” and a chilling warning about capitalism’s dangers in a post-apocalyptic society .Music By Marco Beltrami(3:10 To Yuma, The Wolverine), ,Cinematography By Hong Kyung-pyo (Champion) and Direction By Bong Jong-Ho (Mother) . an exceptional “bottle movie” and a chilling warning about capitalism’s dangers in a post-apocalyptic society 8/10

Twelve Monkeys8
Nov 29, 2025
Watched 12 Monkeys with Bruce Willis(Die Hard Witg A Vegeance) as James Cole ,Madilene Stowe(The Last Of The Mohicans) as Kathryn Railly , Brad Pitt(Legends of The Fall) as Jeffrey Goines ,Frank Gorshin(Batman TV Show) as Dr.Fletcher ,Christopher Meloni(Runaway Bride) as Lt.Halperin and The Christopher Plummer(Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country ) as Dr.Leland Goines. This isn’t a typical time-travel movie focused on “saving humanity” in a straightforward way. Instead, it leans into ambiguity, surrealism, and a bit of nihilism while weaving in elements of conspiracy. Bruce Willis and Madeleine Stowe deliver strong performances, but Brad Pitt stands out as the unhinged and unpredictable Goines, whose strained relationship with his father adds depth to the character.Gilliam’s surreal visual style shines through in the costumes and production design, giving the film a unique atmosphere. Like many great sci-fi films, the dramatic elements take center stage, with the sci-fi aesthetics supporting the story rather than overwhelming it. I also found the premise compelling: a group of prisoners—considered the lowest in society—tasked with securing humanity’s future. It’s an intriguing contrast to more straightforward time-travel narratives like Back to the Future, which also appears on Empire’s Top 50 list.Overall, it’s a surreal, nihilistic take on time travel, which helps explain why it ranks so highly on lists like Empire’s Top 50 Sci-Fi Films, where it sits at #39 .Music By Paul Buckmaster(The Man Who Fell To Earth), ,Cinematography By Roger Pratt (Batman 1989) and Direction By Terry Gillam(Monty Python And The Holy Grail ) A Surreal, Nihilistic Time-Travel Story . 8/10

WALL-E8
Nov 18, 2025
Watched WALL-E with Ben Burtt(Star Wars) as Wall-E ,Elissa Knight(Cars) as Eve , Jeff Garlin(The Goldbergs) as Captain B.MCrea ,John Ratzenberger(Ratatouille) as John, Kathy Najimy(Hocus Pocus) as Mary, The Late Fred Willard(Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy) as Shelby Forthwright and Sigourney Weaver(Alien,Aliens) as The Axioms Computer. I really enjoyed this movie—it almost plays like a silent film at times. WALL-E’s non-verbal storytelling works beautifully, and seeing him as a hardworking load-lifter robot who still feels humanized was a great touch. EVE, essentially a probe searching for life on our blue planet, brings an interesting twist, and the human characters—Captain McCrea, John and Mary, and even Shelby Forthright—add a relatable dynamic since they ultimately represent us.AUTO makes for a strong antagonist, even if his motivations feel a bit thin, but the HAL 9000 homage is clear and effective. It’s easy to see why this is often considered Pixar’s magnum opus (along with Ratatouille) and why it ranks so highly on lists like Empire’s Top 50 Sci-Fi Films at # 30 .Music By Thomas Newman(Jarhead), Screen Play By Jim Reardown(The Simpsons) ,Cinematography By Danielle Feinberg(The Incredibles) and Direction By Andrew Stanton(Finding Nemo) WALL-E: A Nearly Silent Sci-Fi Gem . 8/10

Nov 9, 2025
Watched Predator Badlands With Newcomer Dimitrius Kolomatangi as Dek, Rueben De Jong as Njohrr/Apex Predator/Father, Mike Homik as Kwei, Elle Fanning(The Great, A Complete Unkown) as Thia/Tessa.Aliison Wright(Snowpiercer TNT) as MU/TH/UR . Predator: Badlands honestly surprised me — it’s got a lot more heart than I expected. Dek and Thia make it feel like a buddy movie, which really works here. It’s also way less gory than the older ones, which I didn’t mind. The CGI’s rough in spots, and the whole Weyland-Yutani connection doesn’t seem to be going anywhere (at least for now), but overall it’s a solid Predator movie with some genuine emotion behind it. Predator: Badlands — A Surprisingly Heartfelt Buddy Survival Flick Great Music By Sarah Schchner(The Lazarus Effect) & Benjamin Wallfisch(Blade Runner 2049,Alien Romulus) , Cinematography By Jeff Cutter(Daisy Jones And The Six) , Direction By Dan Trachtenberg(10 Cloverfield Lane). District 99
Oct 14, 2025
Watched District 9 With Sharlto Copley as Wikus Van De Merwe, Jason Cope as Christopher Johnson/Grey Bradnam, Eugene Khumbayiwa as Obesandjo, Vanessa Haywood as Tania Smit-van de Mewre. David James as Col.Koobus Venter . Rewatched District 9 — another unconventional alien invasion movie in the same spirit as Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) and Arrival (2016). Sharlto Copley gives an amazing performance as Wikus, with Jason Cope excellent as Christopher Johnson, and David James perfectly cast as the ruthless Koobus Venter.I love how the film tackles apartheid — themes that still resonate today, especially with what’s happening in Gaza, even as a tentative ceasefire holds. It also boldly takes on xenophobia and otherness while blending found-footage elements (a popular 2000s trend) with gritty realism. The touches of body horror and biopunk give it even more **** fact: the MNU bullpup rifles were actually holdovers from the scrapped Halo movie before the project evolved into District 9. While not perfect — it leans a bit pro-human at times, despite Grey Bradnam seeming like a Prawn sympathizer — it’s still a sharp, visceral sci-fi story with heart and social **** Prawn mech sequence remains one of the best pieces of sci-fi action from the 2000s. I’m convinced Neil Blomkamp could do Robert A. Heinlein’s Starship Troopers remake justice if he ever gets the chance.Based on the 2005 short film Alive in Joburg, District 9 ranks #47 on Empire’s Top 50 Best Sci-Fi Movies — and it’s easy to see why.Great Music By Clinton Shorter, Cinematography By Trent Opaloch , Direction By Neil Blomkamp . District 9 is a gritty, smart alien invasion film mixing social commentary with sharp sci-fi and standout performances. 9.5/10

Oct 14, 2025
Watched The Terminator With Arnold Schwarznegger(Conan The Barbarian) as The Terminator T-101 Model, Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor, Michael Beihn as Kyle Reese, Paul Winfield(Star Trek: Wrath Of Khan) as Ed Traxler, Lance Henriksen(Close Encounters With The Third Kind) as Hal Vukovich . Inspired By The Works Of Harlan Ellison. Rewatched The Terminator — it still holds up as an incredible blend of sci-fi and horror. It even shares some thematic DNA with Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) — not overtly, but the paranoia and dread are definitely there. It also plays like a slasher film wrapped in a sci-fi skin, which makes it stand out even more.Linda Hamilton delivers an amazing performance as Sarah Connor — truly a scream queen for the genre. While some of the effects and time-travel logic show their age, the film’s intensity and atmosphere remain powerful. I can definitely see why many people prefer its raw simplicity over Terminator 2: Judgment Day.A fantastic sci-fi horror slasher that still feels relevant today, both in its themes and execution. It’s no surprise it ranked #14 on Empire’s Top 50 Most Influential Sci-Fi Movies. Great Music By Brad Fiedel(The Bunker), Cinematography By Adam Greenberg(10 To Midnight) , Direction By James Cameron . A fantastic sci-fi horror slasher that still feels relevant today 8.5/10

Watched Tron Ares With Oscar Winner Jared Leto(Mr.Nobody, Blade Runner 2049) as Ares,Greta Lee(Past Lives) as Eve Kim, Jodie Turner-Smith(Without Remorse) as Athena, Cameron Monaghan(Star Wars Jedi Series) as Camus, Sarah Desjardins(Float) as Erin , Evan Peters(WandaVision) as Jullian Dilligner, Gillian Anderson(X-Files) as Elisabeth Dillinger , And Jeff Bridges(Tron, Tron Legacy, Iron Man) as Kevin Flynn . Based On The 1982 Sci-Fi Movie from Steven Lisberger & Bonnie MacBird. I really enjoyed this film — it’s one you can somewhat turn your brain off for while still appreciating its ideas. Greta Lee did amazing as Eve Kim, the film’s true protagonist in my book. Like her pop-star demon-hunting counterparts, she wasn’t a soulless character, which shows Disney is starting to learn — even if the film came off a bit clumsy at times.Jared Leto was solid as a program discovering his humanity, and the movie was a stunning visual spectacle with themes that feel very relevant today — especially as The Grid increasingly mirrors our real-world relationship with AI like Google Gemini, ChatGPT, Tilly Norwood, and the dreaded Sora-2. I also loved how the film leaned into its tech-noir and cyberpunk inspirations, drawing from classics like The Terminator, Blade Runner, Akira, and even Cyberpunk 2077 — The Dillinger Grid’s harsh reds feel straight out of The Blackwall.I really appreciated the nod to Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein — the forgotten mother of science fiction — and its timeless themes of creation and rebellion. That said, the film didn’t always execute its big ideas cleanly. Jurassic World Dominion is a more egregious example of this kind of missed potential, but still, there were opportunities left on the table with Sam, Quorra, and **** for Tron himself — I know it’s controversial, but I was hoping Cameron Monaghan would take over the mantle, as Tron: Uprising showed it’s not just tied to Alan Bradley’s character. Some ideas here were well-baked, others not quite cooked through.Overall, it’s a fun and cool homage to both Tron films — a visually dazzling ride that struggles to execute some already familiar sci-fi tropes Great Music By Nine Inch Nails(The Social Network), Cinematography By Jeff Croenweth(Being The Ricardos) , Direction By Joachim Ronning(Young Woman At The Sea) . a fun and cool homage to both Tron films — a visually dazzling ride that struggles to execute some already familiar sci-fi tropes. 7.5/10

Doctor Sleep8
Oct 10, 2025
Watched Doctor Sleep starring Ewan McGregor(Star Wars, The Island) as Danny Torrance, Rebecca Ferguson(Mission:Impossible-Fallout) as Rose The Hat, Kyleigh Curran(I Can I Will I Did) as Abra Stone , Cliff Curtis(The Meg) as Billy Freeman, Carl Lumbly(Alias) as **** Halloran, Zahn McClarron(Longmire) as Crow Daddy ,Emily Alyn Lind(The Babysitter) as Snakebite Andi, Alex Essoe(Midnighters) as Wendy Torrance, Jocelin Donahye(The Frontier) as Lucy Stone and Henry Thomas(Mimic) as The Bartender. Didn’t see Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining, but this was amazing! While it dragged in some parts, it was still a great film overall. Ewan McGregor did an excellent job as a troubled Danny Torrance, and Rebecca Ferguson absolutely stole the show as the sadistic cult leader Rose the Hat of the True Knot. Kayleigh Curran was also fantastic as Abra Stone, the emotional core of the story. A solid, haunting legacy sequel—perfect for the spooky season. Also if your looking something to watch Post-Sinners. Great Music By The Newton Brothers(Ouija : Origin Of Evil ), , Cinematography By Micahel Fimognari(Geralds Game) and Direction By Mike Flanagan(Hush ) Though it Drags in Some parts Amazing Legacy Sequel To The Shining8/10.

Based On The 1997 Anti-Hero/Supervillian/Team from Marvel Comics. The film's strength lies in its authenticity and emotional core, which felt fresh and much-needed. Yelena and Bob were incredible and truly carried the movie with their raw, honest performances. It was refreshing to see both the women and men treated with equal depth and humanity. While the pacing could drag at times and it definitely helps to have seen previous MCU entries, the sincerity of the characters makes it a worthwhile watch. My only real disappointment is that I wish it leaned more into R-rated territory; it felt like it was pulling its punches, unlike something like Deadpool & Wolverine. Watched The Long Walk With Cooper Hoffman(Licorice Pizza) as Raymond Garraty , David Jonsson (Alien Romulus) as Peter McVries, Garrett Wareing(Independence Day Resurgence) as Billy Stebbins ,Tut Nyuot(The Dumping Ground) as Arthur Baker, Ben Wang(Chang Can Dunk) as Hank Olsen , Charlie Plummer(The First Lady) as Gary Barktovitch , Joshua Odjick(Bones And Crows) as Collie Parker, Josh Hamilton(Maestro) as Mr.William Garrity , Judy Greer(Jurassic World,Ant-Man And The Wasp) Mrs.Ginnie Garrity and Mark Hamill(Star Wars, The Life Of Chuck) as The Major . Based On The 1973 Novel by Stephen King under the Pen name Richard Bachman. Wow — this film was brutal, but also brutally honest. Hoffman and Jonnson were outstanding as the two leads, and Mark Hamill delivered a chilling performance as The Major. An unnamed cataclysmic event sets the stage for individuals to take part in The Long Walk, while the United States seems to have evolved into an even more jingoistic regime. At times the film left me squeamish, but that was clearly the point. I’ll admit I was a bit confused by the ending, though it still stuck with me long after the credits rolled. A brisk and iconic watch that wears its environmentalist heart proudly—years before James Cameron’s Avatar, Denis Villeneuve’s Dune (Herbert’s adaptation), or even Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home would explore similar themes.Freeman Lowell is a fascinating character—you can’t help but question his morality after he kills his crew to save the forests. It’s that gray area the film lives in that makes it so compelling.I especially loved the early motion control effects by John Dykstra, who would later shape Star Wars. The film’s influence even echoes into my favorite video game series, Sony’s Horizon franchise, where Aloy feels like a female-coded Lowell fighting for a fragile **** only issue is its lack of deeper world-building—I wanted to see more of the larger universe hinted at. Still, such a brisk but unforgettable sci-fi classic. Ranked # 50 on Empires Top 50 Sci-Fi Movies Great Music By Peter Schickele(Oh! The film was good—but not great. Quinn’s Human Torch and Garner’s Silver Surfer absolutely stole the show, while the rest of the cast was serviceable enough. I really appreciated the period setting—we need more superhero films that embrace their era. The 1960s Space Age aesthetic was a standout, and I loved the alternate Earth angle where the Fantastic Four basically filled the Avengers’ **** definitely captures the spirit of the characters better than previous attempts, and I’d say it’s the best Fantastic Four film to date. I thought Dave Bautista and Kumail Nanjiani were fantastic — a hilarious comedy duo on par with the likes of Owen Wilson & Vince Vaughn or Simon Pegg & Nick Frost. Their chemistry really carried the film. However, the story itself struggled, especially with the sudden shift in romantic focus. Nicole Manning's character came out of nowhere as the new love interest, while Betty Gilpin’s Becca Scott was abruptly sidelined. It felt rushed and underdeveloped.Overall, it’s a good comedy, but not a great one.Great Music By Joseph Trapnese (Obilivion ), , Cinematography By Bobby Shore and Direction By Michael Dowse(Goon ) A Good Comedy But Had Potential To Be Great7/10.

Superman9
Jul 17, 2025
Superman was amazing! James Gunn brought his signature sensibilities while capturing the magic of Superman '78, updated with a modern touch. The film had a wonderful Silver Age flair, just like the classic comics. David Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult, and Rachel Brosnahan all delivered outstanding performances — and Krypto was an absolute scene-stealer!While I haven’t always been a fan of Gunn’s more juvenile humor, here it felt like a breath of fresh air and actually worked well for Superman’s world. That said, I still prefer the look and tone of Man of Steel’s Krypton. If you enjoy Man of Steel more — more power to you. Personally, I still lean toward the heart and charm of the 1978 film, and this new one beautifully bridges the gap. With its success, I could definitely see this opening the door to a Flash Gordon remake — which makes me even more excited for what’s next.Rating: 9.1/10

Does it beat the original? No—but it absolutely holds its own. It’s right up there with The Lost World and Jurassic Park III. For the first time in years, it was clunky at times but I still felt that same mix of awe and terror the franchise was built on. Bailey and Johansson bring real heart and weight to the story, grounding the chaos with solid performances. And the dinosaurs? Genuinely scary again—especially the T-Rex and D-Rex. It’s a thrilling ride that reminds you why you fell in love with this series in the first **** Stop disrepecting Gareth Edwards he is a good Tony Gilroy.Great Music By Alexandre Desplat(Godzilla 14), Cinematography By John Matheison(Gladiator II) , Screenplay By David Koepp(The Lost World:Jurassic Park ,Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny) and Direction By Gareth Edwards(Rogue One, The Creator) . I really enjoyed the film — the trio of Huntrix members, Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, were fantastic! I especially loved the underlying theme that fame is often a facade. Zoey was my favorite — her bubbly personality was so infectious. I also really dug the supernatural elements, particularly Rumi literally battling her inner demons while serving as Earth's protector. Mira’s stoic but honest nature added a great balance to the group. The use of music as a source of power in a contemporary sense was a standout. Once again, Sony Animation delivers with this fun and heartfelt tribute to K-pop, Korean culture, mythology, and supernatural storytelling.Great Music By Marcelo Zarvos(May December), Directing By Chris Applehans(Wish Dragon) and By Maggie King . Satirical, weird, and existential, Mickey 17 is a standout hit, with Robert Pattinson delivering an incredible performance.Watched the Mickey 17 With Robert Pattinson(Tenet, The Batman) as Mickey Barnes/Mickey 17/Mickey 18 , Naomie Ackie(Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker,Blink Twice ) as Nasha Adjaya, Steven Yeun(The Walking Dead) as Timo, Mark Ruffalo(Poor Things) as Kenneth Marshall, Toni Colette(Hereditary,Knives Out)as Ylfa Marshall, Anamaria Varolomei(Happening) as Kai Katz ,Holliday Granger(The Borgias) as Gemma.Satirical, weird, and existential, Mickey 17 is a standout hit, with Robert Pattinson delivering an incredible performance. The film explores themes of identity and expendability against the backdrop of humanity's colonization of the planet Niflheim. Blending sharp satire with high-concept sci-fi, it positions itself as 2025's answer to Dune: Part Two, offering a thought-provoking take on survival, repetition, and the cost of expansion..I know Bong he said he used. Nasha serves as a stand-in for a leader like Kamala Harris, representing a polished yet constrained figure within the political landscape, while Kenneth Marshall embodies a counterpart aligned with the establishment's opposition-perhaps a figure akin to Ron DeSantis or another right-leaning populist. Their dynamic reflects the broader tensions within American politics, where the two dominant parties perpetuate an oligarchic system that limits genuine alternatives. This contrast reinforces the film's satirical yet timely critique of political stagnation, manufactured division, and the struggle for meaningful reform.,Amazing Score from Jung Jae-il(Gremlins ) and, Cinematography By Darius Khonji(Uncut Gems) Direction from Bong Joon-Ho(Parasite). Mortal Kombat7
Jun 30, 2025
A Flawed but Fun Fatality-Filled RideMortal Kombat (2021) - A Campy Yet Great Remake of the Franchise Mortal Kombat (2021) is a love letter to fans of the long-running fighting game franchise, embracing its over-the-top action, brutal fatalities, and cheesy one-liners while delivering a modern take on the saga. It may not be a flawless victory, but it's a bloody fun ride that understands the essence of Mortal Kombat.A Nostalgic Yet Fresh Approach Unlike the 1995 Mortal Kombat film, which leaned into PG-13 territory, this remake finally unleashes the franchise's signature gore with R-rated brutality. Director Simon McQuoid crafts a film that respects its source material, giving fans what they've always wanted-faithful character designs, iconic catchphrases, and jaw-dropping fatalities ripped straight from the games. While some story choices may be divisive (Cole Young's addition feels unnecessary), the film does a great job at reintroducing classic characters like Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Kano in a way that feels fresh yet familiar. The opening battle between Hanzo Hasashi (Scorpion) and Bi-Han (Sub-Zero) is a highlight, offering a gripping and beautifully choreographed fight that sets the tone.Campy Charm Meets Brutal Combat This movie doesn't take itself too seriously, and that's part of the fun. Kano (Josh Lawson) steals every scene with his crude humor, perfectly embodying the kind of campiness fans love about Mortal Kombat. While some dialogue is laughably bad, it adds to the film's charm rather than taking away from **** action sequences are the true star here, delivering satisfying, bone-crunching fights. Sub-Zero (Joe Taslim) is a standout villain, using ice-based attacks in visually stunning ways. The film builds toward a climactic battle that feels like a straight-up boss fight, with Scorpion's arrival delivering the ultimate fan-service moment.Final Verdict: Flawed, But Fun as Hell Mortal Kombat (2021) isn't perfect-some characters feel underdeveloped, and the tournament itself never actually happens-but it nails the tone and spectacle that fans crave. It's a campy, bloody, and action-packed reboot that leans into the franchise's strengths while setting the stage for bigger battles to come.Final Score: 7.5/10 - A Flawed but Fun Fatality-Filled Ride.

Minority Report9
Jun 30, 2025
Another standout in Spielberg's filmography and a shining example of smart, socially aware science fiction that continues to resonate today.Minority Report is a thought-provoking and masterful film, with themes that remain strikingly relevant in today's world. In an age of mass surveillance and diminishing privacy-especially in a post-9/11 and post-COVID-19 society-the film's questions about free will, determinism, and the human condition hit harder than ever.Based on the short story by Philip K. ****, Minority Report moves beyond the androids and replicants of earlier **** adaptations like Blade Runner. Instead, it turns the lens inward, asking whether we are the criminals-whether guilt can exist before a crime is committed, and if our choices are ever truly our own. It explores the tension between personal agency and a system that claims to know our future.Spielberg skillfully blends high-concept sci-fi with noir and moral drama, creating something that feels like a fusion of Blade Runner and Total Recall. While the pacing may be slower than expected at times, the payoff is well worth it. The film doesn't just entertain-it lingers in your ****'s easy to see why Minority Report ranks at #19 on Empire's list of the 50 Best Sci-Fi Movies. It's another standout in Spielberg's filmography and a shining example of smart, socially aware science fiction that continues to resonate today.,Amazing Score from John Williams(AI: Artificial Intelligence ) and, Cinematography By Janusz Kaminski(Amistad) Direction from Steven Spielberg(Jurassic Park) Another standout in Spielberg's filmography and a shining example of smart, socially aware science fiction that continues to resonate today. 9/10.

A Slowburner Spy Thriller That is SubversiveWatched The Amateur with Oscar Winner Rami Malek(No Time To Die) as Charlie Heller ,Laurence Fishburne(The Matrix) as Robert Henderson , Rachel Brosnahan(Marvelous Ms. Maisel ) as Sarah Horowitz, Caitoriona Balfe(Outlander) as Iquiline/Davies , Michael Stuhlbag(Arrival,The Shape Of Water) as Horst Schiller,Julian Nicholson as Samantha O'Brien, Jon Berenthal(Sicario,The Punisher) as Jackson O'Brien Aka The Bear, Takehiro Hira as The Proffessor.Malek and Fishburne deliver standout performances in this Bourne-esque thriller-minus the gunplay. Told from the unique perspective of a CIA analyst, the film becomes increasingly gripping as our protagonist dismantles enemy operatives through intellect and strategy rather than brute force. What sets it apart is how he not only takes down an entire covert operation but also exposes corruption within the CIA itself. It's a slow-burn, but when it hits, it hits hard. If you're looking for something sharp and smart this weekend, give this a shot-especially impressive considering its modest $80 million budget.Music By Volker Bertelmann(All Quiet On The Western Front), Cinematography By Martin Rhue(The Midnight Sky) Writing By Ken Nolan(Only The Brave), Gary Spinelli(American Made), Based On The Novel By Robert Littrell and Direction By James Hawes(One Life) A Slowburner Spy Thriller That is Subversive 8/10.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning8
Jun 29, 2025
While Slow Going and A Bit To Many Flashbacks Still Manages To Wrap Up The Series NicelyWatched Mission:Impossible-Dead Reckoning With Tom Cruise(Top Gun:Maverick) as Ethan Hunt , Hayley Atwell(Doctor Strange And The Multiverse Of Madness) as Grace, Simon Pegg(The Boys) as Benji Dunn, Pom Klementieff(Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.3) as Paris, Greg Tarzan Davis(Good Trouble) as Degas, Shea Wigham(Kong :Skull Island) as Briggs , Katy O'Brian(The Mandalorian) as Kodiak, Hannah Waddington(The Fall Guy) as Admiral Neely , Nick Offerman(The Last Of Us HBO) as General Sidney , Esai Morales(Teen Titans) as Gabriel Martinellli and Angela Basset(Black Panther:Wakanda Forever) as Madame President Erika Sloane.I enjoyed it, even though it was slow at times and had a few too many character flashbacks. Glad it's the final installment. The plane and submarine stunts were insane-you really have to suspend disbelief, but they were excellent and thrilling. It wrapped up the Mission: Impossible story well. It's not in my top 3 (I'd rank Fallout, the original 1996, and Ghost Protocol higher), but it still closed out the spy series better than No Time To Die did for Bond. A stronger finale overall.Great Music By Max Aruj and Alfie Godfrey, Cinematography By Fraser Taggert and Directing By Christopher McQuarrie(Mission:Impossible-Fallout) . While Slow Going and A Bit To Many Flashbacks Still Manages Wraps Up The Series Nicely 8/10.

Predator: Killer of Killers9
Jun 29, 2025
Watched Predator:Killer Of Killers with Lindsay Lavanchy as Ursa ,Louis Ozawa(Se7en) as Kenji and Kiyoshi Kamakani , Rick Gonzalez as Torres ,Michael Beihn(The Terminator,Aliens) as Vandy, Doug **** Witcher 3:Wild Hunt) as Einar, and Britton Watkins as War Lord Predator.I really enjoyed this animated anthology series. It was thrilling to see Vikings, Berserkers, ace pilots, and samurai warriors each face off against their own uniquely coded Yautja opponents, with each story tailored to the setting and character archetypes. While Kenji and Ursa had standout voice performances, Torres stole the show. As just a humble flight mechanic going up against a Predator ace with superior tech, his victory felt earned-relying on wits, not brute strength, made it all the more believable. This anthology also cleverly sets the stage for Predator: Badlands, introducing the Yautja homeworld and the fearsome Grendel King. It even adds context to why Royce and his team were sent to the Game Preserve Planet in **** Trachtenberg continues to inject fresh life into the Predator franchise. This is worldbuilding done right-exciting, character-driven, and full of potential.Music By Benjamin Wallfisch(Alien Romulus), Screen Play By Micho Robert Ruarte, and Direction By Dan Trachtenberg(10 Cloverfield Lane,Prey) Dan Trachtenberg continues to inject fresh life into the Predator franchise. 9/10.

F1: The Movie8

A Fantastic Encore from Joseph Kosinski - A Love Letter to Speed and Storytelling"Plan C is For Combat" -Sonny Hayes Watched F1:T With Brad Pitt(Ad Astra) as Sonny Hayes, Damson Idris(Outside The Wire) as Joshua Pearce aka JP, Kerry Condon(Rome,Star Wars:Skeleton Crew) as Kate McKenna, Javier Bardem(Dune Part 2) as Ruben Cervantes, Tobias Menzies(The Way Up) as Peter Banning, Shea Wigham(Kong :Skull Island, Mission:Impossible-The Final Reckoning) as Chip Hart , Kim Bodina(Killing Eve) as Kasper Smilonski, Sarah Niles(Viewpoint) as Bernadette Pearce, Will Merrick(Barbie) as Hugh Nickleby , Callie Cooke(Doctor Who) as Jodie and Abdul Sallis (Mufasa:The Lion King) as Dodge Dowda. After Top Gun: Maverick (2022), I was eager to see what Joseph Kosinski would deliver next-and he did not miss. This film is an incredible encore, echoing the heart and intensity of Maverick, but swapping the fighter jets for the raw, visceral thrill of Grand Prix **** dynamic between Sonny Hayes and his younger teammate was powerful-reminiscent of Maverick and Rooster, but grounded in the world of motorsport. Their tension and eventual mutual respect gave the story real emotional weight. And much like Top Gun: Maverick, this film is built for everyone-not just fans of **** romance subplot with Kate McKenna worked beautifully too, in a way that felt natural and earned-evoking the charm of Penny Benjamin without ever copying it. Kosinski brings his signature style and heart once again, crafting a movie that not only thrills but honors the legacy of speed and legacy. It also feels like a fitting tribute to George Lucas, whose love for racing predates even his filmmaking days. This film is not just a crowd-pleaser-it's a moment for motorsport, and it's going to grow the F1 audience even more. I'll be first in line for Top Gun 3, but for now, I'm more than happy to be seated for this. Kosinski continues to prove he's one of the most reliable blockbuster directors working today.Great Music By Hans Zimmer(The Creator), Cinematography By Claudio Miranda(Spiderhead) and Directing By Joseph Konsinski (Oblivion, Top Gun:Maverick) . A Fantastic Encore from Joseph Kosinski - A Love Letter to Speed and Storytelling 8/10.
