Fire Country might be taking a bit of a soapier turn, but the fire rescue scenes are still well done, and the now-well-established cast work well together.

Fire Country has more story and stronger characters at the outset than a CBS procedural like this usually has, and that’ll carry the show when the fires start looking all the same as each other.

I absolutely love this show. My favorite actors are first Manny Perez and secondly Bodi Leoni. These two actors stand out because of there compassion for others. Great job to everyone in this show as well as the writers and producers. Thank you for such an amazing show. I wish this show would never end. Incredibly amazing.

Just the opening episode utilizes the fire crisis less as its own event and more as a tool for storytelling, which is when this series excels. .... The show has to decide what it wants to do with Gabriela and Bode, whether it's to finally see them together or have them realize they're not good for each other and break up. The continuous back and forth can only go on so long before it gets stale.

Efficiently introduces a substantial cast. ... As their characters’ lives overlap and make room for each other to the tune of twanging country guitars, some decent pairs of chemistry emerge. But make no mistake: from its conception to its premise to all its most standout scenes, this show is Thieriot’s. ... It might’ve been harder — or at least more complicated — to dive deeper into the stories of the men who left prison alongside Bode, but if “Fire Country” could make even that slight gesture toward honoring the experiences fueling this show, it would be far better for it.

So overwhelming is the Bode-ness of it all that Fire Country leaves little oxygen for anything or anyone else, flattening what could have been a smarter, more interesting procedural.

Despite the sizable scale of its emergencies, which is a commendable achievement in visual effects, the show’s first two episodes feel bound to the conventions of its overcrowded genre and hardly break any new ground in terms of characterization, introducing a painfully thin set of characters who lack the chemistry necessary for weekly appointment television.

It's easy enough to see where things are going, though the interrelationships of the characters come as some surprise, even in a show so otherwise predictably plotted and paced. The actors, strait-jacketed by the format, don't really have much of a chance to shine, though Billy Burke as Edgewater battalion chief Vince Leone makes a solid impression as does Kevin Alejandro as Manny Perez. ... Mr. Thieriot, of "SEAL Team" and "Bates Motel," has a lot to do.

As a 30 year veteran California Firefighter and Credentialed Fire Instructor, I've been entertained watching the series and I'm sure that was the intention of the writers. I could list positives and negatives all day but one can pick almost any show apart for authenticity and believability. I wanted the show to be mostly believable and it kinda is .......but I'm wondering if it has CalFire's endorsement. I understand the need for theatrics in the name of entertainment and the liberties taken to make this one specific district look like they get all the calls and have all the skills and experience in the world... but CalFire is made to look pretty "bush league" at the end of season 3. Two "seasoned" Battalion Chiefs, on the scene of a well involved structure fire, run straight into the blaze. With their long hair flowing outside of their helmets, they run straight into a structure that is largely in free-burn, likely very hot and certainly to be considered IDLH (Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health). No SCBA (breathing-air tank and face mask), no flash protection, no protection lines, no accountability system. CalFire logos are everywhere you look and this is not a good representation, (put mildly), of their Command staff or their competence. Having run an accredited California Fire academy for 15 years, I could have used this particular sequence to illustrate SEVERAL, "Do Not Do This" tactics.
A topic for another post would be the apparent "hill-folk" type nepotism.

Fire Country is getting ridiculous and some of it so unrealistic. Like now bringing kids in for Fire Camp and 2 of them fight and they are not sent back to prison. Ridiculous! And Brody does everything wrong and goes from one woman to another. And when his dad died they didn't even have him and his mom comfort each other. They are family. We are about to quit watching.

More major network TV drivel. Feels like the target market is fly over country / Boomers. The major networks could learn a lot from British TV. Not everyone needs to be a model. In fact, it makes things far less believable.
