Sometime toward the end of the first episode, the show hits critical mass and turns mesmerizing and addictive. With Showtime's Homeland and its bipolar spook Carrie Mathison AWOL until next year, Berlin Station has a temporary corner on the dysfunctional-spy market. Buy in.

Berlin Station is a tense, terse thriller--good-looking but never fussy, balancing character and plot in satisfying proportions, a new suit cut to classic lines.

Excellent series for espionage buffs, threading new Berlin tech and culture with old Berlin spycraft. Follow Daniel Miller's clandestine mission as the world slowly collapses around him.

It’s the TV show as page-turner, if you have room on your night stand.

Consider it John le Carre fan fiction that le Carre himself might enjoy. [4 Nov 2016, p.57]

Alas, the ineffective introduction of characters combined with a general lack of visceral energy drag down the show long enough for viewers to lose interest. Things pick up a bit later on, but it’s not enough to redeem the series.

One of the reasons it’s difficult to keep up is that Berlin Station is boring, as is its central character. As the spy we’re supposed to be rooting for, Armitage might as well be a cardboard cutout.

Berlin Station Superb spy series, the best on TV in a very long time. The first really good one from modern Berlin. The first episode or two are a bit shaky, but don't worry... by episode 4 it's sailing along, and gets more and MORE exciting. Each new episode brings new surprises to a really complex plot, and the direction is assured and satisfying. Even the final episode 10 brings new twists in the plot, and new depth to supporting characters. Rhys Ifans is incredible - powerful and nuanced performance. Michelle Forbes (from way back, Ensign Ro) is terrific in a supporting role. Richard Jenkins shows what a fine actor he can be with a good script and good direction. Other supporting roles are spot-on, too. Wonderful. Don't worry about the first episode or two - just relax and let this top-notch spy series take you on a roller coaster ride!

This show is just ridiculous- started well but each season gets worse. Stupid storyline with poor acting and poor casting. The characters are very inconsistent with past stories. Could also do without the bad language- totally unnecessary

It's awful. Pointless nudity and sex all the time, (it's getting annoying), annoying characters (i just wanna punch their face), dull dialogue, Richard's bad accent and clothes, bad cast, music is non-sense and they are going to discuss their political secrets in night clubs or porn clubs. What the heck? Also, they use bad language all the **** it was a Quentin Tarantino movie, i would say...."ok". But now....just ****. Is that supposed to be a drama? Also, the main character has relationship with his secretary and he has a daughter? What the heck? The only good thing: Richard Armitage is sexy there.
