FX’s Gen Z sitcom Adults is a welcome shot in the arm to TV comedy, with a cast of talented newcomers and a bold style that delivers huge laughs.

Adults definitely starts out a bit frantic, and the characters a bit cartoonish, but there is more than enough that’s funny about this group of friends that makes us want to spend more time with them.

I truly love this show so much and am sad I'm out of episodes to watch. The characters are amazing and the writing is top-notch. More seasons, please!

I have been struggling to find a new comedy for a long time, and this show is it! They take the classic "friends living together after college," break it open, and make it something entirely fresh and new. I watched it all in one sitting and have been telling everyone I know how amazing it is. Need a season 2!!!

Another "Friends" (or "Girls"?) knockoff with a likable cast and some sharp writing.

While it’s still looking for its voice, it shows strong potential. When it matures and develops its characters past their absurdities, I’ll be looking forward to listening to what it has to say.

The biggest issue Adults has is failing to develop more depth for its characters, as well as how confidently that depth can be mined for comedic potential. Sure, the whole premise is that these characters are finding who they are, but it's hard not to feel as though Adults is still finding itself right alongside its characters.

What ultimately convinced me that my age isn’t the main obstacle to enjoying “Adults” is the simple fact that too many jokes build toward a punchline you can see from miles away, and too many episodes are built around choices that only a dumb twenty-something TV character would make, not a dumb real-life twenty-something.

If Adults shares one thing with today’s young people, it’s a formless, ambient sense of anxiety. Perhaps that will diffuse if the show is given time to grow, and these young adults learn what most twentysomethings do: in the game of winning friends and influencing people, one needn’t try so hard.

My new favorite show and the very thing my generation has been missing. It had me laughing out loud the entire time and I finished all in one sitting— there better be a season 2!!!!

This brisk little comedy puts five Gen-Z “friends” together in one house while they deal with life, jobs and relationships. This has been done before, so it’s up to the writing and performances to make this series stand apart. The showrunners are 2 longtime writers from “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and they manage to drop one or two real laughs per ep, while keeping the energy full of cheeky style and anxious energy. The cast of relative newcomers creates characters that are enjoyable, although a bit more individual background might have added some emotional depth. It doesn’t seem like that’s what they’re going for here. It’s more about a lightweight twentysomething comedy with social satire and touches of farce delivered by a likeable cast.

More woke trash. Could not express my disgust at watching this one more episode. The show wreaks of leftist losers

Very disappointing. Such a sad and overwhelming cast. Generally I thought I would like this. Turns out it is way too over the top and designed to miss punchlines regularly. Hard to watch but I did finish the first season sadly.

Just like how everyone that seems to like it awards the show a "10", I feel the horrible need to counter thoughless ratings with a "0". In my mind, it's average - not unique - and will most likely be completely forgotten once it goes off the air within a couple of seasons. Although it's a small step above watching thoughtless people sitting at a bus stop, S1E1 isn't interesting enough to bring it to a memorable level of characterization that's needed to keep a show like this from falling into the cracks of tv obscurity.
