The reason why uglies should have another movie is because I want to see weapons next like I want to see the girl find her way back to that guy and the other rebels friends of hers

This movie really brings into prospective current and futeristic life. These days everyone wants to have technology, surgery, to be a specific size. We forgot we're already beautiful and how to just live and coexist with one another. This film is truly heartwarming and anyone who says different is a mindless pretty in the real world. My whole family including my picky husband await for a 2nd film!!!!

A dystopian movie attempt was made, but did it have to be this unthoughtful and simple? Truly feels as if I'm listening to a school seminar where a guidance counselor explains the unrealistic beauty standards social media has constructed.

I'm not sure why ppl rated this movie so bad even at imdb but I found this movie pretty good and liked it. I hope there is uglies 2 to wrap up the conclusion.

This movie has wasted its animation, cinematography, and plot with a bad execution. This movie can have viewers interested, but the lack of fulfillment, reliability, and character depth ultimately does not leave a positive review of this movie.

This is so bad to a point it's almost unreal. If you want to laugh this can be good for you, because the laughable situations are one after the other until the apotheotic hilarious ending.
If this was presented as a comedy I would had give it a ten

This movie is almost literally 20 years too late. If this had hit theatres after the book had been released, back in 2005, it could've been the start of a brilliant new IP. As it stands now, it's just an okay-ish adaption of a slightly-dated YA trilogy. Fans of the book will be mostly entertained, but also slightly annoyed at some of the ways it's not faithful to the book.

This is a world where pretty young people are called uglies who aspire to be pretty people but it pretty much gets forced onto them anyway when they turn sixteen. The premise is predictable and unimaginative. It sits in the teen genre that only really The Hunger Games (2012) has done well with. This film is as shallow as you’d expect. The morals are predictable but at least it’s not totally one dimensional, it’s more like two dimensional but certainly not three dimensional like the real world. Actually the real world probably is action fourth dimensional but now getting metaphysical. The special effects are okay, some look better than others. The pretty city does look beautiful. The characters are generic. The whole ageing and death thing is never fully explained. The acting is okay. The economics that make the world function makes no sense. I absolutely hated the ending and marked it down from average passing the time to below average frustration.

It was an easy watch, simple no bad, decent watch. I’d say I’d recommend it for sure to some, others not so much.

I want to clarify that I’ve never read the book series the movie is based on. However, Uglies took me back to the days of Divergent, Maze Runner, and other similar films in this genre, which I **** my opinion, the story of Uglies doesn’t offer anything particularly new, but honestly, seeing familiar themes in a different setting is always enjoyable. On top of that, I think the movie delivers a great message, especially for today’s teenagers, who, due to social media, might feel imperfect or inferior. Joey King is fantastic as always!

I am a big fan of the original book. After looking at the movie reviews, I didn't expect anything good from the adaptation. I'm glad I was wrong. For me, this is almost a perfect adaptation, in general, everything I remember from the book is here, the same characters, the plot, cool action scenes were a pleasant surprise, the casting of the two main characters is excellent. The fact that the actors are not ugly enough, I don't think is a minus. I am amazed at how people gloat here in their reviews and where such hatred for this film comes from. I hope they release a sequel based on the second and third books.

To begin with I couldn't understand the appeal of this film but the rebel angle got me hooked. It as different and interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing another one if they continue this series

The movie isn't as bad as its ratings suggest. It's just average—good for a one-time watch in the evening. It's easy-going and not intense at all. I wouldn’t mind seeing a sequel.

The Uglies is a movie (and series wannabe) that is 10 years too late as the YA trend is winding down. It is actually quite well for a streaming movie, and directed by the depedable McG, who now become a Netflix stalwart, and has a pretty good cast. But looking at the clearly cliffhanger ending, will there even be a second installment?

Very simple film. A bit lackluster. The acting is just ok, could of used more emotion and some tensity, I was bored. However, it’s easy to watch and entertaining a little if you’re-just looking for something to play in the background or extremely bored.

Good idea, poor implementation. Weak plot, bad CGI, stupid characters and no plot twists.

What can i say that hasnt already been said by the entire world at this point? Insanely bad cg, rediculous and nonsensical in every possible way. Anyone who continues watching such a bad film, indeed any film, just because a particular actor is attractive, is feeding the monsterous executives that run these studios. Falling right into their clutches. You could accomplish the same thing by doing a quick Google image search. The recognition of an actor doesnt justify a film's existence, nor does it somehow make a film better. Especially when its so very bad and clearly lazily made. Regardless of someones age.

This was an interesting new spin on YA dystopia future movies and I found it interesting enough to keep my attention throughout which set quickly due to the narrative structure at the start of the film. The premise is engaging and believable where the idea of a wicked scientist with an agenda for control and social construction to keep people in a state only they can change made for a relatable storyline that is comparable to Divergent and the Hunger Games. I enjoyed the movie overall and would recommend it to people who enjoy similar movies like Paradise Hills or The Stepford Wives.
