While it does take on the franchise burden in hefty doses, the film remains a fun, and funny, B-movie throughout.

An odd but frothily entertaining genre cocktail, which coasts on the charisma of its two biggest names and keeps things just fun enough to forgive its considerable lapses in narrative.

I don't understand why it got flopped. I have enjoyed every second of this movie and was looking forward for a sequel, now learning that it has been cancelled breaks my heart.

I cannot understand this so negative rating to this movie. The cast was great and the story was a way better than the 'original' horrible movies. The Mummy is a very good movie, a well-deserved 7, but I put a 10 to raise the average due to poor ratings by poor users.

Weirdly out of place here, Cruise brings little daring and less charm to the film, though to be fair to the actor, his character's a stiff.

It’s amazingly relentless in its naked borrowing from other, better horror and sci-fi movies that I was able to keep occupied making a checklist of the movies referenced.

The Mummy is so wall-to-wall awful, so cheesy, so ridiculous, so convoluted, so uninvolving and so, so stupid.

A movie that goes beyond defying comprehension to being truly incomprehensible.

As the beginning of a new film universe is okay, the movie is fun to watch and with good action scenes, the script I miss a bit more seriousness but in general is a good movie, I hope with each new movie from the Dark Universe Go up the quality standards / Como el inicio de un nuevo universo cinematografico esta bien, la pelicula es divertida de ver y con buenas escenas de accion, al guion le falto un poco mas de seriedad pero en general es una pelicula buena, espero que con cada nueva pelicula del Dark Universe vaya subiendo los estandares de calidad

The Mummy 2017 was not a good start for universal dark universe and was a box office failure but a few people like the movie but the movie wasn't good then 1999 the mummy that got two sequels the mummy returns and the mummy tomb of the Dragon emperor and a TV series The Mummy: The Animated Series which was renamed to The Mummy: Secrets of the Medjai and the 1999 the mummy was turned into a video game for the first PlayStation and the 2001 sequel the mummy returns was turned into a video game for the PlayStation 2 and the 2017 the mummy got turn into a video game call The Mummy Demastered !

the mummy 2017 is a good reboot for the mummy series but not a good start for universal dark universe trilogy and the mummy 2017 does not have the main cast in the movie that's why fans of the 1999 the mummy did not like the 2017 reboot with Tom Cruise they felt like it was just a reset to the mummy trilogy and not a direct sequel set after the mummy tomb of the Dragon emperor

Not CGI slop from Tom. I had no clue this had its own 'universal dark pictures' studio logo and a full Jekyll and Hyde character. Setting up Cruise as the actual mummy for the franchise is just an awful decision, no wonder it died off so quickly.

This is a spectacular production based on a deeply flawed concept. So I'm going to gloss over how well made this is, the cinematography, visual effects, makeup, the sets, costume, scale and so on are all done to an incredibly high standard. This doesn't make a good film though. Here are some of the problems. Firstly Tom Cruise does not fit well in the head role, he plays the same character he always plays but here he is devoid of charm and when the person carrying the movie is unengaging then you don't have much chance. But there's more wrong with the film, they cram way too much into it and take it way too seriously without any real peril or horror. It feels like this was written by an executive committee and not a creative person. One final complaint. This simply isn't as fun or memorable as The Mummy (1999).
