The Descent

It's the most intense, unpredictable and thrilling cinematic experience I've had the pleasure to squirm through in ages.

The most exhilaratingly horrifying movie to come out in years.

Marshall takes a modest budget and a concept that isn't all that original and produces a frightening, intelligent and sexy thriller.

Prepare to be scared senseless, and then, when you think you have it figured, your certainty will be shaken by scenes built to scare you even more.

Marshall keeps the film lean and focused. He does have a nice taste for horror imagery.

The Descent may not be everything you've heard, but man, it's also a lot of things you haven't.

Compulsively watchable, with its fair share of effective sledgehammer shocks; it just isn't very good.

The Descent is a visceral, magnetic ride that grabs you from the opening scene. It uses a likable cast as well as very intense cinematography and direction to drag you into the caves with them.

this movie is so **** loud in the sound effect parts and super muffled/quiet at the dialogue parts, it's like the worst volume control like wtf??? i had to constantly upper/lower the volume throughout the movie itw as a pain in the butt.

The first cave survivor movie I've seen. It's like Wrong Turn movie. I like this quote "I'm an English teacher, not **** Tomb Raider."

Un groupe de gonzesses va jouer les andouilles sous la terre (on appelle cette connerie avec un nom savant, la « spéléologie »… autant dire un dîner de cons… souterrain) et comme elles n’ont pas le sens de l’orientation, elles se paument dans les galeries comme des connes. Cette expéditon fait penser au fameux Délivrance certes, au cours duquel un groupe de gars sont partis faire du canoé-kayak… ils pensaient s’amuser et sont tombés par hasard sur… c’était presque pareil mais pas tout à fait quand même, non, non. Mais bon, enfin, bref. Mais ici donc, on nage surtout dans la médiocrité, voire une merditude certaine, notamment la réalisation qui cumule les défauts ! mauvais éclairage, (très) mauvais montage et agitation très agitée de la caméra. Et mauvais cadrage aussi. Le film met du temps à démarrer également (du **** à l’allumage, sans doute). Mais globalement, on ne s’y ennuie pas. Ou pas trop quand même. Les filles se débrouillent quand même, surtout la miss Mendoza… mais aussi celle qui a un nom de hamburger, je crois. C’est l’héroïne en tout cas. Enfin, pour sa part, la fin elle-même n’est pas concluante et appelle une suite, je suppose… qui ne viendra que quelques années plus **** !
