I found this film to the be the weakest of the trilogy. Bane has a great introduction and arc throughout the movie with a terrible ending. The actress for Talia is a burden on this film that it never is able to recover from. It does have some good moments but it's nowhere near as good as the first two films.

i think Rises as it is, ais a stupendous, thunrous , epic cliamctic fianle. but the story asndwhere nolan took it, emoitonaly and stakes-wise felt very generic for him. This film could've been elevated and the stakes raised but doesn't. It stays at a neaturally good level until the ending. The last 10 minutes really wraps up the trilogy and ascends to premiere level for the first time. Bane is overused, the set pieces feel staged. It's not all bad, it just doesn't live up to or equate to what Nolan has / can do with his other films . This is just a spectacle epic ending, but still driven with terrific pulse and entertianmetn.

The Dark Knight Rises concludes the trilogy with great quality, it is excellent throughout, nothing to complain about it at all.

Though rather disappointing due to how good the previous films were, Dark Knight Rises is still great. The story didn't grip me the same way, I didn't care for Catwoman or really any of the characters besides a small few. Bane way great, but really the only 10/10 thing the movie has going for it.

With the death of Heath Ledger shortly before the release of The Dark Knight, the future of the series was always up in the air as to what they would do next. Some how, Nolan manages to bring the best super hero film trilogy of all time to a fitting close. Don't get me wrong it isn't perfect, but on it's worst day it's still better than most.

A more routine chapter than the previous one. It has a well-crafted plot and development even if they are quite classic for the genre. The strengths and part of the atmosphere of the previous films remain, but the story has a significantly reduced effectiveness compared to the previous chapter. It is still a good film.

This is much more thought provoking than I remember, upon a rewatch. The film wants to have two opposing ideologies, as represented by showing that Bane and the League of Shadows are technically right in their assessment of the general corruption and evil present in society, as seen in the Wayne Corp takeover and the anarchy in the closed of Gotham. It also wants to show that the answer is not anarchist freedom and chaos, but the return of order, as hundreds of heroic police officers charge the armed crowd of the corrupt people. Bruce Wayne wants to believe that people are good, yet is constantly apprehensive that they will use and abuse any power they are given, which they do, in these films. In the end, there are no heroes except momentary ones.

It has a great opening "heist" scene to challenge The Dark Knight, physio that would make even a chiropractor wince, a phoned-in soundtrack, and a stupid ending.

A perfect fit alongside Christopher Nolan's preceding Batman films, with no single chapter standing clearly above the others. Where The Dark Knight played with the conundrum of Bruce Wayne as a public mask for Batman, this installment flips the script and focuses more intently on a well-rounded civilian identity at the expense of Wayne's more notorious alter-ego. That shift in focus fits snugly alongside the presence of a more grounded, topical-tinged foil in Bane, whose grand plans aren't all that different from those of his two predecessors, but reverberate in the modern social atmosphere. The strict black-and-white nature of the very real debate at the core of Bane's scheme is my sole disappointment, really, as the shades of gray I so appreciated in the first two episodes have been subtly brushed aside. Tom Hardy performs admirably in full pantomime as the big bad, with Anne Hathaway playing a fine Catwoman (though the role seems inessential for the majority of the film), but it's Michael Caine who steals the show in a very brief, emotional final turn as Wayne's famous butler Alfred. Although he enjoys only five minutes of screen time, when the curtain falls it's his vivid performance you'll most remember. A brilliant, daring, explosive climax that expertly slams the lid on one of modern film's finest action/adventure trilogies, it surprised and impressed me from the very first word. Additional thoughts from 2013: A Blu-Ray rewatch, which already hasn't aged as gracefully as its predecessors. I loved it on my initial viewing back on opening day, but removed from the initial "wow" factor, its plot holes really start to catch the light. Anne Hathaway was an inspired choice as Catwoman, but the character doesn't really seem important or even necessary... just fluff and padding for a nigh-three-hour flick that already had enough going on. And, after thriving under the spotlight for the first two acts, Bane's sudden dismissal and the associated bait-and-switch doesn't sit particularly well with me either. Not to sound all doom and gloom, because it's still a perfectly enjoyable film and a decent enough way to wrap up the trilogy, but it does feel quite scattered and I think a lot of what I enjoyed was just leftover fumes from Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

A very great Batman movie. Maybe not as good as The Darl Knight but nevertheless still a masterpiece in its own way! Perfect end to the trilogy….

The Dark Knight Rises is both a perfect and an imperfect conclusion to Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. The story is good and interesting and even though the villain is new, his motivations are the same as Ducard's. The protagonists' journeys are satisying. I love Bruce, Jim, but this movie made Alfred my favourite character in the whole trilogy. Bruce's arc is perfect, which makes me satisfied, but I'm also unsatisfied, because I want people to know who Batman was, even though I know it made perfect sense this way. The cinematography and editing are still amazing, while the casting is even more unbelievable. The acting was overall amazing and my favourite performance was definitely Michael Cane's. On the other hand I wasn't happy with the sound design regarding Bane. It completely took me out in the beginning as it did afterwards, just not that much. All in all, I love The Dark Knight Rises for its amazing cast, satisfying writing and the really good acting performances.

This is almost definitely the greatest movie trilogy, there's only a few I can think of that compared. This movie is an amazing ending to the trilogy. It perfectly follows up the previous movies and gives Batman pretty much a perfect arc. The movie is very epic, with everything, the score, action, cinematography, and character development is all just amazingly well done. The finale brings out so much emotion and depth in the character, that you can't help but feel incredibly satisfied by the story. Bane is a really great who villain who is so interesting and actually compelling, but how his character ends in the movie feels almost cheap and underwhelming. Finally the movie has some logic that doesn't exactly make sense, specifically about Batman and Bruce Wayne. It would be so easy to figure out that Bruce Wayne is Batman, because they keep disappearing and coming back at the same time as each other. Anyways, I highly recommend for Batman fans

Nolan is overrated. Thanks to Heath Ledger, he rose to fame, but minus Heath Ledger, Nolan's Batman films are average at best. This one was a joke with Bane and Catwoman being horribly depicted and a mention of Robin which made no sense and didn't do much for the plot. The ending was silly, and overall, it didn't seem true to the comics or realistic.

This is a pretty good movie with a compelling villain. I do like that while batman is gone it forces Gotham to solve their own problems.

Transcendental. The best movie of the decade (2010s), Nolan's best film and the best superhero movie ever made. Nolan is at the top of his game here. This is filmmaking at its finest. Bane is the best villain in the history of cinema. Hardy has created something truly special. Ledger's Joker isn't close and in my opinion is overrated. Everything from Marvel is trash. This is spectacular filmmaking.

Great movie, ruined by feminism. With the ending from the comic I would have given the movie an 8-10.

My score might go down but wow I’m impressed. I loved this so much. Catwoman, great. Bane, great. Best action of the trilogy. Despite knowing the ending I still cried when Batman flew off. Alfred, Lucius, Gordon all fantastic. Banes plan was great and horrifying. The pit is a super scary and cool environment. I love this movie

A film that could solve all the problems of the previous two films and turn this trilogy into a happy memory. But it turned it into the most bitter sequel that could be made and left a lot of questions. For example, we see Bruce paralyzed in the movie, but with the help of some gadgets, he was able to stand up again! And this issue continues to be forgotten and not addressed at all. Now, the movie doesn't learn from its two biggest faults in the previous movie and makes them more severe! That is, we witness that there was no Bruce for 8 years!!! So what did you do during this time with the common thieves that I mentioned in the previous review? The rush of the movie to show zero to the hero's loss is over. What does that mean? It means that Bruce has not been around for 8 years and now he has returned with the help of some gadgets to do his duty (which he has not done in these 8 years). He turns and loses his property. When he fights against that threat, he breaks his back and is imprisoned. He finds a doctor to fix his back and comes back and defeats Bane and apparently dies!!! The volume of the story is over for one episode to the detriment of the film. The new character of the movie, John Blake, is not bad. I'll correct it: he's very good, but there's a problem: first, he knew at a glance that Bruce is Batman, and no other explanation was given! Second, at the end of the movie, we find out that he's the same Robin! Well, first of all, all 5 Robins In the world of comics, they are children. Second, if they make a mistake, they are either crude or childish. You are a policeman and have a house for yourself!!! And Bruce, even though he knew this, gave him the key to Batman's cave. And this means curd!!! Unlike the first movie, where we had a great twist from Ra's Al Ghul, here the case of his daughter is narrated in the worst way: Bane is an evil person who is stronger than Batman in every way and banishes her to a dungeon and it seems that she is the same child who Jumped out of the dungeon. This means that he is Ras Al Ghul's child and his destiny, and this is a good thing. But we understand that Miranda Tate, who does not have a correct background and is not understandable, is the same Ras Al Ghul's child. In this way, Bane's motivation for evil is ruined and the villain of the story is dragged into the mud. . However, the acting of the actors, the action sequence and loyalty in the film are shown in the best way. But it is a pity that the script is full of holes and closes the case of this trilogy...

e on the edge of my seat throughout the entire film. Christopher Nolan's brilliant direction and storytelling, coupled with Hans Zimmer's captivating score, created an immersive and thrilling experience. Christian Bale's portrayal of Batman was impeccable, and Tom Hardy's performance as Bane was truly menacing

i do not know what happened on rewatch. maybe it was the imax. maybe im just more into nolan and maybe im more into batman. maybe im more into movies in general, maybe this was just perfect timing. but not only did this movie click like never before. but i think this might be the best in the dark knight trilogy, nolan’s best movie and one of the best movies of all time. theres so much small details that i have already forgotten that all added up to this being amazing, which will make more rewatches great when i get to rediscover these small things that work so well. i will never be able to explain why. but god this is just so good. one thing i loved was scarecrow as a judge, the way that part is shot is crazy but also the concept of bane making scarecrow the judge is just great. i could go on about storytelling but honestly its just so good that i just cant explain it. this is just **** amazing

One of the best masterpiece to watch. From the starting, the movie grips the viewer. I loved Batman's character development and that he finally finds some kind of closure in life. Action scenes of Batwomen were definitely awesome. And I like that the movie put spotlight on multiple characters and not just the hero. The acting done by multiple characters in this movie is top-notch. I also enjoyed the addition of Robin in the film too. The 2 villains obviously are great and their backstory somewhat makes you want to root for them too. Both the villian and hero fights the same battles spiritually and mentally in the movie, still it ends up clearly portraying the difference between the making of a villian and a hero. Plot twists, cinematography, the score in the movie all are done terrifically. It just got a kind of uplifting vibe to it, irrespective of the darker colors and lightening chosen for the film. I love that. The movie got great quotes : But no ordinary child. A child born in hell. Forged from the suffering. Hardened by **** a man from privilege. This too: A hero can be anyone. Even a man doing something as simple and reassuring, as putting a coat around a young boy's shoulders to let him know, the world hadn't ended. And also: He says the leap to freedom is not about strength. Survival is the spirit. The soul. Fear is why you fail. You do not fear death. You think that makes you strong, it makes you weak. How can you move faster than possible, fight longer than possible, without the most powerful impulse of the spirit? The fear of death. Last one: Then make the climb. As the child did, without the rope. Once again, a great movie to watch especially when you feeling down or don't know what to watch.

Masterpiece movie. The story is so enjoyable, scoring is really great, visual is decent, and the voice is stunning

A momental conclusion for this movie. Christopher Nolan brought this character from beginning to end in his directors view. I loved every moment in this movie and especially the epic fight between the cops and Bane's mercenary, I even like the tone of it too. And Tom Hardy as Bane was brilliant and really beat the **** out of Batman. However I think Talia al Ghul's character is great but more screen time was needed. The Dark Knight Trilogy will forever be my favourite trilogy of all time. Thank you Christopher Nolan

This movie, about Batman who is coerced out of exile with the assistance of the mysterious Selina Kyle in order to defend Gotham City from the vicious guerrilla terrorist Bane, is a masterpiece of an ending to The Dark Knight Trilogy (2005-2012)! What makes me enjoying this the most out of the trilogy is the inclusion of what I missed in its predecessors despite having a love for them as well, which were Batman Begins’ (2005) mediocre third act, and The Dark Knight’s (2008) lack of emotional engagement. This movie had it all. I love the second movie, and I think it’s slightly better than the first movie, but I’m glad The Dark Knight Rises finished what Batman Begins started. It was a pure joy to watch from start to finish, but speaking of the third act in the first movie, the third act in The Dark Knight Rises was perfect, I think. It was epic and exciting with a lot of cool action, but also with a twist, where it ends with a tragedy; Batman’s death. Batman’s line “A hero can be anyone. Even a man doing something as simple and reassuring as putting a coat around a young boy's shoulders to let him know that the world hadn't ended.” gets me every time. It’s the foundation of Batman’s symbol, and it’s all about taking the initiative to make a change for the better. Batman Begins was about a hero being born based on fear, but The Dark Knight Rises was about rising after the fall, which is thanks to Bruce’s father Thomas Wayne. This movie was an emotional ride, and what I found most emotional was Alfred Pennyworth crying by the Waynes’ grave, but also the public, memorial statements about Batman with the beautiful soundtrack in background by composer Hans Zimmer. It felt so heavy to think about the loss of Batman and his sacrifice for Gotham after many years work. Batman was a hero, but also more than a hero. He was a symbol of hope during the darkest times to all kinds of people until the light shined again. Bane’s task was to destroy Gotham without exception and hesitation with the use of pure terror, and he terrified in every way. I think Joker was the most interesting villain in the trilogy, mainly because of his psychology. However, he was brutal, but Bane was brutal on another level. Joker preferred to surprise people with his actions based on his sneaky ideas, but Bane preferred to force people to watch and feel every detail of his actions from start to finish no matter how terrorizing they were. You could actually count how many times he broke a neck, and he even killed his own men without hesitation to get what he wanted. Just his look was terrifying enough. I had mixed thoughts about his voice, but it was very peculiar, which made him even scarier. You recognized him as soon as you heard his voice. The choreography of Bane’s fighting is one of the best ones I have ever seen. It was extremely brutal and fast, and his moves weren’t just regular movie moves. You could almost feel the pain of every single punch and kick by him. The technical aspects made this movie cinematically epic. The general cinematography was my favorite technical element, but also the general sound and of course the soundtrack by Zimmer made this experience extremely enjoyable. The soundtrack in this one has a more terrorizing and brutal style compared to the beautiful and clean melody in the first movie, and the raw, electric guitar sound in The Dark Knight, which helped to make a perfect conclusion to the trilogy. In conclusion, this movie serves as a captivating finale where it expertly filled the elements that its predecessors lacked, such as Batman Begins' mediocre third act and The Dark Knight's lack of emotional depth. The third act in this movie is particularly remarkable, delivering epic action intertwined with a tragic twist—the death of Batman. This moment, coupled with Batman's profound words about heroism and hope, solidifies his legacy as a symbol of inspiration. Bane, portrayed as a brutal and terrifying antagonist, adds another layer of intensity to the movie. I overall think that this is a good movie and it sets up the BatBale/Dark Knight trilogy well I'm kind of pressed by this movie but no so much. Action, I think that the action in this movie is very good who ever made the action did it very well. Acting, I think that the action in this movie is a straight perfect/10/10 Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman they all did a wonderful and amazing job they nailed it once more. CGI, in my opinion the CGI was perfect. Villain, I did not like Bane at all I thing that he was a disappointment. Writing is great but it could have been a bit better. Story/Plot I think that there was a good plot twist with Talia al Gul. Casting, I thin that the casting is very good no doubt about it Christian Bale & Anne Hathaway did a perfect job. Characters are perfect without a doubt. Mystery, I liked the mystery I think that he mystery should have been a bit better. Ending, I think that the ending is one of the best parts of the movie for obvious reasons I really love this ending definitely one of the best Batman endings.

"We went for the historical epic, the disaster film," Nolan says. After having overcome his fear in "Batman Begins," and defeated his biggest foe to date in "The Dark Knight," the stakes are ramped up for Bruce Wayne in "The Dark Knight Rises." Holed up for 8 years, Bruce is still reeling from Rachel's death. When Bane, a former member of the league of Shadows, makes his appearance, Bruce finds a reason to don the cowl and cape again. The film circles back to the League of Shadows, with Bane and Talia al Ghul setting out to fulfill Ra's al Ghul's destiny: destroy Gotham city. Bruce's story arc is incredibly powerful as we see just how far he falls. Bane quite literally breaks his body and spirit, casting him into a pit with no way out and condemning him to helplessly watch his city be destroyed. The symbolism of climbing out of the pit, using the story of a child who escaped only because she jumped without a rope, is the defining moment in the trilogy for Bruce. He once again harnesses his fear and uses it as a tool to overcome his demons. Another emotionally rewarding arc the film provides is that of Bruce and Alfred, the man who has known him for his entire life and stood by his side through it all. When first discussing the role with Michael Caine, Chris told him, "This is a character who is going to have the potential to steal the whole movie." He was absolutely right. Because Bruce and Alfred's relationship was built-up so well, "The Dark Knight Rises" features several moments that pay-off emotionally. Consider the scene where Alfred tells Bruce how he imagined seeing him while on holiday, desperate to know that he was safe. Or the heartbreaking scene where, in a bid to dissuade Bruce from going up against Bane, Alfred resigns, something which obviously pains him to do. Also adding emotional weight to the film is the score by Hans Zimmer. In his Masterclass, the composer states it's the one film soundtrack he always wanted to make, and it's certainly an achievement. The motifs–from Catwoman, to Bane, to Bruce Wayne rising out of the pit–are all brilliant, textured to fit each character and theme. In the 11 years since the trilogy concluded, I never considered "The Dark Knight Rises" my favorite of the bunch. After having rewatched the films back-to-back for the purposes of these reviews, I can safely say it is my favorite. It's the summation of all of the ideas and themes the previous films covered, and the completion of the arcs of its characters. The trilogy, undeniably influential and groundbreaking, was handled with an acute perception of the issues of humanity's past, present and future. Not simply a great "superhero" series, but great cinema. Period.

Still get a perfect trilogy capper! Just flawless. Chris Nolan’s direction is impeccable here as he crates such a realistic approach to the films tone. Both Chris and Jonathan Nolan’s screenplay is very clever in that it is secretly a sequel to Batman begins rather then the dark knight which is clever. The story is so emotionally complex and gripping. I’m really glad Batman wasn’t in it that much and really focused more on the character of Bruce Wayne and gave him more development. The scenes in the pit are fantastic because it really shows Bruce learning to become Batman again. Tom hardy as Bane is simply terrifying! My god I love this film! Wally Pfister‘s cinematography is very grandiose and epic, Han Zimmer’s score is absolutely amazing! Bane’s theme is extremely menacing as well as “Necessary Evil” being a highlight. Lee Smith‘s editing is very important in creating a sense of urgency and clarity. His use of cross cutting is so well done. This is my personal favourite of the trilogy because it really peels back the layers of Bruce as a person as well as showcasing Gotham as a character. Still a flawless masterpiece. 10/10. The 4K HDR10 grade is mastered at 1399nits at it has a really nice yellowish hue to it. Highlights are very nice and pop well. Detail and shadow detail are nicely balanced. Black levels are again raised but that’s part of the film print. The DTS MA 5.1 mix is flawless. Fronts are used so well, surrounds are used immersivly during action sequences and the LFE channel is once again booming

Batman has always been my favourite "superhero", eventhough he does not have any superpowers, which is also why he is so damn cool. He is not born with superpowers or anything, he just had a very tragic childhood with his parents getting killed in front of him, which is the main reason why he decides to become the protector of Gotham. No superpowers, just his wits, combat training and gadgets! Everything in this movie is perfection. The whole Dark Knight trilogy is PERFECTION and it is one of my favourite trilogies of all time. The cast is perfect in this movie. Everyone fit their role perfectly. The performances are incredible. The villains are so good. Tom Hardy as Bane, with that voice, it could not have been better. Anne Hathaway makes an excellent Catwoman as well. The story focuses more on Bruce Wayne in this movie, like in Batman Begins. It is dark, emotional and well written. The fights are amazing as usual, especially when Bane is involved. I really liked the twist in the end with Miranda Tate, which I did not see coming! The reveal of Robin was epic as well and I would have loved a movie from Nolan about that. The relationship between Bruce and Alfred in this movie is both heartwarming and heartbreaking. Very emotional. I also like the chemistry between Batman and Catwoman. Lucius Fox is great as usual. "And yes, Mr. Wayne, it does come in black." This whole trilogy is truly a masterpiece. Every movie is good in its own way. What an epic conclusion to this trilogy. Batman got the ending he deserved. Well done Nolan! 10/10!

The concluding film of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises is one of the best adaptations of the caped crusader. Almost a decade after stopping the Joker, Batman (Christian Bale) steps away from the shadows of Gotham's exile to defend the city against the brutal antagonist Bane (Tom Hardy). With the bar set extremely high following the success and acclaimed reception of The Dark Knight, not only did Nolan have to fill his own big shoes, but Hardy needed to create a villain just as worthy of audiences' praise following Heath Ledger's Joker. The film succeeded on all fronts and was an excellent send-off for Bale's Batman.

Finally have seen the ending to Christopher Nolan's epic, legacy-defining trilogy. TDKR is a mixture of both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight but in a grander way. Bigger story, bigger impact, and bigger conclusions. Great music and impressive visuals (IMAX scenes were so so good) once again, too noteworthy to not mention. The new characters were all fantastic additions, from Catwoman, John Blake, and to Miranda Tate. Most specifically Tom Hardy's Bane, a very unique portrayal of one of Batman's iconic foes from the comic books. Besides that, I think this solidifies Christian Bale as the definitive Bruce Wayne and Dark Knight. He took the role to another level in the entire series, almost like laying a standard for what Batman should be in cinema. Pattinson is my personal favorite, but Bale was born for this role and he showed why. Wonderful finale to a legend.

Grossing over $1 billion worldwide, The Dark Knight Rises became the second Batman film to hit the billion mark, and also stands as Christopher Nolan’s highest-grossing flick to date. Quite rightly it received a store of praise from critics and stands as a triumphant successor to the two previous films. With superb performances all round topped with a truly terrifying turn from Hardy, this is one that didn’t just rise, but blew expectations out of the water.
