Slender Man 2018 was a really bad movie it was just not good they should've just kept the scenes they cut from the movie to really make this movie look more scary instead of just some cheesy horror movie that doesn't even scare you it just really just ticks you off on how Bad they made the movie like they could've done banner or there could've been a partition to re-shoot the movie and add the scenes that we saw from the trailer or just don't post a trailer with the sea that we're supposed to see in the movie that we're spoiling the whole thing just let the scene be in the movie and not even show them and then just cut them from the movie or just come out with a Slender Man directors cut that would be good

A visually competent and decently acted horror film that falls short emotionally, offering mild originality but little lasting impact.

This really is as bad as you’d expect. It is the epitome of bad PG-13 horror films. What is wrong with it? Everything except the production quality (cinematography, sound design etc) but that doesn’t matter when you don’t have any characters, story or anything original to offer. The start couldn’t be less engaging. The characters are horrible. The genre is ‘urban legend’ film like Ringu (1998) but terrible although I have seen worse films. The only technical problem is that it’s too dark to tell what’s happening even when it’s meant to be daylight. The acting and the direction are actually fine, the issue is the atrocious writing and complete lack of creativity. It’s not even bad-entertaining it’s bad-boring and so forgettable that it basically never existed.

In a small town in Massachusetts, four high school girls perform a ritual in an attempt to debunk the lore of Slender Man. When one of the girls goes mysteriously missing, they begin to suspect that she is, in fact, his latest victim.

This Movie is really boring and it is one of the most watered down and generic horror movies ever made i wouldn't be surprised if it was rushed which is a shame because it had a lot of potential

Nothing wrong with movie per se in terms of scares and premise. Just pretty cliche and with the filming done mostly in dark scenes it is difficult to watch/see the action as anything more than tryhard. Pretty sure I didn’t actually see more than 50% of movie due to darkness

Movie theaters in Waukesha County, Wisconsin refused to show this movie due to its controversy. If you live in that area, consider yourself lucky. I wouldn't be surprised if the director hadn't played the game, since this adaptation has practically zero resemblance! Collecting pages is something that is never shown or spoken of, in favor of stupid teenagers summoning haunted visions from the internet (subtle message). The jump scares and bad CGI from other garbage horror movies can be found here, plus something else - There is a dream sequence that lasts about five minutes! I couldn't believe that everything I had seen in those five minutes didn't actually happen! The production company is Screen Gems, which after watching this film, sounds like a joke.

Hands down the worst horror movie I’ve ever seen. Extremely dumb story, horrible characters, and ultimately extremely forgettable

Slender-Man works well as a creepypast, but as a horror movie, not. I love the creepypast, so please don't make it thick with this movie.

Growing up slenderman was always so iconic in the horror genre, and Sony straight up ruined it for me, good job!

Very disappointing to the point of booing for the movie to be over with the movie is not scary or even convincing the only thing that is good is the films film score by Ramin Djawadi and Brandon Campbell (game of thrones)

"Slenderman" was a horrible movie and I could not say it another way, a very boring story with an awful final, horrific performances, disposable special effects and a plot that served to premiere in the past decade, in the end we realized that waiting is not worth it, no way.

Nearly fell asleep a few times watching it. It was neither scary or interesting, The "acting" is laughable and it really is a movie that they wanted far too long to do. They should have done during the initial Slender Man craze rather than years later when it's all but dead and gone. And a big issue for me is that the film is so dark, You can barely see the special effects. Heck, Slender Man is rarely even onscreen let alone viewable.

The movie is unintentionally funny, but really boring, however it's not as bad as people say it is, cinematography is great, the score is above average, the way they portrayed Slenderman was cool, the color was good, Joey King did good, but that's it.

The well cinema adaption of Slender man character. I can't say that this is great work of horror style, but I can say in honestly that it has the marvelous and scary soundtracks (like "It follows") and psychedelic scenes with the game of reality of main persons. The director of the film was able to transfer the Slender man's main idea - it's the virus

I know it's late to make a Halloween Specials, but here we are! Okay, Slender Man was one of the most anticipated movie of 2018.. I enjoyed playing the game and listening to these urban legends about him, but this movie was.. EH!!!!
Just to know, this review is gonna be a funny review actually. Slender Man is directed by Sylvain White, written by David Birke and starring Joey King, Julia Goldani Telles and Jaz Sinclair. The story is about a group of girls summoning Slender Man and when he got summoned, one of them gets missing, and the others trying to run away from him.. this is the whole story! Now, that's what I call a horror-pranks film, it's full of unscary scenes, with Slender Man pranking these girls.. or poor girls.. how did you talk all these pranks from a man without a face? First of all, let's count the dumb choices in this movie...
1. They summoned Slender Man from a website, by a link says "SUMMON HIM". I mean what kind of creatures can be summoned from a website?
2. To "summon him", you must watch a video and follow the instructions in the video, and when you're done, congratulation, Slender Man is summoned, go and have fun with him!
3. Slender Man is a good pranker! He made me laugh a lot with his pranks... What's dumber than making a pranker creature in a horror movie? 4. Oh, yeah, the cast was dumber than Slender Man. 5. Slender Man, please, grow up.. stop playing with the trees, it's noisy!! 6. The CGI of Slender Man was like a man with some toilet paper rolled around his face. 7. This message is for the developers of this "game", please, fix the glitch of the faces, and the horror-dreaming stuff. 8. One more thing, please, fix the performances too, cause they are bad! 9. The finale.. LOL! 10. And now, the dumbest thing in the movie award goes to... The script! Congrats to the script, it was super-dumb! WOW, this movie is terribly bad! As I said, it was one of the most anticipated movies of the whole year, but it disappointed me very very much! It easily became one of the worst movies of 2018 -if it's not the worst already-! One more thing, why Katie's father thinks that "people can not just disappear"? Wake up, MR. There's something called kidnapping, didn't you hear about it? I think you already know what I'm gonna give this terrible movie, don't you? Yup, it's definitely an F!! Okay, guys, thank you as always for reading my review, let me know if you like my reviews or not, and I welcome all the comments.

One of the worst horror movies i've ever seen in my life, terrible movie, and based on a legend that is dead in 2011/2012.

Some good visuals with little else. There is an idea here mixed with a lot of poor acting and pointless story telling. The actors emotional level is on 100 throughout this film and there is scene after scene of the same concepts but the plot never moves forward. Overall a low 4 a D+.

Wow. Coming from someone who wants nothing more than to find the good in even the worst scare flicks, this is one impressively unaccomplished movie. To take a character this ripe for cinematic portrayal and wind up with such a veritable carnival of paint-by-numbers blandness is truly a notable feat. There is some moderate visual flair and some not-bad-at-all cinematography in this movie, but it all gets put to waste by the complete poverty of innovation. I'll be honest, I didn't make it past the 60 minute mark. So it's possible that it picks up later, but even if the last 20 minutes miraculously turned into an Exorcist-worthy climax, no moviegoer should be forced to sit through the preceding two acts to get to it.

The main problem here is that they are teenagers and I am almost forty so I have no interest in their lives. Nevertheless, the movie itself is watchable and well produced but I am looking for more mature plots.

A group of friends decide, in a house of one of them during the night, to summon the slender man starting of a link on the internet, and some time after that they start to have nightmares, seeing things in the woods and after a bit sometime one of them disappear without any clue of what happened, then the friends go and do their own investigations to find out what could have happened. Directed by Sylvain White and written by David Birke.
The story of this movie is very simple and cliche, it just don't have or increment any new thing in this kind of movie, even the prologue of everything is cliche and a bit ridiculous if you think a bit about it, like, they watch a video in some website and close their eyes, them they are cursed, this is so little creative and repetitive in movies like this. There are some moments that the characters do some dumb thigs, they make pretty clear that they can't uncover their eyes in one moments and see SlenderMan or they are going to be mentally destroyed somehow, and after 10 seconds one of the characters does this exact thing and one second later all of them with the same thing. The movie try to give some possible ways to combat the monsterm, but it is so weak the way that they did it, one of them get to one place to take something, them she takes it and it got mentioned one other time, but it does have zero influence during the course of the movie, it didn't made any sense. The conclusion of the story is also pretty down, like characters saying one thing and doing another, it got so slow in a point that it didn't even scare you anymore, this a high problem in this movie, the script could have been a bit better done and creative. Another big problem in this movie, is that, that the characters aren't much relatable in a way that you would care and cheer for them, there isn't much development for them, and the little bit that happend it didn't really implies in you caring for them, cosidering that this movie is about people in dangerous and not about the monster, they had to make we care for them to this work better, unfortunately it didn't worked out in this way.
The sound of the movie are great, for real, they are done with maestry, there are a lot of moemnts during the movie that i got scared, and it was very thanks to the sound design here, it is very similar to sound that happened in the game from years ago, a very strange and messy thing, wich did represented in sound the creepy and crazy creature very well, the sound in the forest, the details that they did applied in the audio section, made this movie be scary.
One thing that they did here and it gave us very nice moments, is the suggestiveness, in a lot of moments you see a shadow or a tree, and you be like that it could be that or not, it is good, letting our mind work to see something or not, that did happened a lot witht the characters to, just that in some moments it was very ridiculous, but mainly at the start of the movie, it did worked out very well.
The acting is not the best neither the worst. Joey King did a very nice character, the problem is that she didn't had any development, the little that i cared about her, it was because of the actress. Julia Goldani had a bit more emotional moment, i think that she did well in some moments, but mostly of the movie she had a poker face that didn't pleased me very much. Jaz Sinclair also had the most cliche faces during some moments, unfortunately she didn't had much time to work or room to do different things.
The CGI is awful here, like it is the worst 10 million dollar budget cgi ever, they did turned the light out of the movie in a lot of moments, wich could have been good to hide the bad cgi, but even with that, the cgi is so exposed and so bad and fake that when they show him, the fear kind of go away, because it is so fake, the creature naturally have a strange form and could scare people easily, but the did invented somethings here with the trees that just didn't worked for me.
The movie was working better when the thing was being more of a mental situation, but when they decide to show and interact with the monster physically, things stop working.

This movie is a complete joke. It doesn't achieve any of the things that a horror movie should and it almost looks like they're not trying. It's not even close to being scary, the characters feel extremely forced and the story in general makes little to no sense.

I thought Slenderman and his big story had left us in 2014. From its beginning to the end it does not convince us in any way. Why does everything have to be a terror on the internet? 3.5/10

So...I'm a bit of a film snob, and a dyed-in-the-wool horror fanatic. In recent years I've migrated more to video games, since horror movies don't scare me that much any more. That said: I would love to see a list of "better" or "more original" horror movies released in the past few years, from the slew of people calling this movie "bad". Sure it doesn't hold a candle to "It Follows", and "A Quiet Place" is certainly a good deal more ambitious, but...c'mon. SERIOUSLY. Where are all the great recent horror films that justify giving this film a 1 or 2 out of 10? I found it all quite dignified and restrained - things are mostly kept in the realm of the psychological - and it has some of the best "teen" casting I've seen in years (i.e. I could actually tell the characters apart). If you expected a horror film of the ilk of John Carpenter's "The Thing", you're a FREAKING EEJIT. Given the current cesspool that is modern mainstream cinema, I'm giving it a 7.5 (rounded up to an 8 for this site, just to spite you all). Gimme this over a Marvel movie any day of the week.
