Migration is funny, cute and has a nice message. Nothing to complain about here.

Migration was SO CLOSE to being an actually amazing movie, it was straining to reach for that title but JUST couldn't make it. I can see why it got 56, but I agree MUCH more with the 70 review and therefore will stick to associating it with that instead, You should too.

The film "Migration" presents a pleasant and entertaining narrative, permeated by a balanced humor that varies between subtle jokes and comic scenes, without exaggeration. The plot is straightforward, avoiding the introduction of villains or complex subplots, making it a pleasant option for those who want to enjoy relaxed moments and appreciate an animation quality comparable to titles such as "Super Mario - The Movie" and "Despicable Me". The excessive simplicity of the plot can be considered a point of attention in "Migration". The linearity of the story, marked by situations that seem to occur by chance, can challenge the viewer's suspension of disbelief. However, it is essential to point out that, in animated productions, it is crucial to allow yourself to get into the atmosphere of the film, which can result in entertaining moments, despite these peculiarities. All in all, "Migration" proves to be a pleasant surprise, not only for its captivating visual aesthetics, but also for the empathy of the characters and the uncomplicated approach, avoiding unnecessary dramatic excesses. The movie sets out to be a simple experience: to provide entertainment, fun and a few laughs, offering a pleasant refuge to relax and unwind from the routine.

Migration
In this animated comedy, a flock of ducks embarks on a migration journey from New England to Jamaica. Migration follows a very simple premise but it weaves a very thrilling journey into it. Mack, the father of the flock, is very guarded and just wants his family to live out their life in their pond. But his wife and son yearn for adventure and coax him into giving in to the migration. Kim, the young daughter, is willing to go with whatever the family decides, and with the family deciding on migration, she convinces Uncle Dan, Mack's uncle, to join on this trip. Looking for sibling squabbles, heartfelt family dynamics, and an adventure about embracing life's challenges? "Migration" delivers all that and more. Mack's desire to protect his family sometimes hampers their freedom, echoing the struggle many parents face in balancing care with independence. Dax and Kim yearn for more autonomy and opportunities to explore life's possibilities. The love between the parents, Pam and Mack, is so sweet and can rival most live-action movies. The sibling love here is also beautiful. Much praise should be given to the voice actors, with Tresi Gazal as Gwen being the most notable. She manages to be the heart of the movie, and her adorableness is just infectious. The animation style is fitting and the style of comedy used is very typical of other illumination animations. The runtime is simply perfect, it delivers its message and ends before it can get tiring, with this, it's hard to find fluff scenes. Migration is cuckoo, fun, and wild. I'd like to see more adventures from this flock of ducks. So gather your flock and embark on this heartwarming journey.

Illumination have been on fire with their movies over the last couple of years - Minions: The Rise Of Gru was hysterically funny and the Mario movie, while a little bit twee, was still fantastic. So it pains me to say that Migration is one of the most disappointing animated movies I've seen for a long time, possibly the biggest let down since the DC Superpets movie. As always the animation is fantastic, but there's not much humour to be found here, everything funny about it was in the trailer. I won't put any spoilers but a big chunk of the plot seemed to be stolen from the new Chicken Run sequel. Also for such a short film it really dragged and got quite boring - I could've easily got up and left the cinema after almost an hour had I not realised there was only about 20 minutes left. It's a shame as I was really looking forward to this one, but it's only marginally better than Disney's Wish. I hope Despicable Me 4 is much better than this.

A very solid MEH. There's nothing terrible, but nothing here you'll remember. There's no characters you love but no characters you hate either. Nearly every joke felt forced and fell flat with a precious couple chuckles. Nothing worth actually laughing at. It just feels like there was no direction or vision here outside of someone's moldy old playbook and you're just left with a heavily predictable stereotypical story arc full of old tropes that have been done a thousand times before that you would expect from a direct to DVD kids movie. The fact this was green lit for a feature length film only shows how desperate Hollywood has gotten for anything original. Go ahead and watch it if it's on a streaming service for free and you have little kids, but there's next to nothing here for parents and you'll forget everything about it within a day or two. Even my little ones were bored within minutes. A new low for Illumination.

What a cute film from Illumination. Fun for the whole family and better than I thought it would be!

Kinda just boring, generic Illumination affair, won't lie. Not PAINFUL per say, but its hardly worth seeking out and definitely won't stick with you. Actively hated that Dad though, he was genuinely obnoxious and his arc flatly didn't work for me. The voice acting is kinda cute, I guess. Don't get why people seemed to like this one so much; it's nothing special.

Illumination kicked this one out of the park - it is the cutest family movie that I've seen in a while. The adventure to breaking out of being fearful and afraid to experience new things as it correlates to these quirky ducks and their ducklings was both cute, funny and heartwarming. I enjoyed the watch and would recommend it to those looking for cute family entertainment for all audiences. It's a fun family fun that teaches how to overcome fear to face the world with courage and bravery while staying true to what matters and never giving up the fight for your loved ones, freedom and happiness. Life is an adventure, after all, and this family movie teaches the lesson of living it with grace and appreciation. Five stars.

It's Beautiful, something fresh, but has some problems. The critic's ratings for this film are stupid, ok, let's start with the Visuals and designs, It's clear it has personality and my God those feathers, the water, I could lick my screen. As for the character designs, 90% of them are hit, and the others are miss.
The voice acting is above average here. Now let us turn our attention to the story, It is well-contained with the simple goal that it has, while also allowing for a sequel to come into play. Would I watch it, yes very Much Yes. This is a nice film with its funny moments, but it is short and you can feel it because the film, decides to end and doesn't stop and bake a little, more encounters should have been added to this film, so it could be close to 2 hours. I feel like Illumination was given a smaller budget by Universal and was forced to edit something under the time they had. And if anyone is asking this isn't a RIO Clone, this animation stands on its own. So the main Problems are Some designs are not good, the story is cut short which affects the impact of the film, and the run time is short affecting everything else. I feel illumination is now falling out of the formulaic way they used to make animation in the past years, please do more risky and wild ideas for your animations, it will do you wonders. So overall, and I'm fighting between a 7 or 8 here, I think this is an 8, but by the slim idea that this has more potential than what the film thinks it is.
What do I mean, I mean it feels like Madagascar but focused on Birds. See Disney is the Quality Bar you need to hit, Thank you, everyone, that made this animation, now do the sequel even better, you can do it. OH and Credit where it's due, Tresi Gazal, you voiced GWEN, Outstanding job, and that doesn't come easily from me.
The character you voiced was done to utter perfection.
I don't know who you are or what you've done, but you are damn good. OK review over.

IN A NUTSHELL:
It's directed by Benjamin Renner and Guylo Homsy. Writing credits also go to Benjamin Renner, as well as Mike White.
It's already received a nomination for Best Original Score by the HMMA. Keegan-Michael Key recently won the Award for Film Excellence from the MMCG too! Believe it or not, this is the 4th time he has voiced a bird! Those roles were in The Angry Birds, The Star, and Toy Story 4. THINGS I LIKED:
Kudos to Keegan-Michael Key on his performance. He's consistently fantastic in everything he does. If you want to see him in a fun Christmas movie, you should definitely watch Jingle Jangle on Netflix.
Awkwafina has now voiced a bird three times after doing Storks (2016) and The Little Mermaid this year.
It's great to hear Danny DeVito's voice in an animation. This is only his 2nd time working with Illumination since his 2012 movie The Lorax.
I always get a kick out of hearing Carol Kane's unique voice.
Other talented voices in the cast include Elizabeth Banks, Kumail Nanjiani, David Mitchell, and Caspar Jennings.
There's a lot of visual humor, in addition to the verbal jokes.
The musical score was composed by John Powell.
The action sequences are almost non-stop.
Viewers will get a kick out of being introduced to a lot of characters during the adventure.
Overall, the movie is family-friendly, and something the whole fam can do during the holidays.
THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE:
I was bored within minutes.
I'm REALLY tired of movies that elevate women while simultaneously making men look like buffoons...human or bird.
This is the classic kids' movie that makes a lot of noise and keeps them distracted while disinterested parents can wash the dishes and clean the house.
So much of the movie is cliched, including the obligatory, happy dance scene celebration at the end of the film. TIPS FOR PARENTS:
Some physical violence
Different kinds of weapons are used.
Lots of talk of cooking animals.
Kids might be interested in learning more about Jamaica and where it's located because of what they see in the film.

Entertaining movie, I was super excited to see this movie with my family. And I have to say, I was very impressed with Migration.
The comedy was great, my kids and I couldn't stop laughing especially with all the Uncle Dan scenes.
It has a lot of heartwarming family values, that I really appreciate in a movie.
And overall, it's a fun entertaining movie. These are the type of movies we need to support.
