The first Chicken run was solid and all and I get that it was a huge success both critically and comercially, but HOW ON EARTH DID IT EVER WARRANT A SEQUE- This movie? It ain't all that great, I'll say that.

As close to flawless as it gets. Maybe, just maybe, it starts off just a tiny bit slow in my opinion, but I low key couldn't care less.

Shrek truly is the most charismatic protagonist of all time and the "All-star" number is as iconic as it gets, but the running gag with lord Farquaad being short is as hypocritical as good movies can get.

I appreciate the self-esteem messages and that truly transcendent performance of "Holding out for a hero" during the climax as much as the next person, but there are too many plot-holes and inconsistencies for me to really consider this movie perfect, as many people do.

This movie is just so epic. It's emotional, funny, cute, wholesome, it's Shaun the sheep, bottom line. Minions (same year, funnily enough) made everyone think that silent movies based on comedic relief characters from a previous series were just conceptually flawed from top to toe, those people should watch this instead and see what real cinema is.

Yeah, what can I even add at this point? Truly a bland, uninspired cash grab that even goes as far as to go against it's alleged "Moral of the 'story'" don't watch it unless you hate the life you live THAT much.

This is just Ratatouille if it was a bland, unfunny and scattershot mess with zilch to give it's audience in terms of humour, excellence, or any of the additional layers Ratatouille has in addition to it's basic premise.

I like Despicable Me the first as much as the next person, for sure, but COME ON! This movie is just a more emotionally mature and realistic version of that! I like what Despicable Me tells it's audience, but Megamind's themes on Nature vs Nurture and the fact that some people just don't deserve fame and power (ironic for a movie with the same plot as Despicable me, huh) just interest me so much more. 9/10 take it or leave it.

Could you believe that--on Rotten Tomatoes--this movie has a 4.6 star audience rating, is verified hot, and 95% audience reviews? To be part of that 95 percent, you either haven't seen the first one or you're too dumb to know what makes a good movie. It sure as hell ain't this!

Where's the environmental message? Where's literally anything that made the original book such a classic? Well, at least we got classics like 'let it grow' and 'how bad can I be?' in favour of this, am I right?

Migration was SO CLOSE to being an actually amazing movie, it was straining to reach for that title but JUST couldn't make it. I can see why it got 56, but I agree MUCH more with the 70 review and therefore will stick to associating it with that instead, You should too.

The hell do you mean "WoRsT oNe Of ThEm AlL"??? Did you even WATCH Shrek the Third? That one was the worst BY FAR. This one has the strongest emotional core out of all of them, and while, yes, it isn't as funny as the first two entries, it still made me smile more due to the apocalypse of wholesome moments throughout. I PERSONALLY would have to say that the Shrek series ended on a stronger note than it began, DESPITE the loss of the series' quirky humour, DESPITE-- Uhm-- Wait-- I can't even think of any reasons why you'd hate it past that singular minuet point! Wow, Shrek grew up with his audience! WHAT A SHOCKER GUYS! It's STILL a god damn masterpiece! 8.7/10 second best Shrek behind No. 2 still a must watch. END. OF.

If you just want to not think for 90 minutes and just have a blast, Spongebob and the gang are your guys. If you DO want to think, guess what? This movie STILL delivers! It tackles having your peers lack belief in you and, as a result, having you get brushed to the side, despite you knowing deep down you can achieve. SO, whatever way you choose to watch it, you'll have a blast! 10/10 must watch!

Marginally better than the already decent-enough first movie. This one definitely has more of the smarts that the main series had at it's inception, even if the plot is still a tad on the scattershot side.

Even with the downwards spiral of the franchise--that was inevitable after 6 GOD DAMN ENTRIES--being intact, it still manages to disappoint. There's a handful of moments that could've easily diverted gracefully into an emotional finale for the series, but instead this is the most "No Despicable me, all Minions" movie in the franchise to date, even more than some of the Minions movies. On the lighter side, the 'Mega Minions' B-plot was somewhat enjoyable in terms of brainrot, and I like how the minions are now childminders for Gru's children.

It's ok and all, but loses what made the original such a (pretty) good movie. Apart from one or two outstanding emotional sequences here and there, most of it's 90-minute runtime is renovated into Minions gags. Despite these setbacks, however, it still succeeds in expanding the world of Despicable me and answering many questions viewers would likely have, such as "How does Gru manage after leaving villainy behind?" and "Where was the law during the events of the first movie?" so, overall, it's certainly somewhat of a time.

I, personally, got REALLY engaged in Gru's change of heart and loads of witty moments landed, many tearjerkers landed, the soundtrack is genuinely so good, it is insane just how this movie is so just chef's kiss, for Illumination standards. But, on it's own, it's still pretty fun. Sure, It hasn't aged like a fine wine or anything and still has some cheap moments scattered throughout but that's inevitable for a low-budget, sixteen year old movie, is it not? I still enjoy it!

Despite what the critics say, I enjoyed it. It put a dumb, giddy smile onto my face--albeit not changing me much afterwards--and was overall a pretty good time. It was, however, REALLY inconsistent and at least 1 of the 20-or-so subplots could've been removed.
