This movie is so bad that it's honestly ironically good, it's genuinely fun to nitpick what went so wrong with this movie, like how the movie completely tarnishes the message it wanted to tell, by softening the movie, removing a song for being to "anti-corporate"? IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE CORPORATE YOU DERANGED...

The movie progressively gets worse. It starts out nice & funny, with them killing all their masters. Honestly genuinely funny. Then we reach New York, still decent, & we meet this nice crime family, which is a concept that loved, then we just abandon them for Scarlet Overkill & NEVER see them again. Wasted potential there, but then there's a kinda funny scene of Herb trying to kill the minions, but they enjoy it? Anyways, after that, the movie loses everything you'd want. Just incredibly loose plot for the sake of cheap jokes. First 30 minutes is decent, don't watch after that.

Decent, I guess. The movie is so caught up in wanting to show you every cute animal ever, that the movie fails to develop plot. Kevin Hart bunny is nice, Duke is Duke, & that's all this is. Good for those who love pets, but it is critically flawed. Still, much better than the sequel.

Good music, but not tight enough plot. The majority of the characters are cliche, & when it's not on the main plot, it's fairly tiring. Best parts are the first 10 minutes & the ending performances.

Doesn't really do anything to sub-verge from how this story was told before, but it inevitably softens the message, squandering what it was trying to tell. & Pharrell Williams as narrator? WHY?!!? The story doesn't really compel, but at its core, it's still a Grinch movie, & the Grinch himself is sometimes mildly interesting. Also the climax is alright, I guess.

While not the most heart-felt movie, it is a ride start to finish, with very tight plot with great references here & there.

While the movie's start was looking to make this movie a disappoint, & while the plot took small shortcuts taken here & there, when this movie thrills, it THRILLS. The universe feel so much more expanded then the original, eons more funny, lots of engaging moments in the plot, the best climax I believe Illumination has & will ever have, it's more dramatic, more emotional, it is everything you could want and more. Amazing job, Illumination!
