Jessie Nelson’s film sells itself well. There’s care in the details, and the characters often feel like actual people.

The vignettes sometimes resonate with the viewer but don’t really connect into a plot, there are too many characters with too many stories and pretty good flashbacks, and some of the jokes are impossible to laugh out loud at unless you’re a highly trained and paid actor.

A strange yet quite enjoyable film with great stars that make up the dysfunctional yet oddly realistic Cooper family with John Goodman and Diane Keaton effectively portraying the patriarchs in this existential but familiar movie!

This movie was not on my must see list, but a friend really wanted to see it. I expected a stupid, slapstick, family "comedy" with lots of crude jokes and pratfalls. Wrong! I really enjoyed this movie! I found myself getting very involved with the individual stories of each family member. This is not a horrible movie. The story I was least interested in was the line involving Ed Helms. It was not memorable for me. The plot line with Olivia Wilde was probably the most engrossing, but Marisa Tomei's story was pretty cool too. The thing I cared least about was the story involving Diane Keaton and her husband John Goodman. It was horribly contrived and not believable at all to me. It is not "The Family Stone" for sure, but it is better than. Any other Christmas family movies.

A movie that should be punctuated like a Christmas card sign-off but instead, losing a comma, becomes an off-putting directive. How Robert De Niro didn’t make it to this set is a mystery for the ages.

It’s a frustrating thing to unsnarl. Straddling the thorny fence of dramedy, Love the Coopers is a sometimes too serious, often not funny entry in this year’s tra-la-la movie sweepstakes.

What a difference a comma makes — or would make, in the case of Jessie Nelson's lumpy, wretchedly unfunny Love the Coopers, whose title commands us to love people it's impossible even to like.

Love the Coopers is one of the most jumbled, tonally misguided holiday movies in recent memory. It is an insult to tidings of comfort as well as joy, and a complete waste of the time and talents of its ensemble cast.

It's a good movie. After watching the trailer, I liked the soundtrack of the movie, the story of the movie, and movie theme. I love movies like this with a New Year theme. I thought it was a good movie with a good script and good direction. After watching the movie, I felt that the viewer will get a good feeling and leave a good impression.

Ta mais pra menos que pra mais, falta conexão entre personagens, tem papeis inúteis, e é bem complicado achar algo positivo. Mas a parte talvez boa é aquela forte mistura, 'um pouco de humor com muita tensão família'.

"Love the Coopers" is a horribly written mess. It's all over the place and extremely over narrated. But I can't deny that I was charmed by it. I'm well aware of the problems it has, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching it.

This misguided mess is trying to hit as many family holiday buttons as possible, but mostly manages to muddle it up. Four generations of a family come together for their annual Christmas Eve celebration and almost every one of them has a story line: the geeky teenager's first kiss, the emotionally shutoff daughter, the jealous sisters, the couple on verge of a divorce announcement. You get the idea. Although the performances are decent and some of the individual moments are effective, the deluge of earnest conversations and vulnerable confrontations overloads any charm. And forget any laffs. The movie has noble intentions and an inevitable feelgood finale, but this turkey won't make it til Christmas.

This Christmas comedy just fails to blow in anything new. Instead, we're all being suffered while watching this movie. Love the Coopers.... hate isn't an option and no one wants hate in Love the Coopers.
