Nota: 5/10

Backward Lady Gaga can't act. Todd Phillips and Wackoff Phoenix are pretentious tools with terrible minds for entertainment.
Watch the wall if you're bored, not this.

And to think I was going to do something wild and crazy and fun like change my vacuum bag! But nonetheless, I’m glad I sort of made it through this mess.

"Let's take one of the best movies ever made and make the sequel a musical!" ... whoever had this idea should find a new calling. Terrible movie. The only redeeming quality was the cameo by Connie Storrie.

"Joker is everywhere," but he exists only for those who dare to dream.241206 (4.0)The opening animation serves as a perfect microcosm of Arthur Fleck’s life: a shadow yearning for a beautiful dream, only to be beaten down into reality. Arthur claims that "all we need is love," but for Lee (Harley Quinn), love is a tool used to "build a mountain" out of the chaos he represents. If you found yourself disappointed by this sequel, the film has arguably succeeded in its mission to dismantle the myth of the **** never loved Arthur Fleck; she was in love with the Joker. Her makeup was a ritual to transform a pathetic man into a symbol she could worship. The "bad influence" she claimed to receive from him was, in truth, a form of gaslighting, pushing Arthur to abandon his humanity. Despite his efforts to please her—even confessing to matricide—Arthur’s core remains tied to his pain, evidenced by his genuine emotional reaction to his former friend, Gary Puddles. Even the guard, Jackie (played by Brendan Gleeson, who was Mad-Eye Moody in *Harry Potter*!), treats the "Joker" as a star while physically and sexually degrading the man, **** musical numbers provide a haunting surrealism, featuring classics like Frank Sinatra's "For Once in My Life," "That’s Entertainment," and The Carpenters' "Close to You." These fantasies clash violently with the reality of Gotham. When Arthur finally admits, "There is no Joker," he blows away the illusion Lee built. The Joker followers, much like Lee, only wanted the chaos. When Arthur mentions wanting to "burn it all down," they take him literally, blowing up the courtroom and scarring Harvey Dent's face. The tragedy concludes with Arthur Fleck returning to Arkham by his own will, only to be murdered by a fellow inmate—a nameless madman who carves a smile into his own face, becoming the "Joker" we recognize from tradition. Arthur, the victim of childhood abuse and a "laughing disease" forced upon him by a neglectful mother, dies as a punchline to a joke he didn't tell. In the lawless, surreal world of Gotham, Arthur’s dream was stolen by the very monster he accidentally created.

This movie is simply bad because it doesn't tell a real story. The musical parts are always annoying when they happen, and there are a lot of them. Harley Quinn isn't really a Harley either, as she's far too bossy. But Gotham looks very nice, which is my only positive point.

I absolutely LOVE the original Joker movie, and think that Joaquin Phoenix is the best Joker since Heath Ledger. Sadly, this film did not live up to the masterpiece that the original created. There are definitely glimmers of genius and I feel like it is scratching the edge greatness but just doesn't deliver the way I really had hoped it would have. I am not a hater of the musical aspects of this, and there is some wonderful storytelling of mental illness similar to the original.

what the f am i watching...i even have to fast forward the last 1 hour bcos i cant take it anymore. What is this movie trying to convey? its unbearable to watch the full length of it. And all the musical, gosh...waste of time. I bet maybe 5 out of the 1.000 that watched it can actually enjoy this niche.

The story/plot is not good enough. Not enough climax, suspense and thriller. Lead actors did fine acting. Can be skipped unless you're a big fan of Joker.

Way better than I expected. This is a great sequel! This is not irony. If you loved the first film for the psychological drama, you'll be served with "Folie à deux".

#TheShortHandCritic: Woe is me. This one hurt. #JokerFolieADeux has been greatly anticipated given the casting of #LadyGaga as Harleen “Lee” Quinzel for what seems like years. While Joker (played by #JoaquinPhoenix) is literally withering away in a nasty prison. He meets Lee just in time for his trial for the murders in the previous film #Joker. Once together sparks fly as they get whisked away to a fantasyland filled with irreverent musical numbers. You heard that right—this is a musical. What the film was going for with the random music is intriguing, but it does not work at all. Each time the film pauses as if to crank up another buffoonery of song it induces the internal plea “Oh God—please not another one!” The musical numbers are neither flamboyant nor raw enough to attract memorability. But even they are more impressive in their nonsense than the actual screenplay. It meanders creating surprising boredom which aiding the film’s already overly depressive tone by director #ToddPhillips. The story is as flat and uninvolving as a Sprite left open in a hot car all day. Perhaps it’s the underwriting of Lady Gaga’s character that is the real stake in the heart of this production. She’s given little to do, and there are so many moments the audience anticipates excitement, but Phillips veers another direction trying to be clever and keep us on our toes. It fails miserably, and the film loses steam, sending it into a downward spiral. This causes any sizzle between the supposed mentally unstable duo to fall to the wayside, and Gaga, who seems game to play the femme fatale, deflates before our eyes like a pool toy with a hole in it. It’s just a sad, major letdown by the end and that’s not because the actors didn’t give it their all. They were just forsaken by their own creators. Further proof that new, edgy writing talent should be allowed into the elite club known as Hollywood. The budget that was spent on this is appalling for it to end right back where we started with floundering themes of influence, madness transference, and a witless love-fantasy gone wrong. This sequel is an injustice to the brilliance of the original. We would need a Part 3 to redeem Gaga’s should-have-been-a-bomb-not-a-firecracker character, but no one’s going to want to gamble sitting through a mess like this again. ️1/2 (Out of 4 Because 5 Stars Are For Restaurants & Hotels Only) #FilmReview #ShortHandCritic

Joaquin Phoenix's eponymous Joker takes the stand in a sequel that dances around while the story remains still, although Lady Gaga's wildcard energy gives Folie á Deux some verve.

First, forget everything you know about its predecessor. No, better yet, remember it exactly, and then consider that this is something of a completely different essence, and yet a continuation. A deeper character study, but more expansive in exploring the relationships between the Joker and others. Deeper into the themes of loneliness, darkness, fantasy, love, and yes, humor. A unique film for our times, as far as my knowledge goes. With gorgeously produced set pieces, both musically and visually, breathing new life into already classic american songs. And, once again, Joaquin Phoenix is a **** master.

This one just flat-out missed the mark. So much potential, just wasted. Great performances by our two leads, but not enough to carry this one where it needed to go. Sequels almost always let us down. Wouldn't watch again.

Being the polar opposite of the first film is just part of the problem. This movie has no identity, no structure. It's an absolute mess and I am baffled the script was approved, let alone given the insane budget it was given.

Well I already heard that it is musical etc but still gave it a chance hoping the story at least would be interesting - but the problem here it is all made about Joker's trial, about the psychology behind it etc and even Harley Quinn's story is too random and moves away from original. I mean for me as Batman lore etc fan, this feels like something completely else and therefore boring to watch, not even the musical **** if you want a movie about somebody's trial who has problems mentally then this is for you and some singing (which also seems boring), but if you want something about Joker as you know Joker, then this is a big miss!

This movie is brilliant. I enjoyed it a lot, it really embodies how mentally ill the Joker is & it shows true major signs of a psychotic narcissistic schizophrenic. The back and forth between the singing & his reality shows how his mind switches - even the scenes where Harley pops up around him - when watching the film you can’t tell what’s real or what’s in his mind & that’s what I really enjoy about this series of Todd Philips The Joker. His take on the Joker gets into the mind of how The Joker actually is, his thoughts, his fascinations, his fantasies & how he feels & thinks… I hope Todd Philips continues to makes more films with this Joker, it really is amazingly brilliant & such a masterpiece in itself.

Absolutely borderline, unwatchable sequel is misguided to say the least. Let's face it, on paper it sounds brilliant: a musical which 'happen' in Arthur Fleck's mind as he 'romances' Harley Quinn. What could have been a sure fire hit is derailed by the ineptness of Philips as a Director. Let's face it, the Hangover movies were bonafide hits thanks to its brilliant casts, and so were the Joker with Phoenix's stellar performance. What we have here though were musical numbers that were supposed to be set in an imaginary world like say, Wonka, before being contrasted with its actual reality as it was portrayed in the movie. At 200 million dollars, it is enough to create alternate sets for the musical number. They didn't. And for crying out loud, why do you hire Gaga who is a prolific music performer and ask her to do what she did in the movie(?). Thus, this is by far the year's biggest flop and one of the biggest dissapointment of the year.

A tough film to review, because there's little to say about it. Is it as bad as many say it is? No. But it's still not good, and is certainly a gigantic disappointment. It's basically an episode of Perry Mason or Law & Order dragged out for over 2 hours with a few songs thrown in for absolutely no reason. As someone who enjoys movie musicals, I really wanted it to at least be good in that respect. But the whole point of musicals is that the songs are part of the narrative - they're used to introduce characters and drive the plot forward. Joker 2 doesn't even work as a musical because the songs are just there, adding absolutely nothing to the plot and ultimately just getting in the way. That's a real shame, because the choreographed musical scenes are actually extremely well done and aside from the scene where Arthur is cross-examining Mr Puddles in court, they're the few points when the movie really comes to life. The courtroom explosion is just an excuse to rehash the crash scene from the first film. Pretty much everything else there is just generic prison / courtroom drama stuff that does nothing to justify the film's existence, and is just boring as sin. I could've easily either walked out of the cinema or fallen asleep without the big musical numbers.

A very enjoyable and charming film that dives perfectly into the story of a former maniac. Arthur Fleck's inner conflict is the best part of the film, showing the killer's styory of redemption. However, it was too late, for the Joker that Arthur gave birth to is long gone by the people who don't care about the protagonist's problems, they only want the Joker. The theme raised here of the formation of a cult of a maniac is excellent and unusual, with such features as the justification of the maniac by people, especially horny groupies or murderabilia. The only downside of the film is that it isboring as a musical, and if you want to watch itjust because of this genre, youwill be disappointed by the boring music scenes that could have been bright and aesthetic with the scripting possibi;ities of the creators.

«Joker: Folie à Deux» contains a good animation insert at the beginning, but then turns into a rather boring film with inappropriate elements of a musical, in which $ 200 million fits exactly in 2 locations in which the action takes place - a courtroom and a mental hospital. And also, the completely unnecessary Lady Gaga, who might not be here and nothing would have changed, there is quite a bit of her here. And also, a good ending that leaves behind a few questions that we won't get answers to, since the film failed miserably at the box office. As a result, we got a boring sight that shouldn't have happened. We could have stopped after a great first movie, but no. Disappointing 4/10.

Did you like the first movie ? Yes than this movie is a big message togo **** yourself . That what rolling stones said to fans who like the first movie . Saying you are garage liking violence in a movie . The first movie is about how bad the world abandon the mentally ill . This movie was boring to seat though and it worst if you keep checking the run time . The song was point less maybe few did add something. Which they would sing the most random moments. The court room act. Was trying to tell Arthur the joker isn't real .he is your mind. Which they are trying to stay he has a slipt personality.Which is stupid. It can't get worse like Joker getting **** and adding
Heath Ledger joker .Turn out they did add it. Hoping this won't be a part 3. Why can't we get Batman who laugh movie

A good but very heavy film, it shows how many people hurt each other because of indifference, and how people in power chase glory without fully understanding the case, and ordinary people are tired of being misunderstood by the government.
The ending is sad and there is little action. You may not like the musical but in my opinion it shows the contrast with the first film well, that the joker has gone mad

Should watch in the mood of normal. This Joker is not the same as any Joker you saw anywhere else. It more like the half of movie is romance. It not drama like deep in the mind of Arthur. They showed Arthur's mind for us as these songs. Make the movie more easy to watch. Seem like no one love this idea.

A mess but it was kinda overhated. I love musicals so I’m kinda biased but also sometimes I saw glimpses of myself in Arthur’s madness and my sleep paralysis demon does resemble the character of Gaga.

Pretty much one of the lamest film of 2024. Setting aside the musical bits (which I find were too much), the plot was so simple and dragged on way too long. Great acting by Phoenix, great singing Gaga, but apart from those, there's nothing much to see in this film.

Achei a Arlequina completamente esquecível.

This serves as an interesting sequel to the dramatic Todd Phillips 2019 film. Casting, cinematography and soundtrack serve the story well. Despite the rather long runtime, the editing and pacing a very good. And yet... I can't help as a fan of the comic book character ...that the source material has been severely under utilized here. It just sticks out from beginning to end. Without the Batman to play off against him its kind of a heightened drama wearing a comic book mask.

“Joker: Folie à Deux” is a complete letdown, especially after the brilliance of the first film. The potential to explore a twisted, psychotic love story was completely wasted, and instead, we got a watered-down musical that drags on without adding anything meaningful to the story. It’s slow, tiresome, and far from the intense character study of the original. Not only did they miss the chance to create something remarkable, but they also managed to ruin the carefully crafted Joker from the first movie. A massive disappointment.

There's not much to say, they took an exceptional film and threw it down a staircase, it's a shame because the film is well made and without “outside” influences it could have been magnificent, but that's about all.
