Haunt was a good. I didn’t except anything when going in and the movie was good. I definitely wanted more gore but it was still good. Rule #1 never go to a haunted house. Many twist and turns. I would recommend this movie for a watch.

It was actually much better than I expected. I love that its rated R and they do not hold back much. Really makes people close their eyes (in a good way) because someone is going to perish. That said, it is a 'teen' movie, and they will do some things that will want to make you scream 'wtf are you doing! RUN!!!" Really enjoyed it.

This reminded me a lot of Dark Ride (2006) in many ways. It is bad, silly, pointless, boring, badly acted, badly directed, lacking anything memorable, entertaining or engaging. It is the definition of ‘nothing’. In fact, the only way to describe this film is ‘nothing’. It’s a nothing film through-and-through. It lacks anything engaging at all. It is totally forgettable. There is no point watching this. I'm giving it an extra star as there is a film and it's not badly made. It's just absolutely nothing.

For an american teen horror movie pretty good. Most scenes are plausible. Good for a Halloween horror movie night.

I cut "A quiet place" off after about 20 minutes and decided to watch this movie instead. It's really good! It's your typical slasher film with a group of teenagers getting picked off one at a time but there were some interesting features. It kind of reminded me of the escape room movie, like how it keeps you wondering what is going to happen next. It had similar themes to every other slasher movie but it was highly entertaining. I wasn't looking for a deep, dramatic movie- I wanted cheap fun and I got it to the max. Loved this movie.

For a simple and well-known proposal in the genre, is well above average in it's execution, which leads to the feeling that they could believe more in the development of the script. If, on the one hand, they agreed to work with the generic and the cliché, they took care of the part that matters most to horror fans. It's one thing to have the courage to go through the houses of the amusement parks, it's another thing to look at the rooms in the residence of this movie.

Good for a couple of spooks and scares. The sensation of walking through a quality haunted house at an amusement park, in movie-form. The scares come cheap, but the slashing is quality. Some decent quick shots of gore during/post kills. Acting is acceptable. Protagonists are mostly relatable/likeable, couple of funny lines peppered into early dialog, believable fear later. Protagonists do seem to make silly mistakes to keep high tension throughout the plot though (pick up the gun! ffs), would break the immersion occasionally. 4/10 Skellingtons. Would rate slightly higher if not for the Tucker & Dale caliber decision-making on the teenager's part.

A proposta é interessante, porém mal explorada. Acaba se tornando um clichê e um filme se da sessão da ****, a não ser pelas cenas um pouco pesadas.

Great flick, I enjoy most of the characters and it uses horror tropes well. if you are a fan of slashers and saw like me you'll love it.

Finally a good slasher movie from the 2010s!! I'm enjoying the rise of this genre that's like, escape room slasher? Now I'm reminded of Saw, so maybe it's more a comeback of sorts... Either way, it's been a bit hit (Escape Room) or miss (Blood Fest, Hell Fest) for me personally, but I was very pleasantly surprised by this one! There's still shallow characters and terrible dialogue, but at least in this movie the final girl has a good backstory, the scares are built up very well, the sets are incredible and the gore is great! Definitely worth a watch if you like horror and/or slasher movies!

Great horror movie with a twist on the real life haunted house experience with a clever reason for the Haunt to be the way it is. Don’t listen to the Arizona moron’s review. That idiot paid so little attention to the movie and was in such a rush to dump movie house snark all over that he couldn’t even get the ratio of women to men in the movie right.

I'm so glad I discovered this hidden gem. It's a shame this film didn't get a wide theatrical release. This film was directed by the writers of A Quiet Place, but I found it far more entertaining than that overrated film. This film is chillingly effective and wholly satisfying, and makes the most of its simple premise. Even though most people would consider it a horror film, I would consider it a thriller since it doesn't have any supernatural or mythical elements. If you love horror films and thrillers, you won't want to miss this one. Since it takes place on Halloween, it's a perfect choice to watch in October.

Goooood **** movie. Quality scares, on point atmosphere, effects all there, and the gore is intense.

The premise for this movie is far from original by any stretch of the imagination but it's solid enough to make for an entertaining if some what predictable ride.

Boring premise, is out of date (maybe in 1980 it could be a regular kind of fick to see in Halloween). Is really annoying this type of evil characters without any background. A lot of cliches of the genre.

Terrible terrible terrible. Young adults are trapped and tormented and murdered in a roadside haunted house. All I could think about while watching this movie was "I've seen this **** a thousand times.

8.7/10 Haunt is the hidden gem horror film of the year with legitimate brutality, tension, and bleak atmosphere throughout that would have been a hit with a major theatrical release. When I saw the trailer about a month ago i was pleasantly surprised with its promise shown, and even more surprised and bewildered it wasn't getting a major theatrical release. Having Eli Roth produce, and Beck and Woods directing/writing hot off their momentum from writing A Quiet Place, you would think the studios would have been confident enough and should've have because this was higher quality than most big budget horror's released this year. The film starts out in usual fashion and introduces us to what appear to be standard teenage horror characters that were definitely more tolerable than most other characters in other films yet still fit the cliches. As we get a bit more introduced, you can tell that one of them has more emotional depth to her which is an important factor for audience relateability that's overlooked these days in most horror films. When things progress in the plot we are introduced to the main setting in which the mayhem unfolds and for the low budget they were working with, they executed the set designs flawlessly and creatively. The haunted house/maze aesthetic is elevated to new heights of fright through wide arrays of different set pieces, colorizations, and overall foreboding environments. They absolutely knocked it out of the park with the colorizations and camerawork as well, and it added so much to the already supreme tension. When the antagonists start showing up with their intentions, the creepiness and chaos takes hold and never lets up building into a brutal conclusion that honestly will stick with a lot of people with its ultimately disturbing reveals and shocking plot turns. This film really deserved to be released in a major theatrical format and i honestly believe it would have been a hit at the box office. I expected it to be solid but did not expect it to be my favorite horror film of the year. It has so much tension, atmosphere, and an incredibly visceral visual style. It has potential to become an underrated cult classic once word spreads and a definitive go to haunted house/halloween film. I really hope Beck and Woods stay in the horror genre because they have some clear cut talent in creating tense atmosphere that oozes through the screen.
