Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore6
May 10, 2022
There are just two good things about this: the animal scenes that generate a certain affective appeal for the creatures and Jacob as comic relief at some point.
The movie has a giant plot problem, unnecessary scenes that don't add anything to the story and that have only two functions: spending money on CGI - which by the way shocked me to see this in the Wizarding World, many "strange" effects - and time of screen. Not to mention situations that could easily be resolved with a "magic touch".
The most intriguing part of the story is the political context, but it also fails miserably because it is poorly fleshed out. The addition of Mads Mikkelsen was perfect to play the "villain", yes, in quotes because there were few moments that I could feel a real threat from the character, maybe it's not even Mikkelsen's fault but the whole atmosphere of the film.
In short, we are heading towards a worrying end of the franchise where we seem to be going around and around and not understanding what is happening. I predict that they will choose to solve everything in the last movie. In addition, Dumbledore's secrets were only a surprise to those who are not fans of the saga.

You Won't Be Alone8
May 6, 2022
A film that brings a mixture of sensations. A highly sensorial visual work that plays with perceptions. The soundtrack is responsible for the narrative of the story and makes us involved in each scene in a different way. Here we have subtlety accompanied with viscerality, in addition to sensational photography.

Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution8
Apr 4, 2021
How important this documentary is and how it makes us reflect on the privileges we have and yet we complain about a lot. Watching these movements that preceded great revolutions are really inspiring and make us break even more the prejudice that we have.

The Assistant6
Jan 24, 2021
Perhaps it could be approached in another way, because looking at the film in general it is very linear, and perhaps that is the message that the director wanted to convey. However, the protagonist's anguish and sadness about the life she leads at work is very clear, not noticed by anyone, besides living in an environment composed mostly of men and being controlled by them. This linear form of the plot is what can keep many people from watching.

The Book Thief6
Dec 29, 2020
If I hadn't read the book before, maybe my experience would be completely different. Totally disappointed, the whole story in my view is treated superficially. Two lenght hours and failed to develop the relationships between the characters - an example of the friendship of Lisel and Max, Liesel and Rudy -, not to mention the changes they made, which although they seem simple, do not work, as it is a failed attempt to create a drama that has become superficial. Yes, it could be a thousand times better.

Dec 27, 2020
The film brings an important message about how to value every minute we live and what really matters. Not to mention the reflection of how we always strive for something we think we need and when we succeed, it does not seem to satisfy us. Following the same steps as 'Inside Out', it joins animation with a good message behind it. Something to please not only children, but also adults.

Wonder Woman 19846
Dec 25, 2020
There is still a certain melancholy in how Diana leads her life and how she has not yet overcome the death of her beloved. I confess that at the beginning of the film, the end already becomes very predictable. Despite being a great admirer of the character, what happened in most cases just happened here, the second project does not match or does not exceed the first.

A California Christmas6
Dec 25, 2020
Despite the tittle, the focus of the film has nothing to do with Christmas. Only at the end of the film the setting is Christmas. Despite being a cliché, it is one of the average, nothing too bad.

Interesting visual and eye-catching storyline. A mixture of emotion and comedic moments. It is worth taking a look.

The New Mutants5
Dec 20, 2020
The film itself is quite average, the plot is interesting, it brings some scenes that are worthy of suspense films, but nothing much worked on. The protagonist's performance is questionable, leaving something to be desired in some scenes.

Sinister3
Dec 19, 2020
As a good horror movie lover, you are honestly not good at all. The story resembles "The Ring", but it fails in the plot, with average performances and the supernatural side poorly worked. Boring.
Dec 16, 2020
Joker9
Dec 16, 2020
The film portrays not only the creation of a "villain", but also the loneliness of a person who wanted to be seen and respected, and how he had to revolutionize to get what he wanted.

I Know What You Did Last Summer4

classic of the 90s, but with nothing brings anything very innovative. A cliché slasher.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald6

Disappointed, as this new universe is not bringing me a bit of the emotions I felt with Harry Potter.

Bombshell7
Dec 16, 2020
A totally relevant subject and makes us think that we can hardly imagine what happens behind this industry. There are so many environments that treat women in this way and it takes courage to be able to fight against harassment and the predominant culture by men. It holds your attention and passes very quickly.

I'm not a fan of Taylor Swift, but watching it I must consider the way she was deconstructing as she matured. In some part my 'pre-judgment' of Swift's image was not completely wrong, I always saw it as 'forced' in the way of behaving before the media. And in fact - as shown in the documentary itself - she presented herself as a new persona to be liked by the public. I completely understand that the breaking of the mold of 'perfect girl' in pop culture does not happen in the same way for everyone and if it came to Taylor after all these years, I cannot judge her for that. Maybe my contact with other artists who left that label at an younger age, like Britney, X-tina, Miley Cyrus and all the pop girls who already rebelled, made me demand from celebrities like Taylor, a position long before. So, I was a bit back on her. It is always good to see the artist mature and recognize that pop has its strands and each one approaches themes differently. Glad she met and is finally doing what she wants.

Horse Girl7
Dec 16, 2020
I think the purpose of the film is to present the psychological of a person who suffers from certain disorders - as it is presented during the same. It really comes to a point where you believe what the protagonist is going through and at other times you doubt it. Of course, for her everything is real, everything is in her mind. Perhaps the traumas forced her brain to protect itself against everything bad and created an entirely unique world within itself.

Breathtaking film, very tense moments and really surprised me. Great criticism about socioeconomic inequality through the lives of two completely different families and the ambition for a status. Unexpected end and a real turnaround.

Princess Mononoke7
Dec 16, 2020
Criticism of man's impact on nature and how society is corrupted. It is amazing how we see animations dealing with such serious issues and even though the film is from 1999, it is so current.
Dec 16, 2020
The Platform8
Dec 16, 2020
Explaining the worst of the human species, the film shows how the human being would see himself in total crisis and helplessness. It also portrays the society where the most favored continue to have privileges and enjoy even what is not necessary, leaving the others in need.
Dec 16, 2020
The Invisible Man8
Dec 16, 2020
A mixing of feelings, many theories created. Elisabeth's performance is perfect, the way she instigates us to think that in moments she is losing her insanity and doubting if that is real. Very good!
Dec 16, 2020
My Neighbor Totoro8
Dec 16, 2020
Although it brings a story that appears to be nothing deep, compared to the other titles, it fulfills its role somewhat. It is not necessary to charge much, given the whole concept and how everything works from the discovery of this new world through the girl.

A Fall from Grace8
Dec 16, 2020
The story is somewhat disgusting, you are incredulous how someone can have their life so unstructured. In general it holds a lot of attention, it is not very complex or enigmatic, but it has an interesting ending.

The Willoughbys7
Dec 16, 2020
No matter where we come from, we can always choose the people who do us good. The family is not the one that put us in the world, but it is the one that welcomes us and loves us. Even though they are not loved by their parents, the siblings are always together and overcome challenges that test their union. It reminded me of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. Good to pass the time.

The theme is not innovative, but it is a very light film to watch the afternoon.

The Wave7
Dec 16, 2020
A good dramatic film, but nothing too surprising. The basic story that we are already used to seeing in catastrophe films. A caveat to the beautiful images.
Dec 15, 2020
The Witches5
Dec 15, 2020
Although they brought representativeness and modernized the film, it still has the air that something else was missing. Because it is a remake, it should at least be good in relation to the original, but this film is dispensable.
Dec 13, 2020
Hustlers7
Dec 13, 2020
It's very interesting, mainly because it is based on true facts. The entire film is sustained on a more comical basis, bringing some emotional parts - such as the family issue and the mother-daughter bond. However, some performances was not that good, even though they have some big names.

Mulan7
Dec 5, 2020
Despite bringing interesting action scenes, with very nice special effects, perhaps 'Mulan' is not one of Disney's great triumphs. With strange cuts and a sequence of somewhat random scenes, the film falls short in aspects of oriental culture and also in the plot.
