Gringo is a slightly above-average crime farce with a way above-average protagonist — both in terms of writing and performance, and especially given the genre. It’s a surprising high point in Oyelowo’s already distinguished career.

This movie's nature seemed to have flew over the majority of the audiences head, and not appreciate the value of this movie. It simply had charisma and fast paced shift of events which it seems it was confused with chaos and urged scenes. But no, the movie had amazing scenes and great a acting with very impressively developed characters in a short time. And due to the fact that it had so many it was like a chaotic free for all fight for the life. But the plot was rock solid despite what others say, if you pay attention to the detail, it's all there. The action scenes where really lacking a lot sadly and the ones that where in the movie where kept pretty much simple and too realistic for this kind of a movie. But that drama, the unforeseen entertaining twists and the hilarious similes where amazingly fitting and it also created immersion. Apparently this was also hard to appreciate for the general viewers. Overall this was a charismatic movie with fresh style, and great acting that deserves all the respect for creating something fresh in this genre. It's deserving of a very good movie tag. And sadly super under rated!!! (This is me not being subjective and claiming that this movie deserves better)

Everything about Gringo, from the storytelling to the comedy to the cinematography is incredibly lackluster. The film is dark and dim, like everything's covered in a layer of dust. Oyelowo is quite endearing and funny as Harold, but he's given very little to work with.

If someone somehow convinced somebody somewhere to turn the screenplay for Gringo into a real-life motion picture with real-deal actors, then, hell, it could happen to anyone.

In my opinion it was a great adventure movie with some action elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.

What's so bad about this? It's pretty messy and mean-spirited and it doesn't really have anything to make it memorable or great but it's still entertaining and has some really funny moments. I had a decent time watching it
