SummaryFrustrated by scrolling dating apps only to end up on lame, tedious dates, Noa (Daisy Edgar-Jones) takes a chance by giving her number to the awkwardly charming Steve (Sebastian Stan) after a produce-section meet-cute at the grocery store. During a subsequent date at a local bar, sassy banter gives way to a chemistry-laden hookup, and a smitten N... Read More

It doesn’t just offer up the most palatable aspects of horror as a genre; instead, it pushes it to its limits through a complete, and undoubtedly satisfying, reworking.

It is equally a solid genre effort, characterised by gory set-pieces, discombobulating scenarios, and welcome lashings of feminist revenge.

Amazing premise, amazing casting. I loved the twists and tension that built up. A new favourite for me!

Fresh is shameless and hilariously audacious, anticipating critique even when it can't quite offer a response. But the film happily rolls with the punches, so self-assured that you're hard-pressed to let the flaws win out. Because even if its commentary won't linger, the experience of "Fresh" is something to savor.

Allow the tongue-in-cheek “Fresh” to satisfy your appetite for a generous helping of heartening sisterhood and eradicate your cravings for a juicy burger, possibly forever.

Screenwriter Lauryn Kahn and director Mimi Cave take a broad swipe at “Just give me a smile,” sexism and the objectification of women. Their aim is dark comedy — darker than dark, darker even than “Promising Young Woman.” But the chuckles are mostly in the finale.

Fresh is pitched as a kind of genre corrective, except its tone-deaf cheekiness only results in a feeling of dreary regression.

️ A nice little romance with a twist. For a VOD production, it's really well shot and lit, and I was pleasantly surprised by the director's visual composition. Unfortunately, the twist of the film is revealed on the poster and apparently in every trailer, which is a shame because the mix of romantic comedy, Sunday evening feel-good TV, and horror moments works really well. You can tell that Edgar-Jones and Stan had fun with the material. There are also a few great needle-drops. And I realized just how much I miss female voices in genre films.

Definitely a weird movie. It was interesting to see Sebastian Stan in such an interesting role. Even though movie didn't took me that much, it's sure will stay in my mind for many years with its style, narration and what it tries to tell. Even horror lovers will always remember this movie. Not a big hit but gonna turn to a classic.

I wanted to like it a lot more than I did. Stan did a great job and is the highlight of the film. The rest of the cast was OK but all paled in comparison to him. The plot is a little too predictable for my liking and the film runs a good 20-minutes too long.
