Does for "E.T." what "Super 8" did for "Close Encounters." As lovably '80s as Reece's Pieces and pop socks.

It’s not exceedingly original, it is well-made and a solid entry into the subgenre.

This was the best movie ever. I saw the bad reviews and thought it would be boring, but when I saw it I literally said and thought to everybody around me, "who could think this is boring?" This was the bets movie of all time, and I like it better than even Disney, and I am a Disney fan. No chance I'm ever going to see a better movie. I loved Earth to Echo, brilliant movie!!!

Would that the movie had gone the next step, and possibly imagined that this bright, shiny little E.T. had figured out how to get kids to do its sinister work for him by providing free WiFi and endless smartphone upgrades in exchange for undying loyalty, we might have had something altogether different on our hands.

It's no "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial." (What is?) But on its own modest terms, the alien adventure Earth to Echo is a lively and likable knockoff that should divert, if not exactly enthrall, tweens and young teens.

What ultimately should have been borrowed from Spielberg’s oeuvre but isn’t is a sense of wonder and achievement whenever characters come in contact with the unknown or overcome a great obstacle as a team. Imitation should be flattering, not flattening.

Technology remains no substitute for well-written characters and genuine intrigue and atmosphere, so despite the cute special effects and camera jostling, this film feels like an extended episode of an after-school show by Disney.

Even at a cramped and frenetic 82 minutes, the movie feels long. That’s what happens when the audience can guess everything that’s going to happen in advance.

This movie is a great movie. A mixture of E.T Goonies and Stand by Me. DO see this! A great movie for the whole family. If you only see one movie this summer see Earth to Echo!!!

Is it a great movie -- well that may depend on your age and how well you can handle all the cliché's and similarities to other sci-fi flicks. But other than that is it still an okay movie, and that's mostly due to the great characters, solid plot and somewhat okay actors. Yes the plot isn't original by a long shot, but it's still works in its own way. The story is somewhat unique and there are some entertaining (but also boring) moments. But it doesn't feel that exciting as what it could have been. It started a bit slow but it ascalated greatly in the second and the third act. The aspect that really stands out in Earth To Echo is the cinematography, it's unique but somewhat shaky and annoying. But is it worth watching -- I would say that's it's a 50 % chance that you would find it okay, so it's up to you. But I wouldn't take those odds. 6.5/10

I thought it was enjoyable, but it isn't super great. The acting was good enough, and so were the special effects. I enjoyed the story though, but it isn't amazing. For me it's somewhere in middle, and it might be worth a watch.

Earth to Echo wanted to be a "friendly-alien-lost-on-earth" movie but I didn't do a very good job. The story was boring, the characters were not played well and in all it felt like a failed remake of E.T. The story-line was pretty much the same as E.T. anyway. At no point during the movie does it immerse you and give you a sense of feeling for the character of Echo in such a way as E.T did.

I can tell they won't have the same spark that the kids from the others classic kids movies had. You can also tell that the kids acting are be bad ,the truth is this movie is crappy.
