’Sicario’ is a stunningly directed drama flick, with a story that’s highly intense — even without that much action. It’s a very plot-driven and slowly paced story, and for some; kinda boring. It got its moments of symbolism and powerful imagery, but drags on without that much thrills or character moments. Its finale got some of this, but the overall film doesn’t. Still; the director of both ’Arrival’ and ’Prisoners’ succeeds once again with a stunningly directed flick! Personal rating: 68/100 Critical rating: 80/100

Die Hard 4.0 is a very story-centric movie and not character driven at all. But it's a fun and enjoyable flick, with many outstanding and highly suspensive action-sequences! Cinematography and Bruce Willis's performance is another wow-factor -- but the massive lack of character depth to both protagonist and antagonist made it at lot less emotionally satisfying. But damn what a ride! Personal rating: 77/100 Critical rating: 70/100

Gladiator is an epic one mans fight for freedom -- with a stunning direction from Ridley Scott and his more artistic way of visualizing a historical flick like this one. It got many pleasing moments of action & tension, and some character moments is seen on screen, even if more would have enhanced the experience a lot more! Still; it's a stunning and surreal movie that really deserves its praise! Personal rating: 80/100 Critical rating: 80/100

'Schindler's List' is a true story that deserves to be seen by everyone -- no matter what. It's a humane, powerful and emotionally heartbreaking story of a man going against his own beliefs and doing what, in the simplest terms, is the right thing to do. Sure it might be too slow and lengthy for some people, but it's one movie of its kind with a story that got more to tell than any other blockbuster. Personal rating: 80/100 Critical rating: 88/100

’The Departed’ is a surreal and one of a kind thriller. A mole within a mole. A hero and an anti-hero. A masterfully crafted movie with pacing that’s not often seen on screen -- it expands the story and the tension between characters for every minute that passes and it is a powerful, relatable and humane movie. We follow characters and their struggles in life regarding decisions they have to face along the way, and they are all visualized by a stunning cast with at least five big Hollywood stars! Some lacking character depth is a truth to some, but it’s overall a very deep movie into who we are deep down. The story takes unexpected turns over and over and goes deeper into the mess that we already are in. Add surreal action-sequences and a terrifying antagonist -- ’The Departed’ is something extra among other thrillers! Personal rating: 85/100 Critical rating: 95/100

'The Usual Suspects’ is that slow burner that at a first glance is a slow and almost boring film — but that after a while expands into this cleverly written thriller that takes unexpected turns. It’s a story of much complexity with a lot of dialogue. This, in combination with the big lack of character depth might seem like a big flaw, but the 3rd act explains a lot of this and it does weigh more than the film’s cons — for some people. I loved the ending but found most of the 1st and 2nd act slow and uneventful. The third act made the whole flick superbly better, mostly thanks to the film’s mysterious antagonist, the powerful direction by Bryan Singer and Kevin Spacey's performance as the character 'Verbal'. It’s one great and dramatic thriller, but that might be a bit too slow for my taste. Personal rating: 72/100 Critical rating: 80/100

The Remake of the 2001 blockbuster is a fast and fun popcorn event — but that doesn’t bring much else to the table. Thin characters, multiple story clichés, plot holes and expositions doesn’t impress the critical self, but it’s still a splendid action piece of superb CGI that’s going to please the eye. Personal rating: 70/100 Critical rating: 65/100

A more immature version of the famous superhero, that is an enjoyable ride of self-discovery, adulthood and classic “save the day” action. The film takes several small and teeny steps, one at a time to develop the plot -- but it ultimately works as a standard story of great, but meager originality to its main premise. Twists and fun action are big pluses, but fragments of anticlimactic humor and poor character development are forcefully pushing the film down. But in the end it still serves as a fun one timer popcorn event, and that successfully restores the magic to the character that 'The Amazing Spiderman'- franchise totally ruined. This is an experience like no other. Powerful imagery and emotional symbolism made one almost weep, because the scope of this war-epic is phenomenally crafted. It’s a dark film for sure, but it serves as a glimpse of light over and over, with a forever returning theme of truthfulness to humanity. This, combined with the realism and empathetic feel to the setting that C Nolan masterfully has achieved – will make even the dullest being emotional. Dunkirk is very different from Nolan’s previous achievements, mainly due to the very lack of character inside through dialogs. But, amazingly, we can still relate and understand their thinking through the surreal events and clever filmmaking. The scope is real. You feel the seriousness. You feel trapped, just like the young soldiers. This is done almost without any dialogs. The silence between the characters says it all. The ones that stand out from the pack of men are Commander Bolton, Mr. Dawson and Tommy; this is where most of the focus lies and where we get most character depth. The non-linear structure helped with this, it almost trapped the audience in a loop with different perspectives on the event of Dunkirk. And the whole movie is all about the event, not the specific characters. You feel like you’re in it so you care for the situation and the characters, even though you might not remember their names fully. All of this is very rare and not often seen on film. It really works in the film’s favor, and yes even more inside to characters could never hurt a film like this one. But this isn’t a flaw in this film. To relate to characters in this extent with so little talking – is an Oscar-worthy achievement. To follow these characters in Dunkirk is an exhausting and adrenaline-packed experience with realistic action that you will not question. The realism is stunningly shaped. It might be one of my most surreal film experiences ever. Hans Zimmer’s score boosted the experience by tenfold, it got this “ticking” feel to it, almost like a heart beating faster and faster throughout the film – Zimmer is a propulsive force that never stops to amaze. The camerawork is just as stunning; you fly like an aircraft and feel the full gravity of the situation! It’s a smooth, stylish and artistic direction from C Nolan and ‘Interstellar’ cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema. Some minor flaws do exist. The action is at a few places very identical as to what already has been seen in previous scenes, so it took the “wow-feel” down a bit. Some individuals will without any doubt attack the “too realistic” WW2 feel, because it’s not bold enough for them. But to create this movie isn’t about being bold. It’s about creating something real. And it is, very! It’s an epic experience filled with realism but also small acts of heroism, kindness and forgiveness. Dunkirk is as action-packed as ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’, and stunningly realistic as ‘Saving Private Ryan’ but with a bigger slam to it. It reveals the true nature of war, the men behind it and what the bigger picture of it can be. Dunkirk is a visual and emotional experience that will take the gasp out of you. Period. Wonder Woman is a blast! Packed with action and likable characters, the DC franchise is finally improving fast with this wonderfully directed and well written flick. Princess Diana and Steven Trevor as our main characters are both somewhat developed throughout the film, with some personal struggles and even some moral questions are often raised. This is closely interconnected with the main story, where Hans Zimmer’s score and the excellent crafted slow-mo & action-sequences, made one get goose bumps. The WW1-feel and the small (almost romantic) moments between our main characters are also a big plus. The downside to all this is the anticlimactic and cheesy 3rd act, where a “new” and unnecessary villain was introduced with an enormous lack of inside, and a messy structure of nothing more than vague CGI ”Snyder”- action. Still, ‘Wonder Woman’ is definitely DC’s best to date, and very up to expectations from my part! Personal rating: 78/100 Critical rating: 73/100

Marvel goes full wizard mode — and it is a success. Cumberbatch proves once again that he’s one of a kind. He’s capable to act many different kinds of characters. Dr. Stephen Strange got this ego-centric, Iron man-ish personality. We follow his up and downs throughout the film and there are a lot of development going on! Characters are well presented and the chemistry is superb. Antagonist is however a bit cliche-ish -- some inside does exist but not enough to be considered a complex nor rememberable villain. The basic premise of 'Dr Strange' is not as wow as what I expected to see. Some of you will without any doubt love it -- but I didn’t find this ”imaginary land-ish” film that dramatic. It’s a very bright and colorful film for sure, but I wanted even more to the plot and to the characters. A movie is suposed to be driven by the characters alone -- not the plot. But it’s still a fun and enjoyable film; the humor worked at multiple places even though I wanted more, and some of the jokes did come off as bad. Action is a plus; even though more uniqueness would have given it more praise on a personal level. This is a pure film of imagination. It’s action driven, funny, well directed and superbly acted. Still it’s nothing really wow if you ask me. But it’s one more great Marvel film to put on the shelf. Personal rating: 75/100 Critical rating: 74/100

A deeper and more mysterious sci-fi drama about humanity itself. Not the arrivers. The marketing of 'Arrival' was greatly focused om "them". But the film takes multiple different steps inwards. It's all about the human perspective and their reactions to the unknown. Humanity is the main character here, not the aliens. It takes time to understand the story, and for some of you; a rewatch might be a good thing, since it's not a pure linear film. It's a slow moving drama that got much to tell about the basics of humanity & morality. If that isn't a thing for you, then pick a different film. Amy Adams as Louise Banks is the major player, and this might be her best performance to date. Natural chemistry and over the top mother-daughter depth is a wow! Character inside might be a lacking aspect in the first act, but the film is heavily focused on build-up, and most of the inside doesn't arrive until in the final act. The character inside develops greatly throughout the film, it follows the non-linear storytelling. Sure even more inside to side-characters would’ve been great, but the focus lies greatly on Louise Banks for sure and we get a lot of inside to her! But we don't really get that much to Ian Donnelly for example. 'Arrival' got a clear structure and a stunning build-up. The film takes one step at a time and generally never felt rushed nor uneventful. Sure one rushed moment did exist on a personal level, surrounding the understanding of the aliens. I felt that the editors missed an important plot-point. Another nit-picky aspect can be the uneven pacing at several places throughout the film. But it’s not a flawed film. No way. The third act is a major part of the structure. It’s where the basic plot and characters blend together into a higher purpose. Some aspects of it did however come off as a bit flat -- the film showed several inventive moves, but some lesser ones did appear in the ending. Once the basic plot was revealed; there wasn’t that much more to be excited by. The film fights hard ethical and inventive questions, but it does on the other hand have several a bit too simple moments. It’s pretty much the same with the expositions -- who the writers integrated very well into this flick, but they were a bit too noticeable throughout the story. Arrival is a huge groundbreaker among other sci-fi films of 2016. It’s one of those slow-burners with classical sci-fi elements like time, morality, culture, religion, humanity, who we really are, and what is the nature of humanity really? Who’s the real antagonist; them or us? ’Arrival’ might take inspiration of previous sci-fi works, but it’s one of a kind -- and let’s not forget the stunning direction from Denis Villeneuve. Just the visuals alone might bring an Oscar to this stunning sci-fi flick. Personal rating: 87/100 Critical rating: 84/100

'The Nice Guys' is a disappointing but well directed film with weird and enjoyable characters. The humor didn’t work for me all the way throughout the film, but when it did; it really did! The film shines all due to Russell Crowe & Ryan Gosling’s stunning performance & natural chemistry. I however found the plot a bit uneven. They kept going from different locations and characters, to different plot lines over and over -- the movie lost my interest after the first act and didn't pay off until the ending. I expected more of this action/thriller/comedy. The cinematography, editing and the awesome and relatable characters are however a gigantic plus. Personal rating: 63/100 Critical rating: 75/100

A great biography of the struggles of being in the centre of attention. It's a flashy and realistic adoption of the famous event, that might lack a deeper characteristic inside -- but the film breaks multiple barriers with the stunning accident. All thanks to Tom Hanks and his performance as 'Sully'. We feel his emotional fight -- but the film still lack a greater background to characters and more development. The film just 'is', it needs to 'become' something more than a one man's fight. It's not a film for everybody, because the story can be very slow for some -- but a wow for the aviator (myself). + Great directing, clever editing and a great cast! This is rebellion on a whole new (epic) level. It's a fun and more grittier adventure to the galaxy far, far away. Rogue One; like all the SW-premieres are always a fun event to experience. Fans and non-fans alike collectively get together once again for this space adventure. It's visually a big upgrade from the prequels, and it does to a certain point manage to embrace the original film's charisma. Fun, bright and enjoyable characters is a big trace -- and forget romance! This is a pure war film where companionship is everything. We follow 'Jyn Erso' and the main story is greatly focused on her, but a major letdown is the underdeveloped side-characters. They are all well presented and we get some inside to their personalities; but there's no major background nor development to characters like 'Cassian Andor'. Our main antagonist 'Orson Krennic' is very much the same. But there are some deeper layers to him, but sadly not enough to be considered a complex nor memorable villain. Because of this lack of greater depth to characters; the few emotional moments that does exist could have been even greater, because there are some great ones. The great one-liners from K-2SO is on the other hand very much appreciated, it's great that they really understand the importance of humor in the SW universe. The story that takes place is full of action, as expected -- but more importantly; the characters are the major players here. A great character-filled first act, a more passive & calmer second act, to a stunning and perhaps too massive third act -- that's Rogue One. There're many characters and places involved in this story. All of this made some of the story uneven. It kept going, from places to places, characters to characters and so on; it became an experience that's a bit too far- stretched. It lost that "wow-factor". The second act takes a step back and didn't impress me on a personal level. It's okay but nothing really impressive got to me. But I am confident enough to say to all the big SW-fans out there that you will definitely love this film, and yes there are some really impressive action pieces -- but I never got many "wow moments". It drags on and lacks a greater long-term stamina when it comes to action. When looking at the CGI; it's a major technological achievement, except for two major CGI characters that look all other than alive. They are impressive to look at; much details, but the way they interact and talk is so fake. Add a non- Williams score that's underwhelming, well the flick got flaws. But other than that I really enjoyed it! It's a good Star Wars movie. Not the best nor the worst. It got its flaws concerning the uneven storytelling and undeveloped side-characters, and some flaws are more serious than other. It's a beautiful story that's partially gritty and it got a stunning visualization of Vader. Add a darker tone, a very satisfying finale and an ending that manages to wrap everything together! That's Rogue One. It's the pure definition of rebellion. *psst don't enter this film expecting much Vader. Personal rating: 82/100 Critical rating: 70/100

A truly magical journey of mystery -- both characters and the basic premise is cleverly hidden behind this warm & happy character-diverse world. Well chosen actors and natural chemistry is a gigantic plus -- meanwhile a too simplistic and slow story might bring it a but further down. Its far-stretched and slowly developed plot, but a happy one; is a wonder to follow. Add the never ending parallels with childhood & the struggles of being young and to grow up -- with a touching and never-forgetting score by Williams. It’s a classic first (but not flawless) entry. I might not agree with the fact that roughly 70 % of the audience seems to like this messy film (Rottentomatoes) – but it’s at least not a flop. Suicide Squad – the film most of us couldn’t wait to see. The trailers looked awesome, crazy, highly inventive and just wow! But what did we get? A strong “meh”. About half of the first act (if not more…) is spent on character introductions. Just the structure and editing alone are very choppy. The story didn’t give anything impressive to the screen, most of the time. Sure, I must admit that I couldn’t wait to see all these characters in action, but even then it wasn’t enough. Yes some impressive action-pieces is on place, but they’re mostly uninventive. The pacing neither made it greater – there are serious issues when going from pure action, to slow dialog. Still; I admire the courage to have so many characters in one film – and they try to establish some depth to the main characters. I mostly enjoyed all of them – but there isn’t that much depth to any of them. They’re all right on the surface, but not more. Add a cliché-ish villain, an overly filled third act with expositions, & an unnecessary subplot that changed the focus away from the main story. Well what a “meh”. It even felt like the film didn’t want to achieve its goal – in this case; to save the world. But let’s take away the criticism for a minute. Will Smith is a gigantic plus, and the chemistry between most of the characters is natural and they’re really likable! Really! The humor though – isn’t that impressive. They tried, but never got my interest. ‘Suicide Squad’ is from my point of view a letdown – but it’s still not horrible. The plot had some fragments of fun, and I really enjoyed the crazy individuals! But I hope DC will improve! Personal rating: 60/100 Critical Rating: 30/100

The classic story comes to life once again -- in this eye-popping, live-action CGI-flick. What a ride! Just the realistic animation alone is a wow-factor! It was hard to differentiate between the real-on-set objects and the computer generated ones -- that's how CGI is supposed to be used. It's a new and modern take on this classic story, with very similar moments from its source material. Still; very different due to its realism. It got a great development of its story -- with great pacing, action, & many classic Disney-traits like morality, what’s life, who's worth more -- and how it is to be different. It even got some interesting perspectives on humanity & the constant hunt for power. It's a truly touching story -- even emotional, with all the happiness circulating around the well visualized characters. I must say -- I did not expect a so captivating film. But wow -- funny and well-fitted character-traits to these beloved individuals is a wonder! They interact in a very natural way with the environment and other characters. Our main "Mowgli", got this personal dilemma -- reflecting where to go in his life -- should I be myself, or fit in society. The film perfectly illustrates how people can affect your opinion -- is Disney trying to be the parent of movies? To summarize; 'The Jungle Book' is a stunning film for youths as adults -- it's so much more than a CGI adventure. Yes; it might not take a very different path from the original film and its story, and it's sometimes a bit too predictable. Another flaw is that I wanted even more inside to the main character -- not only about everything around him, but more about his inside and personality. Everybody out there might not consider it as a "very eventful film". But I think it's a groundbreaker! A remake? Yes. But that totally surpass its source material. Into Darkness does not fall short behind of 2009’s reboot -- it’s a big step-down, but it’s still a success when it comes to entertainment. The crew is back, with splendid characters and natural chemistry. Kirk is immature as always -- and some romance is continuously developing between Nyota and Spock. It’s not the most character-driven film -- they seriously lack more development and inside. Antagonist does on the other hand deliver relatable motivations even if a more “want-to” to win against him would have made it an even greater film. Cumberbatch brought a big win! It’s a more action-anger driven version of what we know Star Trek used to be -- with a mix of mystery, corruption & some “meh:s”. Visuals & cinematography is a pure wonder yes, but it simply isn’t that much of a “wow” -- with its less passionate story with fragments of convenient/illogical events & plot holes. The latest installment “Beyond” success over this when it comes to character depth -- this is however a better directed and got more focus on story. It’s a popcorn-flick for the sci-fi/action fan -- that’s for sure. But a “meh” ride for others. Personal rating: 80/100 Critical rating: 74/100

'The Legend of Tarzan' fails to bring a touching story to the screen -- that was supposed to capture the original magic of these well known characters. It's as much of a reboot as it is a continuation of its source material -- but it's much different. It's unnecessarily complex and less magical than expected. Characters are neither explored enough, nor given any real playground. Still; it's a somewhat fun ride, for some -- with great actors & an okay story for the one-timer. But what a rushed film! Marvel continues its renaissance of great directing -- and in this case a story of the characters, and the characters alone. Captain America: Civil War is a fight that stands on its own. It’s a personal fight -- of emotions. That’s new to the MCU. Moral questions, logical character motivations, splendid chemistry and they even put old events in a brand new perspective. Marvel finally hits on all fronts. The film is spent more on character depth rather than on humor -- it’s a more mature and serious film than what we expected to see. Team Cap vs Iron Man is full of characters yes; but it surprisingly wasn’t that messy as one might suspect. Too many? Yes. But worth it? Ohh yeah! This film and its events are all greatly motivated -- both characters and action. The action might not be top-notch due to some lack of uniqueness and long term entertainment. Too long and meh for my taste. Add some expositions, shaky-cam and a less great ending -- well it’s not a perfect film. Still; it’s one heck of a superhero flick -- a flick that’s not only action and CGI, but most important -- it's a film of characters. Personal rating: 80/100 Critical rating: 80/100

Star Trek might go a bit too beyond from its original formula -- but it works with a more up-to-date balance between action, and the much improved character depth. Star Trek was originally a show that explored the basics of morality. Complex dilemmas between cultures, religions & conflicts – even to basic questions regarding social norms and life itself. We might not have gotten that much of it in this, nor the previous two flicks – but it paid a massive respect to its roots and its legacy (it’s the shows 50th anniversary). It’s finally (somewhat) a movie for “trekkies”. ‘Star Trek Beyond’ goes much deeper into the crew than its predecessors. It’s a very fast-paced flick, but it simultaneously catches the splendid character moments. It’s a masterful balance! The film establishes the story one piece at a time, and it’s not fully understandable until in the final act. It’s the antagonist and his motivations that’s not shared until in the final sight. The visualization of the main villain “Krall” is very good – when finally understanding his motivations – which takes a while to know (some out there might even because of that, stay annoyed throughout the whole film). But the well hidden twist that awaits, is worthy a wait! The basic premise of this film lies much more on characters than the plot itself. Splendid chemistry is a gigantic plus, but the plot could have been much more passionate. There could have been a more want-to to the plot, especially to the climax. To succeed against the villain, and the motivations behind it could have been much greater. Give it more emotion! A more personal conflict! More drama! Not just action and the “several million people could die if the villain will succeed-cliché”. The story also got some convenient events that just felt off – just so the plot can develop. The change in direction could be one miss shoot – but the film really shines with its renewed energy! It’s definitely the most action-packed ST-film to date! It’s way more playful than its predecessors, and the focus lies massively on quantity rather than J.J’s quality. On a personal level did ‘Star Trek Beyond’ feel a bit too uneventful for my taste, even though that there are some really big character moments. Yes, the action did work – but in the end I wasn’t that satisfied. There are some really inventive and intense action-pieces, meanwhile others are “meh” – especially the hand-to-hand combat. But I still adore this film – with its energy & fascinating characters. Yes, even more chemistry & character depth to smaller as big characters could have made this film even greater – including less expositions and much more humor! This film surpassed my expectations, because the trailers did show something that simply wasn’t this film. It might not surpass when it comes to story, but it does with characters! Another franchise has been brought back to life, with renewed energy -- and a surprisingly well crafted script that fully understands its source material. Enterprise and its crew is back. It’s an entertaining ride with many ups and downs in this space-opera. Kirk, Spock and all the other main characters are exemplary visualized. The chemistry is natural, antagonist as protagonist's motivations are all logical, as what they should be. A well established plot with ton of action & adventure is something that most of the time will please the eye. But more character development and inside to the main individuals could have made the film even more flawless – and it might focus a bit too much on plot and action -- rather than on the characters themselves. Still, it’s a stunning ride into the vastness of space, and it’s one of my favorite films of all time! Personal rating: 100/100 Critical rating: 92/100

The sequel to the sci-fi blockbuster with the same name is a catastrophical failure. There’s no fun, no stakes -- only a messy CGI bash of nothing! We get way too many characters, some are old ones and other are completely new – but there're no inside to any of them. They’re just there to carry the story on, but we barely get to know them. Their interactions are neither that excellent, but the actors did a great job to visualize their characters – but what a waste of talented people! Still; it’s one heck of a ride with a massive amount of great action & sci-fi, and it’s without any doubt fun to finally see the classic characters back on the big screen. But what’s the fun in a film where the story is rushed, badly written and full of expositions – nothing! It’s like they came up with the basic premise meanwhile shooting the film! There are no stakes, no real want-to to win, not even to the action. It just drags along. Even though – I did enjoy the film form an action/sci-fi point of view. It's one messy, but fun ride. Personal rating: 45/100 Critical rating: 25/100

The classic sci-fi flick ”Independence Day” was a gigantic box office hit. It might be a bit cheesy from a long-term perspective but it’s still a fun ride! The film introduces our main characters pretty quickly and we get some understanding and inside to them -- but there could have been way more growth, depth and basic inside to them. Because a film is supposed to be about real people, not groovy action. We do get some basic romance between some of the characters, in an acceptable amount but not more. The characters in the story are very patriotic -- and much of the film got this “we’re all in this together” & “for the common good”-feel, and it’s a great ride with many one-liners. It’s a pure popcorn flick, that might lack character depth and of course; less plot-twists & convenient events. But who gives a damn; it’s a fun film -- for one viewing. One of Tarantino’s finest. It’s one heck of a clever and ambitiously constructed film. The simple focus on basic film-and storytelling is humongous -- it’s so stylish! We follow this, from what it looks like in the beginning; an unknown character -- and it takes time to fully understand her. And that specific wait for understanding is rewarded the longer you wait. It’s a pure revenge story that’s full of twists, blood, action & originality in many different forms – all in a stylish and ambitious way. The film got a very great inside to the antagonist, & just the fact that the film is aware of the sometimes very forced moments – well that’s just hilarious! Sure it might not be a very dialog-driven film, and it does lack character depth & development. But ‘Kill Bill’ is still one of Tarantino’s finest. Personal rating: 85/100 Critical rating: 80/100

It might not succeed VOL 1, but Tarantino sure did succeed once again. The direction of this film is as predicted very artistic and splendid as usual. It’s funny and crazy – just what Tarantino is famous for. It’s an enjoyable ride with many ups and downs, including a well illustrated villain with a clear motivation. But this isn’t as fast-paced nor entertaining as VOL 1 – not even close. There’re even some unclear motivations of some of the characters that they apparently forgot to clear out. But it got way more character depth — and it sure is an action-packed and bloody, & perhaps (for some) too bloody film. But it sure is a wild one! Personal rating: 70/100 Critical rating: 75/100

Thor is back – and it’s a messy, but entertaining one. We’re back to the Marvel universe & it’s a somewhat entertaining ride, but a very explainable one. Expositions, facts and action might be its greatest downfall. There’s not that much room for any character-depth – it’s all about the plot and the plot only. But what wouldn’t we all do for a cool and action driven CGI-flick, right!? It’s pretty enjoyable with all these intense things happening at once -- but it sure isn’t perfect. Add rushed romance, convenient & accidental plot-events, a cliché-ish villain and minor plot holes, well it’s definitely not Marvel’s finest. But it’s an enjoyable ride. A weirdly written -- but greatly amusing fairy tale that shines with humor fit for both kids & adults. The plot is very focused on what it means to be human. Romance, friendships - to be alone, to feel ugly and basic human emotions. It's one movie of its kind -- so odd but the writing is exemplary! We follow these well visualized characters on their paths through the tale and it is an entertaining & happy ride! Sure some out there might think it's a "too immature film" -- and the animation is in comparison with today's standards very vague. But it's one heck of a film! 'Finding Dory' might not succeed Nemo, but it sure is a close one. It’s a fast paced family flick with, as always, a lot of focus on family, friendship and love. The humor is as expected very clever and so are the swimming characters — just the chemistry and the continuing development of these individuals is a wonderful experience on the big screen. There might be some slow and (very) convenient moments yes — but boy it’s good. Personal rating: 74/100 Critical rating: 85/100

An immature but somewhat hilarious ride into the Grimsby world. The film can go from very serious, to overly random in seconds. The lack of character depth is exceptional but a few laughs here and there is always a good thing. The focus lies heavily on humor rather than on the characters alone and yes, it’s a very immature film and it might not work for everyone. But it’s one messy but funny flick! A failed attempt to reproduce the “somewhat” glamour-ish ‘Olympus Has fallen’, but failed with originality, character depth and basic storytelling. It’s a big action-sequel but it doesn’t have the thrills nor the breathtaking aspects that’s supposed to define the genre. Add non-existing & despicable characters; well that’s ‘London Has Fallen’. The whole flick is about the fast plot and plot only, which is fun for some individuals but meh for others, and the structure of the film is one big mess with expositions and predictability all over the place. The actors though. Damn great! But what a waste of their careers. Another film with destruction of famous landmarks, but it’s a fast-paced and somewhat enjoyable (but messy) ride. An overly apocalyptic continuation of the X-Men franchise shines with its quick story and visual glamour – but a cliché-ish villain, underdeveloped characters & not that many surprises is a bad fact. The dust has settled from “Days of Future Past”, and for many that might even be the best in the series. “X-Men: Apocalypse” might not surpass DoFP, but it’s still a fine film – for some. The focus is heavily on Magneto & Charles; meanwhile smaller characters are easily left out – development nor inside to them are neither presented in an acceptable amount. Our antagonist is a classic villain from the past but where’s the drama? Where’s the depth? Where’s the understanding? All he gives is destruction. But with destruction comes action; and Brian Singer once again shines with his direction, and Quicksilver. It’s an entertaining film with some clever humor here and there, but it’s not more than that. The plot is acceptable but it doesn’t really feel like an X-Men film. The focus is much more on the plot rather than on the characters — and the objective could have been much better presented; there isn’t a strong want-to for the success of our heroes. A somewhat predictable story and a lack of creativeness is another aspect. But it’s still an enjoyable ride into the world of our beloved heroes – even though the majority are very underdeveloped. It’s no fair comparison against DoFP, and it’s not a bad movie – but not exemplary either. Personal rating: 70/100 Critical rating: 65/100

With its never seen before marketing strategy; Deadpool smashed the box office with its 4th-wall-breaker humor. It’s a blast with all these random meta-references, splendid action & funny, but also meh-humor. It’s a fun ride for some, but a meh for others. It’s a classic revenge story that might be too non-inventive & lack a higher purpose to smaller characters & antagonists. But it manages to bring an almost unknown character to life, in a hilarious & immature way – even though the movie didn’t bother to add some extra focus to the story than on visual shine. BvS is a fine example of Zach Snyder’s awful storytelling, but it’s an enjoyable (& messy) ride with many ups, downs but mostly: “meh-s”. It’s a great ethical ride into the DC Universe with more perspective on the events that transpired in ‘Man of Steel’, and it does succeed to bring more development of the plot. It got a clever way to mislead our two main heroes, and the audience, to think that they are each others enemies. But the way the movie was crafted wasn’t that much of a clever move. It’s one overly long flick with way too many introductions of characters & their corresponding backgrounds. Ben Affleck shines, meanwhile the motivations of Batman himself and his doings is very questionable. It’s the same with some of the other characters; bad writing? The romance however is surprisingly adorable, but vaguely developed nor a better inside to their love is ever seen. The development of the characters is not to be undermined though; very genuine understanding of why and how events transpire is a constant trait. Did Zach Snyder improve? Yes, but not nearly enough. BvS might lack severe plot holes as what MoS had, but instead it presented new problems of his direction. His never ending love for vague CGI and destruction is never going to go away. BvS started in a very mature, figurative & overall great way with even some political & “morality vs emotions”- moments. But then reality checked in, and Snyder delivered a stunning visual mess with an unnecessary third baddie and a meh-and-predictable ending. Still; it’s a superhero flick and for the fans I hope it’ll please with its groovy action. But how long can DC continue to fail so many of the existing audience, while only please a “small” majority? It might actually be Zach Snyder’s last, even though it does show promise to many out there, even for me to some degree. Personal rating: 70/100 Critical rating: 50/100

Man of Steel – Revisited DC has entered the cinematic universe, and it all begins with this 2013 entry – ´Man of Steel´. The basics aren’t that well presented, it even goes a bit meh after a couple viewings, even though it still got its action-glamour. Plot holes, messy action & rushed storylines somehow didn’t get caught up in the writing process. A great background of the man from Krypton is a wonderful aspect yes, it even managed to bring a few ethical dilemmas to light, but the basics didn’t. The action is without any doubt great, but to fail to enlighten the audience a better, and a less odd storyline that doesn’t leave them with an “ugh that was odd”-feel; that’s bad storytelling. Our antagonist is on the other hand understandable, and both him and our main hero are very well established, and we get a lot insides to their past self, even though Zod just is a classic angry-villain. One thing is for sure and undeniable fact with this Snyder-flick; Hans Zimmer’s score might be the best aspect. Meanwhile shaky cam, an overly packed amount of vague CGI & some small fragments of overacting; that’s something BvS really got to overcome. But will Zach Snyder be able to look beyond his past and truly succeed with BvS? For the sake of the DC Universe, he better will. Personal rating: 70/100 Critical rating: 51/100

A great and thought-provoking drama with a constant trait of all-knowing human sides like love & obsession. It’s a stunning and stylish story that never ends to impress, with its progressive way of presenting this clear and well done character arc; an arc that makes you feel Lili Elbe’s inner fight against the strong want-to; to be able to love, and to be who we are, and not to hide. It might be a bit controversial, but “The Danish Girl” does stand out with its great and bad aspects. Two are exemplary lightning and very character fitting music; meanwhile mixed editing-quality, misplaced cinematography & some fragments of overacting might be some of the greatest disadvantages of having a such ambitious drama. But the higher purpose of this film overwhelms the downsides by tenfold. It’s the drama we need more of, even though many out there probably will misjudge the whole gender-part. 007 is back, way back to the old & classic days of action & thrills -- but I don’t recall forced romance, rushed plot-lines nor vague writing being a part of this ”shoot first, ask later-franchise”. It’s James Bond; intense & cliché-ish action isn’t something new to the genre, and it does bring some great & odd moments to the screen. It’s a great action-flick, but not more than that. The major lack of a better visualization of characters, protagonist as antagonist, are shockingly vague. There’re some understanding & depth to the plot & characters -- but there could have been so much more. Character development? Relatable romance? More originality? Character & plot motivation? A not-odd and non-fitting title-sequence? Nope, not much of that. Still an entertaining & eye-popping flick, yes -- but at the expense of the future of the franchise, that’s for sure. ’Bridge of Spies’ illustrates how emotions, in a realistic way, can overrun basic moral & human rights. It’s much more than a drama. It got a nuanced story where both characters & nations are told from different perspectives. It might even be one of Spielberg’s finest -- and it got a clever way of presenting the never ending theme of morality. Basic values of human life(s) & the everlasting stagnation of war through ”growing walls rather than people”, are present traits of Spielberg. Tom Hanks continues to outperform, he delivers a very relatable James Donovan. He could have had more maturing, & it’s not a film for the drama-hater, but there isn’t that much more to criticize about. Well written dialogs are on the other hand shockingly character fitting, & the metaphoric images throughout the film only strengthens Spielberg’s position among today’s filmmakers. A journalistic fight against morality that, is more than a true & depressing story, its a need to know -- a story that’s well worthy of the Oscars. The realism & intensity of the plot is a stunning trace. It’s like a tense documentary with these diverse & well visualized characters that, tries to bring this incredible story to life, a story that will bring both suffering and horror to them. It’s a pure dialog-driven film that might be too plot-centric, and due to that fact are characters not given that much playground for any depth nor development. A fact-based drama like this flick isn't for everybody, but it is based on a true story -- just the realism, clever and flawless directing, might bring an Oscar to the ’Spotlight’. An almost three hour long dialog-western were most of the time is spent on exchanging stories, lies and basic human traits; how can that be fun? But it sure is, but not everybody appears to agree on that since, yes; it’s a slow film and there are some boring moments (!). QT is back with his most intense dialog-driven flick that might not surpass his previous films but it’s a near, but deeper, miss. It’s all about human traits, and this might be a meh-film for some, but a masterpiece for others. But it sure isn’t a wild action-western. The well written dialogs keeps the film have this cold, dark & deep feel for these crazy, sick & wild characters. The film is highly driven on unpredictability. The plot is like a puzzle; many small events that eventually leads to something greater (& bloody). TH8 is a brave move by Quentin, and a highly original and artistic one. Too slow plot, too dialog-driven, too stereotypical & a lack of plot-development & top-notch humor, might be flaws for some. But the beauty of basic filmmaking with stunning camerawork and a clever editing; well Tarantino does not lack creativity. Personal rating: 73/100 Critical rating: 87/100

An overly complex ride into the real truth of our globalized & capitalized world. ’The Big-falls just-Short’ behind from being a great true story -- with a clever and advanced plot, but too vaguely visualized characters is a fact. There’re some great depth to the characters, but they never give any real excitement -- even though that there are some few, even smart, moments to them. Great acting and writing is a present aspect yes, and the vast ambitious story tries to simplify many definitions that’s too complex for the normal citizen to understand -- but mostly fail due to the lack of even more simplifications. This is a pure dialog-driven film, and it can be draggy. But it still does manage to bring many realistic facts to life, but ”the normal man isn’t knowledgeable enough” -- that’s the major flaw of this ’Parks and Recreation-ish’ direction flick. One of Spielberg’s longest and finest, and that first part might be its major disadvantage. ’Saving Private Ryan’ captures the realistic darkness of humanity and its struggle against the basic morality of right and wrong. Spielberg portrayals death through his smart directing, and never stops to seize the audience through these never ending up-growing characters, due to the fact that we barely understand what they’re going through, but somehow never stop to relate to them. It definitely is Oscar-worthy, but it got much more to tell about the dark side of humanity rather than on the war itself; so don’t expect a Michael Bay flick, and it sure isn’t flawless. The motivation why to save Ryan isn't perfect, and the vast amount of characters drags the depth of the main & excellent ones down. But it’s both a major technical & moral achievement. Jupiter Ascending is the pure definition of a **** film where nobody feel any interest to the plot. Jupiter Descending is the **** of 2015. That felt so good.

There are many characteristic mentions in this review, and that’s really what this film is about; Steve Jobs and his personality. From the writers of ’The Social Network’ and the book ’Steve Jobs’ comes a realistic and truly dialog-driven biography-flick, that even made Steve Wozniak believe that Jobs was there in his younger self. The plot itself is centralized on three Apple-related events, and they all move very fast. The dialogs are so intense and packed with humor, emotions and realistic drama. Anger, embarrassment and basic human traits are all thrown over the place. ’Steve Jobs’ is high paced & dialog-driven film, that might be too fast for some and a bit too boring (dialogs) for others. But it’s without any doubt a spectacular film were characters are presented in an exemplary and realistic way. Yes, some of you might find it a bit too dialog-driven and even boring, and it really depends what kind of movies you like. The man of Apple is a very complex character, but they managed to present him in a splendid way. His personality; the way he see things and his behavior is so well visualized! The father-daughter relationship and the overall chemistry between different characters is exemplary, and most of the credit must go to the well chosen actors and the high-paced dialogs that never stops to irritate and even fascinate the main characters. There are many moments where things go badly, not just plot-related events; characters as well! Michael Fassbender might not have the splendid look as what Ashton Kutcher managed to transform himself into in the less impressive ’Jobs-film’, but that’s the only downside. Fassbender didn't do just fine in this flick, we’re talking about a major transform into Steve Jobs himself. His performance might even be Oscar worthy, time will only tell. It might be his best performance to date, that’s for sure. A five star-worthy performance of a really complex character, well done! But it’s still not a flawless movie (none is); due to the very complexity of Steve Jobs, his development didn’t come of as very abstract. There could have been more change and conflict in him, but being a complex individual does make one understand why the writers didn't go further with him. Yes; its another Apple-related film, but what is ’Steve Jobs’ really? It’s so much more than a tech-biography; it's a deep and understandable inside to what friendship, egoism, family, love, visions & obsessions can result into. Add a splendid direction by Danny Boyle with smooth camerawork, artistic moments, and of course the clever editing; that’s ’Steve Jobs’. Personal Rating: 82/100 Critical rating: 95/100

J.J just successfully did what the creator himself couldn't do with the prequels. Star Wars has returned to its roots where humor, action and beloved characters are all combined in a flawless way. *Spoiler free review* ’Star Wars The Force Awakens' is a wonderful journey of, once again; good and evil. It’s definitely the most character-driven movie of the franchise to this date, and it really is a good one. We see similar faces and a bunch of new ones. Rey, Finn & Han are the major players and they all have a spectacular chemistry and surprisingly much humor. We experience wonderful development of both old as new individuals, and the acting performance of this diversity-friendly flick is five-star worthy! One character’s fate is a big event in this film. Some of you might find it like a smart move meanwhile others just find it like a bad one. I think it gave the film a brand new future. But it’s still a bad choice by the writers from a story-perspective. Can the franchise really continue after this event? The moment could also have been much more powerfully presented. Rey is probably going to be the new favorite of this trilogy. She’s smart, funny, independent and just fantastic. We see her develop in a wonderful way, but there are two moments in this film where her character might have been too rushed into development. But this might be further explained in episode 8 & 9, were they probably will establish more background to her character. Kylo Ren is another big individual in this space-epic. As the main protagonist does he somewhat hold up as the new Darth Vader. Sure, he's not as menacing nor as awesome but he's without any doubt one of the best villains in the whole franchise (and the most complex). But there are a few minor aspects with that make him look a bit flawed. He got a very special behavior and I do find it very unique to see a villain like him act like this. But there could have been much more understanding to why he act like he does. He sometimes come of as an immature and childish villain, and I miss a better background why he act in this peculiar way. The second time I saw this film though, made me look at Rey's and Kylo's flaws in a much less critical way. There're hints throughout the film that might give an inside to why they are as they are. J.J and his mystery box; I should have known it wouldn't be simple enough to notice everything in the first viewing. The movie starts in a very high-paced way and it continues to be exactly that throughout the whole flick. I especially love the first act; it's the most character-driven, action packed and intense part of the movie. There, characters are quickly introduced and the feel throughout the movie is very "SW-ish, it really is a return to the old days. But 'The Force Awakens' might use too much of the old ingredients and less of new ones. There are very many similar aspects from the original trilogy, perhaps too many. The lack of originality of the plot in the 2nd and 3rd act made the film a bit meh, I wanted more to happen since there weren't that many original nor mind-blowing scenes. It's kinda the same with the action; very similar to the old days and too remake-ish. The second screening did however boost the action-feel, even though there could have been more originality and power to the action. Those were pretty much my biggest complains about this film. The plot is very remake-ish yes, but I still enjoyed it and it never drags along! It's great to, after have seen the film three times, still have several questions that remains unanswered. There are tons of aspects that could have been better yes; like that the music had too little drama, power and thrills or that there wasn't enough space or that too many scenes were shown in the trailers. Yes, the film got flaws. But ohh boy it's good. It's been thirty years since RoTJ and we still, after seen the film, got questions. Everything basic with the film is excellent - flawless dialogs with humor, minimum exposition are presented in a very discrete way, splendid & unique J.J-cinematography and one of the most emotional endings in the franchise (but a bit too convenient). Everything that George Lucas failed to deliver in the prequels are top-notch in this film! Star Wars has finally returned, and it really uses a lot of its passed self to build this new foundation on. Sure it’s no 'Empire Strikes Back', but it didn't need to be. It’s one of the best in the series, but not as inventive! J.J Abrams gave the franchise new energy, but perhaps too much to please the fans and forgot the regular moviegoers. It's a character driven fan flick, and it got better after every time I saw it (3 times). There're lots of teases throughout the film that really did diminish the flaws that are mentioned above, and it took time to notice them. Star Wars is finally back! *Spoiler free review* Leonardo DiCaprio's endless hunt for the future Oscar comes to an end with a stunning performance in this realistic, dark and overall stunning cinematography-masterpiece. We follow Hugh Glass in the late 1820s of America and his endless fight for survival. It's a suffering journey towards redemption, revenge and of course the continuous passion for living. The realistic direction by Iñárritu, who also directed Birdman, is a present aspect. Just the long, smooth & realistic close-ups and overall sequences are stunningly shot! We see our characters react and express their inner self in a true way that, thanks too the once again great camera work, makes the film something extraordinary and very rare in todays-filmmaking. Even when characters are in real danger and much intensity are a present thing, we still get close and detailed scenes, we even experience the condensation of water from the breath on the camera lens! Wow! The tone of this always-intense, non-stop movie is extraordinary, they went for a real, shoot on location-only flick and we got exactly that. Fingers, body parts and blood are flying wildly and all over the camera and it feels real. It feels like it really did happen. That's how good 'The Revenant is'; never boring. DiCaprio continues to impress, and he really does have a spectacular performance as Glass. His great passion for acting gives his character much power, and combined with a wonderful and deep writing, we have a very understandable antagonist! Alongside with DiCaprio does Gleeson have a major role, and he steals it! Both ant-and-protagonist are very understandable and it's not a very complex chemistry, which could have been more explored yes I agree, but it didn't have to be that way. The father-son relationship though, could have been much more developed and emotionally-bonded. There wasn't anything unique nor anything 'that very' special about it. It's good yes, but it's just a small aspect that could have been more explored for a better emotional impact. The dialogs are another minor aspect, there's nothing wrong with them but some out there will probably find them a bit boring, and if that's the case I think this movie isn't perfect for you. This really is a real and slick survival film that made oneself aware of how dark and dangerous the world can be, while at the same time being barely watchable due to the intense and horrifying moments of this Oscar nominee. The only dialogs and characters 'The Craptom Menace' successfully did manage to deliver are the droid's. The rest are awful as they are **** But this **** is what I grew up to love and still does (somewhat). In the end of the past millennium came several big blockbusters that eventually changed the movie industry. The CGI-era was introduced with several big blockbusters like 'Jurassic Park' and 'Independence Day'. But in 1999; 'Star Wars' was back and it arrived with glamorous effects that was way ahead of its time. But was the man named George Lucas still up for the job? Fans of the original films were disappointed and still are, even though it's been more than 15 years since. But it still managed to inspire a new generation of fans, like myself, to this universe that takes place in a galaxy far away. Today; I'm still not sure if this is a somewhat good or a bad movie. I grew up with this space-opera and it still got a place in my heart. 'Star Wars: The Phantom Menace’ is still a movie full of stupid and hilarious flaws. The plot isn't simple, thats a big flaw right there. It's not that subtle, it keeps going, and it therefore often is very unpredictable (which is a good thing). But much of the story is vaguely written. Add a stupid amount of plot-holes and tonnes of silliness too; then you got this flick. George Lucas got a great feel for adding stupid and non-important subplots that just do more harm than good. The cool and entertaining podrace is one example. This is 'Star Wars', and I’m watching a race. Not a race to death but as in sport. Sure it’s the story of Anakin Skywalker and we see him in his younger age as a skilled and powerful pilot, but it’s still a race. Is this really a prequel to the 'Star Wars' George Lucas once invented? As mentioned; it’s a very messy and high-paced flick, which is noticeable near the third act. We see events take place on the ground, up in space and so on. The story is so spread out on different characters that no emotion nor empathy to them get’s real. Other disturbing aspects with the plot are the stupid and illogical decisions many characters keeps making over and over. It doesn't make anything better that many of the dialogs are expressed when the characters are sitting down, talking and debating; rather than during intense moments like what we saw in ’The Empire Strikes Back’. The center of the film isn’t on one specific character and because of that; the whole movie is more of a ’previously’ than an origin story. ’The Phantom Menace’ should have been so much better if the center of the plot was on one character and one alone, and then develop and focus a great story on that specific individual. Not to add more non-important ones like Jar Jar Binks. Our main characters are on the other hand very well presented, and a very good performance from Liam Neeson! Nathalie Portman however; is very one-dimensional and dry with her dialogs. When it comes to the characters, are there not that much depth nor backstory to them. We don't really know that much about them and they don't impress that much if you must compare to the original films. The plot is as mentioned very high-paced, which I’ve grown up to love with its space-opera and action. But it might be a ”too plot centered” movie. There's no time to get to know our characters nor get to understand them. Our main protagonist Darth Maul is another example. He’s a very cool and badass villain, but how much do we know about him? How much does he say -- he’s just a baddie. One aspect of these prequel-films are the incredibly forced moments where characters must show their emotion and what they see and think; through dialogs. Many dialogs are unnecessary, we know stuff, but they say it anyway. Look at the main protagonist and antagonists when they are confronting each other; how much interaction do they have on an emotional level? Do they really interact? This was supposed to be the origin story of legendary characters like Darth Vader and Obi-wan Kenobi, but is it? It’s definitely a movie of many flaws, but it still got some positivity. I’ve always loved all the action, space-opera, battles, sound effects, music, cinematography and of course the overall adventures of the main antagonists. The main lead from Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are somewhat solid but of course not that deep or relatable. The CGI are on the other hand very mind-blowing for a movie that came out over 15 years ago. I’ve always loved this movie, and I still do. Yes, I'm overly entertained by a ****ty movie that shouldn't be okay to like at all. But this was my first entry to the galaxy far away, and it still got a place in my heart. But it still is a pretty awful movie from a critical viewpoint; with horrible dialogs, one-dimensional characters and a very vague story. Add childish humor with fart and poop jokes and too-many-to-mention accidental save the day-moments; welcome to ’The Craptom Menace’. Personal rating: 78/100 Critical rating: 42/100

The Star Wars franchise 'end' in one of the most uniquely way ever seen in movie history. As expected; 'Star Wars: Return of The Jedi' continues where 'The Empire Strikes Back ended'. It starts with the same high-paced and highly entertaining plot as what the fifth entry had. The opening scene and its first 30 minutes are actually the best in the whole franchise. It continues with the fun and nuanced characters and the beloved chemistry we all have fallen in love with. Surely; it's no 'Empire Strikes Back', but it still stands out as a great film! It might be less inventive with a somewhat similar plot as episode four, and much less chemistry between characters. But it's still very good! We see Luke develop, changing to the better, having to choose from the better good or loose to the hate. A wonderful character arc! There's so much emotion to the movie too, not to mention depth and power to the plot! But as previously mentioned; it's not as stunning to the eye as the previous movie, not as flawless or powerful neither. But it still stands on its own as an entertaining and somewhat characteristic movie. Yes the effects are old; but it's very good for a movie that came out in the 80s, so don't you dare to criticize the movie because of that. One thing that drastically worsened the ending was the newer special edition. It totally ruined the ending. I mean Anakin Skywalker as a ghost, really?! Not to mention the stupid and unnecessary new CGI-footage. A stupid but understandable attempt to connect the prequel with the original movies. Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi is an awesome movie. The story is magnificent and beautiful, not to mention the fantastic music, the great actors and the high amount of action! But it suffers with a less inventive plot and less depth to the characters. Personal Rating: 80/100 Critical Rating: 75/100

One of the most successful, iconic, quoted, and beautifully made sci-fi continuation still holds up as a stunning adventure of both love and hope, that also's considerably deeper and much darker than the original. Some things are unnecessary to mention; like the effects, the music, the characters, the villain, the action-sequences and the ending. Because it's one of those aspects that are so perfectly done, and so artistic that I don't even need to mention them. What really matters is that this movie is incredible, and it really is one of the best ever made. It's a fun ride with funny and enjoyable characters, human as robots, in this galaxy far, far away. It's not just the humanitarian chemistry between Luke, Leia and Han; 3PO and R2 are the major players that keeps the movie going. It's not just a movie about wars, blasters and explosions; it's a spectacular story of love and emotions. The way the movie is done is so extraordinary, sure the practical effects are nothing to todays standards, but it's very well done by the time it was made. So don't you even dare to criticize the effects! It's stunning for its time! Sure it might got some minor plot-holes (if you even can call them that) and yes it's no avatar with stunning eye-popping effects. But we are spoiled with today and its great effects, and movies are not just about that. Star Wars is about love and many other things that I hope you will love and keep close to your heart.
