Of course, if you loathed the first film, this one probably won't do much to change your mind. But fans, and I count myself among them, of the Weitz brothers' unexpectedly enjoyable original will find themselves in a familiar and perhaps comforting place … filthy language, risqué situations, die-hard friendships, and all.

The laughs that do achieve liftoff are killer. But the real kick is seeing the old gang back and ready to party.

Congratulations, this part is on the same level as the first one: again you have a lot of embarrassing scenes, with a great timing to be so funny. Nice to see all the actors together again.

American Reunion depends more on the audience's feelings for recognizable characters than telling an original story, so adjust your expectations accordingly.

Halfway through, everyone starts drinking heavily and the film turns into agreeably sloppy fun. (Isn't that always the way – class reunions often perk up when someone spikes the punch.)

The movie's only constant pleasure - heck, the whole franchise's - is Eugene Levy as Jim's dad, widowed and wondering if it's time to date again.

While it's poignant seeing the whole gang again, the tired gross-out antics and limp romantic reprisals keep this hapless if heartfelt effort from qualifying as a decent comedy, let alone a generational classic.

Scenes will wander from gross-out gag to sentimental schmaltz to pervy leer to cheap nostalgia within a 30-second span, utterly free of clear directorial guidance. Even worse, very little of it is remotely funny.

Awesome! American fu**ing Reunion!!
This is a real American Pie movie! FINALLY! The return of Stifler, Jim, Finch, and... Stifler's Mom!
Go to the theater, and left with a large smile in your face!

While it wasn't always particularly funny, some of the acting wasn't always good and most of what happens isn't very believable, but it had it's moments and if you are a fan of the other American Pie movies, you'll probably appreciate this one.

Hilarious moments that bring back classic American Pie chewing-gum slapstick comedy that curdles a fuzzy nostalgia of previous American Pie films. And right there is the problem - the dialogue is too similar (over used) and the story arc is over familiar.

Lost the humor of it's predecessors. Crude americanized jokes can't keep on, for 1.5 hours. Producers, please don't make another one, you're spoiling the taste of the previous versions...

Going into 'American Reunion' never having seen any of the previous films in the series I can still sense that the franchise is feeling its age. There is a rivalry going on here between sentimentality and raunchiness (raunchiness ends up being the victor most of the time) that don't blend into a consistent tonal whole throughout and, despite these battling factors, 'American Reunion' ends up being rather dramatically lame and kind of unfunny. Seeing these characters act childish and horny might have been funny ten years ago, but watching them at the age of thirty, it's kind of sad. Jason Biggs and Sean William Scott seem willing enough to devote themselves to each crude bit, but the filmmakers are solely interested in having these grown men forced into embarrassing and juvenile situations in which soon after someone catches them in the act. The movie ends up repeating itself so maddeningly often in this fashion. Whatever attempts that are made to stitch on a believable plot attempt to be pushed into the corner by crudity. A reunion that never should have happened.
