The stagnant machinery of a reckless descent: A 2.0-star vivid but pathetic drift through high-tension delinquency.2012(2.0)I watched Alpha Dog in 2012, and it remains a pathetic 2.0-star record in my archive—a raw revelation of how a sensational true-crime story can be trapped in a narrative rhythm that feels 100% mechanical and stagnant. This experience **** the fourth wall of the gritty crime drama by infusing a narrative rhythm that felt far too stagnant, dragging through a pathetic cycle of aimless partying and hollow bravado that lacked the chewy intellectual wit of my top-tier records. While the production attempted a sensational portrayal of suburban gang culture, the narrative rhythm was far from the sophisticated rebellion found in No, instead delivering a vivid but pathetic struggle of misguided youths that provided no emotional payoff. Seeing the vivid, chaotic energy of the kidnapping provided a rhythmic sense of dread, but the execution felt stagnant, leaving me in a state of silent frustration at the lack of storytelling rebellion. The 95% preservation of my memory is dominated by the stagnant, raw irritation of the characters' pathetic choices and the vivid but pathetic execution of the tragic conclusion, creating a journey that felt more like a gloomy chore than a permanent, sensational scar on my soul. Unlike the vivid soul of Zoolander or the raw brilliance of Dogma, this encounter possessed a rhythm that was far too stagnant to evoke genuine excitement in 2012. It stands in my record as a vivid exercise in hollow tension—a 2.0-star artifact of rhythmic boredom that remained too pathetic to achieve a sensational impact on my psychological archive.

Alpha Dog is a lesson, it's an open minded, it's a movie that dragling, added with an amazing performance by all the cast, Alpha Dog was a horrible true story, stupid but realistic and it's amazing.

Let me get something off of my chest, "Alpha Dog" is a film soaked in fiction with its love of exploiting hyper-masculinity, high flying martial arts kicks, and everybody delivering pretentious and hammy performances with a Bruce Willis father figure (barely in the film) to only further drive the point home that this is a fictitious over-the-top film with another predictable teens and drugs story. Right, now take everything I just said in the above paragraph and apply that to a non-fiction story where all of the witnesses and people involved in set story are being portrayed by big name actors who, under the direction of Cassavetes, try to relate and tug at the heart-strings of the audience with music, sound effects, and the aforementioned hyper-masculinity. The latter especially **** the limelight away from the film's already weak plot which should always be any film's focus. What a disgustingly manipulative piece of Hollywood dribble! It makes me sad and sick because this true story can be better represented than what this garbage film had to offer. By the end, it left one nasty sour taste in my mouth.

Alpha Dog is an alright true crime drama. Endlessly riveting and entirely tragic, Alpha Dog really manages to break your heart, especially thanks to Justin Timberlake, Anton Yelchin, and Sharon Stone's performances. Together, they really bring the emotion and break your heart in half. Ben Foster in a truly unhinged role is brilliant and off-the-wall. Emile Hirsch and Bruce Willis are both very good as well and exude cool and authority. However, the film lacks flow due to its attempts to set up the case and include interviews with real people throughout. Instead of a film, it feels like a special on HLN or something for much of the runtime with dramatic reenactments dispersed throughout. That said, it is entertaining and a very sad film to watch unfold even with the narrative failures.

Disney boy Timberlake as a tatted up thug swearing on a flip-phone about a drug deal while drinking whiskey from a bottle. L to the O to the L! The one good thing about this movie? Viewing with others can be a hoot for once you realize how bad it is (which is nearly immediately), the fact that it's supposed to be serious or dramatic morphs it into a comedy for nearly every scene is hilarious due to: 1. Horrendous and abundant over-acting. 2. Ignorant plot. 3. Moronic dialogue. 4. Putrid direction. 5. Much more. Beware: don't play the drink every time you hear the F word game with your friends on this one as you'll all die from alcohol poisoning. Every single person involved with this movie should be ashamed of themselves for being a part of this ridiculous garbage.

This movie shows the real face of the most American people. I liked it, because it has a unpredictable story. It's great to watch with friends. So i recommend it with my final score 7/10

This movie deserves more credit from everyone. The development of the relationship between the kid and timberlake's character is easily the biggest thing this movie has going for it. The story is absurd and I don't know how much of this is "true" but what I do know is that by the end I felt for the characters, so it obviously did something right.

The movie's cast is seriously spoiled. But despite these obstacles, "Alpha Dog" does a pretty good job maneuvering itself chronologically till the end.

The issues with the movie were the beginning was very convoluted. Then once the movie got going it became a very good movie. However at the end it left a few hole that should have been answered. Over all it was an enjoyable movie but could have been better.

I'm absolutely against violence, but the rage of Ben Fosters character spoke to me. I found a sincerity in the acting that I wont forget. This is one of my favorite movies; primarily due to the base emotions it elicited in me. It's not for everyone, but if you feel this movie is for you I highly recommend it.

Based on actual events that took place in 1999, drug dealers fall out, kid brother gets kidnapped, shenanigans happen.
I have never seen a film where I wanted all the characters to die within the first five minutes of them being on screen. Tries to be slick, witty & wit da kidz but just comes across as brash, brainless & plain annoying.
