I really wanted to love this chapter but it just missed every mark and even seemed to have slipped course from the teasers and announcement trailers I saw. Didn't care for almost any of it. Dumb.

Absolutely unwatchable cringe fest. The character with a cowboy hat, they made especially so he can recognize the country song on a transmission. Banana peel slip, not once but TWO times on the same puddle, turned it off right after that. Besides that absolutely awful dialog and acting. They couldn't even represent character's story and instead put her moaning in front of screen since the beginning. Like, no one even knows your name yet, ZERO background, who why what, who cares.

Another good film in this franchise. Not as great as Prometheus or the first Alien film, but decent enough. Some decent acting and direction throughout, and a good storyline kept me watching to the end. I'd watch it again!

Greetings from Lithuania.
"Alien: Covenant" (2017) is a way lesser sequel to the far superior "Prometheus" (2012). Clearly the ton has changed and this film leant more into "Alien" films as we know it, because box office and most likely studio demands got in a way of Ridley Scotts ambitious. But his ambitious are still present - the whole idea of "Covenant" and David as a character is to elevate this franchise into something far more intellectually and philosophically ambitious then it was before. And that is were problems with these two film begins. The ideas are bigger then they needed to be. Because at the end of the day, "Alien" isn't "Blade Runner" and there are no point into exploring idea of why and who created human, when at its core "Alien" is a horror thriller science fiction franchise. The whole creation idea belongs not in Alien franchise in my opinion. And in comparison, "Covenant" this time is more about xenomorph.I loved "Prometheus" back in 2012, and the latest movie serves as a sequel to "Prometheus", prequel to "Alien" and a standalone movie - but as of 2025 this spin off ended with Covenant. It is not hard to see way. It's a hard to sell idea, far more ambitious then more simple "Romulus" - film that i enjoyed a bit more then "Covenant" because its simply an "Alien" film once again.Still, "Covenant" is a very good film to look at. Ridley Scott is a great director when it comes to visuals, and with far lesser budget then "Prometheus", he still managed to make a film that is mostly a gorgeous to look at. Settings were good, acting was uniformly good by everyone with the standout performance by the always great Michael Fassbender and surprisingly solid by Danny McBride. This time is more about xenomorph - and i enjoyed it for that. There are few amazingly staged action sequences near the end.Overall, "Alien: Covenant" is a very well crafted movie for those who loved "Alien" movies and this universe. It is very ambitious movie in its ideas, but at the same time those ideas were to heavy for this film to fly. It stumbles heavily and it is a mixed bag. Still this is a great looking movie and at the running time 2 hours i was involved despite its flaws.

An improvement over the muddled story telling of Prometheus and a solid sci-fi/horror flick in its own right, but the sheer stupidity of many of the characters actions was hard to get over.

The most stupid Alien movie I have ever seen. I've seen them all. The level of idiocy is beyond all limits. Ridley wanted the new Star Wars but got Star Dementia.

Fassbender is absolutely amazing as usual but that can't save the movie, the David/Walter arc is practically unrelated to the rest. Same bs as Prometheus, too much explaining shoved in the face kills it. The psycho android wanting to destroy humanity is a beautiful, beautiful villain, but it doesn't fit in with the Aliens no matter how much wishful thinking they push into the script. The final result of his fiddling (aliens) is a billion steps back from the original 'substance', that they uselessly introduced in Prometheus. They suk as bioweapon.. they can take out some isolated colonies without weapons at best. Provided someone kindly transports them and places the eggs near a nursimg home, a school or a bar... :/ And the odds of a colony ship having a malfunction in range of a magically appeared inhabitable planet are.. plain insulting. But finding wheat on a planet from which they received a broadcast with 'Take me home country roads', THAT was the unlikely event for the characters.. omg. Anyway, everything in the movie is at different levels of stupid. The best parts are literally the actors talking, the slightest bit of action is cr@p. And what happened to James Franco and Noomi Rapace.. How is this not a wtf moment.. Thankfully the 'trilogy' won't have a third one..

Esta película no es la mejor que he visto de la saga Alien, pero tiene ideas interesantes, y las sabe desarrollar de forma correcta

Alien: Covenant continues the cold, quiet, and eerie atmosphere of Prometheus, while further exploring the origins of the Xenomorphs. Michael Fassbender's stellar performance and the captivating design of his character are among the film's highlights.

Ten-plus years after the fate of the Prometheus, a new venture stumbles across its remains and inadvertently sets loose the dark, dangerous secrets contained within. Where director Ridley Scott over-indulged his cryptic, cerebral side with Prometheus, here he over-corrects that course and produces a film that seems a dash too superficial. After five Alien films (seven if you include the Predator crossovers), there's already plenty of lore to feed on, and this time Scott seems content to do precisely that, rather than add another layer to the onion skin. Covenant is an inessential film - apart from the final fate of the preceding crew, we learn very little - but an efficient, well-made one. I felt more attached to the human element of this cast, which was a problem with Prometheus, so their violent trials provide better tension. Danny McBride is an unusual choice for the hero, and his performance doesn't completely justify the distraction of such a familiar face, but it's not like that's uncharted territory for the franchise so I'm willing to give some leeway. Elsewhere, Michael Fassbender seems wasted in a dual role as matching cyborgs with a weakness for long, Shakespearean monologues. Strong as an action picture, with some good splashes of horror, but not nearly the all-engulfing experience one might expect from this director / subject pairing.

No escuchen a los arenosos, alien covenant es una obra subestimada un mito de Frankenstein, Milton y el creacionismo. David perfeccionó los xenomorfos mas no los creó, grave error que muchos interpretan.

I wish alien convenant was more like Prometheus. I know for a fact that Ridley Scott fell into the criticism of Prometheus and went over the top with Covenant, but either way I’m still happy with what I saw. Great movie

more entertaining than PROMETHEUS but way more dumb why put Xenomorphs in a film that obviously doesn't require them if this was only about the two Fassbenders blowing and fingering their flutes I would like this a lot more COVENANT is well paced (the first hour flew by) and pretty to look at, I'll give 'em that

Probably my least favorite film of the franchise. They let Scott get too self indulgent with the android narrative and this “creation” story was just NOT needed. Too little actual alien stuff, too much Fassbender. Swing and a miss

A teen slasher flick masquerading as doom sci-fi. I enjoyed this film tremendously because of how dumb the characters are and how gloriously they ate it at every opportunity. It is enjoyably nasty in a few areas. The reveal of what happened to Shaw is very upsetting. Fassbender bends his fass in dual roles and he is effectively creepy. The ending is so brutal and nihilistic that I felt like going to church **** back birth scene is bone-crunchingly uncomfortable.Good to see Ridley Scott still having fun after all these years. Danny McBride nails his cry scene, too.

It is more of a sequel to Prometheus than a prequel to Alien, and i can see lots of people disappointed by the film because the Alien is more of a second antagonist in this film without spoiling it, and mostly those are comes from the people who never seen Prometheus, now me as an admire of Prometheus also think that Alien: Covenant is not without it's lots of flawed, if we talk about the world scale, Ridley Scott is the master of it, it looks incredible and amazing, in terms of the story while i do think it's flawed, i can accept it and i thought it was an ok enough story for me to engaged with it, to follow it, to get interest with it, and i also think the performances was great, what lacks is the huge skin crawling feeling that i miss from Alien: Covenant specifically the last climax battle sequence, it's intense and bloody but i needed more of it, many people are questioning the characters logic in Prometheus, i thought Alien: Covenant have more visually obvious moments of logic questioning, and i did also ask myself about it, and so those are the flawed of Alien: Covenant, again overall i don't think it's in any kind a bad movie, i like the performances, i like the world, and i was engaged and interested enough for the story for me to enjoyed throughout, lots of questioning moments and still some story flawed was not as incredibly exciting as the previous film or of course the original Alien, Covenant was still a passable addition to the Alien franchise, at least it's not terrible in my opinion.

did you watch Dumb and Dumber with Jim Carrey? if you did not - don`t worry - Ridley Scott filmed Dumb and Dumber in Space, just watch that! The movie is great! the only flaw is that it`s advertising and promotion was mucked up - they did ads for some Alien movie, some Sci-Fi space horror... but don`t worry! that was genuine mistake - Covenant 2017 got nothing to do with Aliens... or Sci-Fi... or horror... or anything that makes sense... So grab your kids, popcorn and enjoy this comedy by Ridley Scott!

Alien: Covenant is a mix of classic Alien elements and Prometheus-style dialogue and pretentiousness. The film features the return of classic Alien monsters such as the bursters, chest bursters, face huggers, Xenomorphs, and Neomorphs, as well as familiar claustrophobic settings. Set 10 years after the events of Prometheus, the film follows the crew of the USCSS Covenant as they head towards a paradise planet, but a catastrophe causes them to deviate to a new planet where they encounter the monstrous Neomorphs and the return of the Xenomorph. The film boasts stunning visuals and cinematography, intense action and gore, and a strong cast, but suffers from heavy and overly technical dialogue, a slow pacing in the first act, and predictable plot twists.

A very unsatisfying movie with an exciting beginning that quickly becomes uninteresting and a predictable, corny, and depressing climax.

I like how gory 'Alien: Covenant' is, though apart from that there isn't much to shout about. It's good, but that's it. I'd say it's one of the weaker cast lists of the franchise, not that I have anything against the performances here but I wasn't blown away or overly interested in anyone in this 2017 production. Michael Fassbender is the obvious standout from an acting viewpoint, though I don't really dig his character all that much to be honest. The rest are a bit forgettable. You can tell it's well made and it does look the part, with it being worth the watch to complete the franchise and all that. Of the sixth films, though, it'd be in my personal bottom two (*excl. short films) - in fairness, that isn't as bad as it sounds, it's just the series has seen better.

This is probably my fourth favourite Alien movie after the original trilogy. The tone matches Alien (1979) closer than Prometheus (2012) but there is too much existential dribble and some really pretentious moments. It looked and sounded stunning, possibly the best sound design and music I’ve even heard. My biggest complaint was that the alien often looked goofy, especially in the first half of the film. Also, what happened to having men in suits? Look so much scarier, the CGI aliens are not convincing. The scary intense moments are cool and I like that they tried to explain the space jockey and the alien origins but it’s not as entertaining as it should have been. I could be wrong but at the end of Prometheus we saw a ‘fully’ evolved Alien human hybrid but in this film (set ten years later) they say that this is it’s first appearance (I don’t want to explain this failure in logic fully as it would contain spoliers). Final gripe, what happened to Alien films reaching a satisfying conclusion rather than leaving it open to endless sequels? Very enjoyable film let down by too much CGI and some moments that could have been shorter.

Oh dear...what a HUGE disappointment! Alien is one of my all time favourite movies, so i was kinda hyped when i heard Ridley Scott is coming back. This is one if not the worst Alien film ever. The fact it was directed by Ridley himself somehow even makes it even worse. How could he do that? The visuals are nice. Actors are awful, **** guessed it..Michael Fassbender. Well, unfortunately this does not help the movie either as Davids character completely destroyed the Alien lore for me. I always thought the Xenomorph is this mysterious, deadly creature from space. I guess it's not. Thanks Ridley.

Really enjoyed it. Far better than Prometheus but not in the original Alien's league. Katherine Waterstone is great in this. Well written and directed, great set design and cinematography. Thankfully James Franco is only in it for a few minutes.

Not a good movie, but the worst Alien movie. Fassbender and some faceless redshirts on a hostile planet, thats the story. prometheus was promising, but got wasted after that. please, mr scott, retire.

Not Scary, not interesting, not good. Alien Covenant brings nothing new to the franchise without any of the charm of the predecessors it replicates. The characters are stupid, their personalities are bland, and you are exclusively punished for getting attached to them. Not to mention the way this film butchers Prometheus' ending. The entire alien franchise would be better off without this one. Don't waste your time with it.

What did I just watch? Pure and utter trash. I had to do everything I could not to turn it off when the androids started kissing. This film is a mess and an offence to the Alien series. There is very little to redeem it, bar the alien FX being quite good.

Well ... This just shouldn't have happened. May it all end with Alien: Resurrection. Intruder: Covenant not only does not reach the previous parts, but also lags far behind. Atmosphere. She is almost gone and unfortunately that is the biggest problem here. Without a proper atmosphere, Alien is not the real Alien as it should be, which is why this film loses so much. It's just that the Alien is here to be seen during the day. The right emzák must not be very visible. He should be hidden in the dark and lurk for you and jump out unexpectedly. That's exactly what made the previous films so great, and most importantly, we miss Ripley, without whom it just isn't it. In addition to all this, there is one predictable thing that I will not spoiler. In short, this is not exactly a bad film, but it is NOT THE Alien we loved so much.

A fine enough sequel to Prometheus.
Ridley Scott is at his best when working within the sci-fi genre and he has made a suspenseful, creppy thriller here.

I personally liked it more than Prometheus. A blood chilling, suspenseful, intelligent, fast paced alien movie with brilliant plot and high violence. This is more of an alien movie than Prometheus since there was barely any xenomorph shown in Prometheus
