A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge

As stomach-turning as might be expected, but it has a lot going for it: clever special effects, a good leading performance and a villain so chatty he practically makes this a human-interest story.

The plotline has more holes than a tea bag, and is essentially no more than an excuse for a series of well executed special effects. Nevertheless, the film hangs reasonably well together, not least because of good performances from all concerned.

Beneath its verbose, title, Jack Sholder's follow-up to Wes Craven's 1984 hit is a well-made though familiar reworking of demonic horror material.

A worthy successor to the original movie, NIGHTMARE PART 2 is surprisingly optimistic and moral. The power of love and kindness wins out over evil and violence--something not often seen in modern horror films.

This hastily-produced sequel ignores the dreamstalking premise that had made A Nightmare on Elm Street successful and reverts to the overfamiliar possession story.

Greetings from Lithuania. "A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge" (1985) is a sequel to a far superior "Nightmare on Elm Street". This sequel despite its many shortcomings was kinda fun and mostly entertaining film for me. I do like practical effects, make up is incredible, acting was OK. Screenplay tried to be different from a first film - gone are the dream sequence (mostly) and trey tried to do a bit different take. At its very short 1 h 22 min run time this film wasn't boring and had good time for most part. The ending while interesting doesn't live up to the first part by far.Overall, second film isn't bad by any means, and I like most of it. But it is just to weird and script while different from first film isn't that good either. Still, a fun, bloody and goory film.

I think there was a lot of great thought put into this film, but I don't think it was nearly as good as the first film. I liked the dark moments of the film, and I liked the main protagonist which was Jesse. The film felt like it was rushed, even though there was a great idea behind the movie. I don't think this movie is bad, I just think that it wasn't executed properly and maybe that is because it was released one year after the original. When you compare this film to the other ones in the franchise, it did not live up to the expectations of the viewers.

Ive recovered from a huge laughing fit just long enough to ponder why no one talks about this movie. Its insanely bad on a level next to troll 2 or the room. Simply terrible from start to finish but jeez what a laugh, so thanks for that.
