I really didn't like the look of it, really quite ugly. The first film looked gritty, the second filmic and this one ugly, so smeary and inconsistent. The editing gave me whiplash, it's sometimes painful to watch. Randomly cutting to archival content was so pretentious but thankfully they gave up on it after the first act. The gore is good but what's with the random freeze frame quick camera pans? Ruins it. Thankfully they forgot to do it as much in the second half. The CGI doesn't match the rest of the film. The night scenes looked bizarre. The story and characters are relatively interesting, shame it felt ripped off from The Last of Us (2013) and its sequel/series. So much happened when they went to the mainland, why would they even risk it? I found so much of the story contrived and convenient, nothing happens for 28 years then everything happens at once. Navy boats sink, people go to the mainland for the first time, a house collapses randomly, gas ignites, etc. The explosion was really cool, shame it had weird music ruining it. How did that pile of skulls not fall over when it was windy? I didn't like the final act. Overall some great moments couldn't save the pretentious lack of entertainment.

Seriously wth even was this?? I was totally with it for being a zombie film until a baby popped out. The film then seems to let AI take the wheel with no hesitation. Definitely won't be watch "Bone Temple" after this nonsense

The quality of 28 Years Later is exactly as you'd expect from such a miserable cash grab.

After appaling intro scene where you see teenage kids have some kind of a knife fight to the death i checked out and played something on my phone, then a scene after you see a guy being beheaded with bare arms, and this is when i switchdd it off. Im giving it 2 coz i feel generous.

i know you are in there lemon. i havent sen this moevie. you do moovie reciew and you should do can i bett the dark soul with liek croswbow only. ho hum.

Just a below average movie. Watching those naked zombie horde was gross. Didn't enjoyed it much. Avoid it.

A phenomenal redirection of the series that manages to scale back the story to a place where Boyle and Garland can do what they do best on a more grounded level. I only wish they had given more of an explanation as to the catalysts of the different mutations of the infection.

Well, the story feels inconsistent like it was sewn from 5 different stories together, the infected now act not like they are driven towards the humans, but more like they are acting stupid, it's also illogical in a dumb way. That "WTF" moment outright insults the audience’s intelligence, the whole movie feels pointless...

28 Years Later is far from being a good horror film. In my opinion, it's miles away from being a good film at all. The story it tells isn't a story at all. It's meaningless and devoid of any logic. The zombies, as hyperactive, flailing monsters, are neither scary, impressive, nor well-developed and would be better suited to a genuine satire. The actors are all unconvincing, which is likely due to the script and the lack of character development. Even Ralph Fiennes seems out of place in this film. Unfortunately, I can't find anything positive to say about it. The self-indulgent direction reaches its sadly ludicrous climax in the final fight scene with the zombies. Not for me.

Came in with fairly high expectations, but this easily surpassed them. I was on the edge of my seat for most of the runtime, and it further cements this franchise as the best zombie/undead series out there. The biggest surprise, though, was the depth and emotional weight. Very excited for The Bone Temple.

The actors did their best with a horrible script. There is no logical explanations as to why there are fat “zombies”; and that is just one issue. The urgency and horror from the original movies are completely lacking.

28 Years Later is a deeply frustrating continuation that misunderstands both its own franchise and the reasons it ever mattered. Where 28 Days Later was grounded, terrifying, and emotionally focused, this film feels inconsistent, unfocused, and desperate to shock rather than say anything meaningful. The plot is a confused mess, jumping between half-formed ideas about rebuilding society, viral mutation, and generational trauma without committing to any of them. Story threads are introduced and dropped at random, character motivations are thin or incoherent, and the film ultimately feels pointless, as if it exists purely to keep the franchise alive rather than to tell a necessary story. Worse, the film actively contradicts the earlier films. The Rage virus no longer behaves in a consistent or believable way, culminating in a nonsensical zombie pregnancy subplot that adds nothing beyond cheap provocation. Instead of expanding how we perceive the virus, moments like this only highlight how little thought has gone into maintaining any internal logic or consistency with the franchise. The ending is particularly insulting; a sudden, silly cliffhanger that cuts the film off mid-thought, clearly designed to bait a sequel rather than provide any form of resolution. It’s hard to feel anticipation when the story itself hasn’t earned any emotional investment in any of the characters. Add to this frequent nudity that feels entirely gratuitous. Lacking narrative or thematic purpose, the result is a film that mistakes edginess for depth. 28 Years Later doesn’t disturb, challenge, or linger in the mind the way its predecessors did, it simply frustrates. In the end, this isn’t a bold evolution of the series, it’s a hollow revival that forgets what made 28 Days Later iconic.

Yawn. Great cinematography and acting, but the plot was just bland. I don't understand how this was the best story they could come up with after all these years. Super disappointing.

Well, i was coming with a 6 and a couple of complaints about the movie, notably the political stand in favor of euthanasia and the unlikeliness of UK being abandoned/blockaded for 28years, but i see horror fans have already trashed it. I shouldve seen that coming.. So Danny Boyle always made auteur movies, this one also is. 28 days later wasnt a zombie movie at all. I wonder even if he ever saw Romero's movies.. Then again, 28 days later did show a lot of brands, so some people saw the $$$ potential and put some coal in the machine. This one has zero product placement ^^ So the movie deconstructs a few tribal behaviours, on a coming of age main story. The post apocalyptic background is barely felt. Danny Boyle did zero fan service there. Which strangely i respect. Let's see the next one

Wow, after 30 mins of WTF is this, i had to go read some reviews. this movie is an absolute JOKE. Couldn't watch the rest

28 Days Later had virtually no budget and has aged unbelievably well. This becomes especially clear when you compare it to the filmed waste of time that is 28 Years Later. An unbelievably bad story, absolutely terrible character writing. Once again, a completely failed attempt to “humanize” zombies—similar to what The Rings of Power tried to do with the Orcs. Visually, the film has a few decent scenes to offer, but they are dragged straight back into the dirt by nonsense like the “kill-shot camera shift.”This film is a final disgrace.

I’m not sure where all the positive reviews are coming from? I thought this was incredibly boring!

This film is extremely disappointing. It has nothing to do with the previous two chapters: the atmosphere, tension and narrative identity are completely **** plot is absurd and very poorly handled, and overall the result is truly bad. A perfect example of how to ruin a franchise that had great potential. Terrible.

Greetings from Lithuania. I wasn't expecting anything from "28 Years Later" (2025) as first two films were made so many years ago and there are so many zombie / post apocalyptic movies since that one should be really original to be noticed these days. And "28 Years Later" is. I liked this film more then i thought i will because it is some well unpredictable, brutal, bloody but at the same time weirdly beautiful. One could argue that this film is uneven but that it the point here i think - in the insane world depicted in here there should be nothing usual. The performances here were really strong from all great cast, but it is Alfie Williams as Spike who was great here - he is literally the main character here and did an amazing job. Music, directing, writing were all good as they created this bizarre and hardly forgettable movie. Overall, i did enjoyed quite a lot of this film. I liked the story, setting, wonderful locations, superb acting and unpredictability. It might not be everyone's cup of tea but it surely stands out in a overcrowded market of zombie movies.

Nothing to do with the first 2, incredibly stupid scenarios throughout movie(Zombie birthing class). Less like a zombie movie more like a "Cannibal Holocaust" Aryan Ninjas at the end ?!?!?! Take out the intro and you wouldnt know it was a zombie movie. Credit where credit is due Cinematography was beautifully done and Fiennes was great in his 15 minutes.

I enjoyed the film just fine. It is NOT what I really wanted, however I do not dislike it. I am not optimistic with the Bone temple sequel BUT I think it is genius to release it so quickly in Jan. However the Director Nia makes me VERY unconfident. Ultimately my final score depends on how the bone temple goes. This is just the first act in this story. ME being a super fan of the 28 franchise I rate it 8. The high points of the film are GREAT. It is a slow burn and it is a story building entry. SO it will come down to the films in the future that it is building up for. If act 2 fails this movie is a 610 tops. The father and son are the best part of it. The mother is annoying AF but is needed for plot. Lastly the single best part of the film is the moon light chase scene. That happens about 1/2 into the film and it really is all down after that epic peak. I am 36 now in 2025 and I do not understand why modern films and shows LOVE showing SO MUCH Weiner. Like they paid millions for CG artists to animate a HUGE DONG! Like WHY? Why not just use the dudes dong why CG it. I have a feeling as to why and I sadly believe that same reason is why the next film will fail and sully this film as well :(

Podría haber sido algo medio pasable hace años con el boom de las películas experimentales tipo la bruja Blair. En 2025, y siendo el legado del películón que es 28 días después. Y dirigida por un director con mucho nombre ya como Danny Boile, es un truño curioso. Y digo curioso porque no pasa más allá de la curiosidad. Algunas escenas sueltas son buenas, incluso alguna muy buena porque tiene muy buenos actores. Pero está todo amasado entre un montón de mediocridad y sinsentidos. Ya no hay ni zombies. Una especie de trogloditas en los que no han gastando ni en maquillaje. Hago memoria mientras voy escribiendo y pienso, ya para terminar: bastante más truño que curiosa.

Was torn between a 6 or 7. It is indeed quite well directed, and the performances are good, etc - but the longer the film went on, the more convoluted it became. Especially with that scene on the train... There was so much potential here, and it ended up sort of flattening itself. I actually appreciated the hallucinatory elements.

I'm struggling to finish this **** does not feel like 28 Days Later at all. The entire vibe is off. The first 2 had this raw chaotic energy to the infected that was very scary, similar to the infected in the first 2 Rec movies, but just like that series, they completelychanged how they are shot,and staged so there is not the tension or feeling of this brutal onslaught, the infected are much slower and less aggressive and just the tempo,it completelylost the nail biting feeling where everything was happening so fast that the survivors were overwhelmed in seconds. The dialogue as well, it feels like a play somehow, like not natural, where the first 2 had a much more immersive vibe IMO. The music choices do not match either. I don't understand how this is meant to be a continuation, the entire atmosphere from writing, staging, lighting, sound, it's all completely different and in ways that are far less effective than in the last 2 movies.

Very disappointing.there are certainly some great moments and the idea that the virus cannot be passed down to children from their parents is a good idea but mostly this film falls flat. Also, there’s a massive plot hole, how did the woman stay pregnant for nearly 30 years? The infected may not be dead but the baby wasn’t born when the mother turned into a zombie so it should have died in the womb a long time ago. There’s a lot of nothing in this film however, like I’ve said, there are some good parts and heart warming moments. Also, why skip to 28 years? What about 28 months later? Overall it’s just okay.

This is by far one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I came to watch a horror movie! First 30 mins of the movie was great but after that, it goes downhill. You'll be like "WTF" from that one on and especially at the end.

This sequel is a departure from the first two films. It's less of a terrifying zombie story and more of a family melodrama. A few new concepts are introduced, but without sufficient time devoted to any of them to fully flesh them out. The ending also broadcasts their intention to create another film.

The movie has beautiful, smooth scenes, exciting chase scenes, beautiful camera angles, like watching a documentary. Personally, I quite like this movie.

Terrible. I was incredibly disappointed as I really enjoyed the previous movies in the franchise.

If you liked the original, then you will like this one. The music, the graphics, it was done so well and true to the original. It definitely had some tense moments. There were some things that didn't make sense, and it wasn't perfect, but still a good movie and definitely worth the watch.

As someone who's seen all three films, I can honestly say this is the best of the trilogy. It somehow manages to feel fresh while still honoring everything that came before. The atmosphere? Insane. The tension? Constant. But what surprised me most was how much fun it was.There's humor when you least expect it, but it never takes away from the brutal, chaotic world they've built. The main character's journey really hit me - watching them grow, confront fear, and show love (especially for their parents) added so much emotional depth I didn't expect from a zombie **** delivers on action, suspense, and emotion all at once. Easily one of the greatest zombie films I've ever seen. It just gives you everything.Seriously - don't miss this one.

The visuals, style, camera work and great sound work is wasted on a infuriatingly banal story with zero emotional weight. Its trying to take itself way too seriously yet it ends like a bad Zombieland skit. Bizarre. But not in a good way.

It may be me for having gone into 28 Years Later with incredibly high expectations based on how much I love 28 Days Later, and even thoroughly enjoy 28 Weeks Later, but I left the theatres feeling lacking. Don't get me wrong, the zombies in this film were some of the finest and most horrifying to date, and the base premise of the story is incredibly intriguing. I was surprised by how somber some of the film was, and the very beginning/ending parts are literally placed in this film to require you to see the sequel they are working on. I am still very interested and hoping they groundwork they are laying pays off in the long run with the return of this franchise.

28 Years Later continues the small-scale storytelling of its predecessors, yet once again suffers from the recurring weakness of a faltering third act. While Danny Boyle’s ambition for the franchise is evident, the series—neither fully entertaining nor distinctly artful—still leaves its long-term value in question.

Anyone who hates this movie is allergic to fun. The cinematography was experimental and entertaining, and the audio was awesome in building tension. This movie is truly amazing horror.

My first "zombie film" was 28 Days Later back in 2011, almost a decade after its initial release date. Hearing that we got the Danny/Alex duo back already set me up for quite the cinematic experience. This movie is different and in a great way. The writing is well paced and dare I say, strange at times sure, but it all makes it way back in due time. The characters are believable and relatable characters that were thoughtfully crafted and well cast, and the special effects team knocked it out of the park. Honestly, the opening sequence is hands down one of my favorite openers for a "zombie" movie to date. Danny and Alex and company knocked it out of the park. If you loved the first 2 films, definitely give this one a shot.

It started off good then the story fell off. Why tf did they make the infected naked? It makes no sense the people that get infected don't all of a sudden just take off all their cloths. Seems like woke propaganda.
