This game is the definition of lazy, which is something that has become a bit of a habit with Nintendo in recent years. Mario kart world is another example of that. They couldn’t be bothered to make a new map so they just copy and pasted caves to put under the original map and filled it with repetitive enemies and tasks. It’s fun for a little bit but gets boring quite quickly.

I mean, I can't rate the game low because it's the same 2 great games they were when they were released. However, like pretty much every Nintendo game these days, is just nostalgia pandering. It seems that all we get these days in the Mario department is ports. Instead of being lazy and constantly re-releasing old games, make new ones, like idk, a new 3D Mario? Because we haven't had a new 3D Mario game for 9 years at this point, and it is unacceptable. Get a grip, Nintendo, before your greed catches up to you. It says the games have been graphically enhanced, but that's a lie, because they look no different from their Wii counterparts.

To say that Sonic Racing Crossworlds is phenomenal would be a huge understatement because this game is amazing. In fact, this game makes Mario Kart World look like an embarrassment and quite literally embarrasses Mario Kart World. The soundtrack may be a bit hit or miss but everything else in this game is perfect. There’s a good skill ceiling which urges hours of replayability. Admittedly, the switch version is ugly times. There’s loads of unlockables and jukebox of which allows us to change the music in the tracks akin to what could be done in sonic generations and Frontiers. There’s a great cast of characters and more to come in the near future. Certainly better than the pathetic cast we got In team sonic racing. (Forgot that game even existed until now).Every track in this game is great and well polished. The new crossworld mechanic is awesome and puts the intermission tracks in Mario kart world to shame. It’s a shame that we didn’t get a track from sonic 06 and black knight, but it’s not a big deal. There’s literally not a single bad track in this game! There gadget system is unique and helps make every race feel fresh and different. There are so many gadgets I’ve lost count. The car customisation is a nice touch with loads of options for you to make your machine to your **** character rival interactions are interesting and great and there’s a lot of lore hidden in them. There’s game may have a high price tag but it is 100% worth it. And if you own a switch or switch 2, you can buy the game new at 48-£52. Nintendo should take a leaf out of Segas book and listen to their fans instead of copying mechanics from sonic games like they did in Mario kart world and pushing out mediocrity. For the first time for in years, a kart racer has a good, functional online mode however the item balance could be better.I will say the flying controls could be better but they aren’t bad per say. If you haven’t played this game yet, play it!!!! It’s a must play and should 100% win game of the year the game awards in December.Even on switch 1 this game looks amazing, though ofc not as good as it looks on the ps5. Although Markey Street, graphically, looks really dull and ugly for someone reason. Also the DLC is great but bizarre. I mean SpongeBob and Minecraft in a sonic game…WHAT?!!! Sonic racing is back baby!!

why Did they delay this for over A year? It looks no different than it did when it was revealed last year. Regardless this game is fun. Yes it’s obviously based off of fall guys but honestly, it’s bette than fall guys. It certainly controls better. The soundtrack here is really good, very upbeat and catchy. Unfortunately, this game has the same problem all phone games have: it’s repetitive and micro transactions. Thankfully the micro transactions don’t have an impact on the game as it’s not pay to win. The characters are a bit slow which can be a put off. Also, no ads! Finally a phone game that is actually playable.

This game is timeless and bright so much to the series that at the time, seriously needed some innovation. The new mission mode, while not anything to write home about, is fantastic. The character roster is decent and the nitro tracks are pretty great. The retro tracks however… are mostly underwhelming tho they do somehow manage to be fun. This game has the best battle mode in the entire series. Tho I will never forgive this game for destroying baby park.

Almost everything about this game is perfect. The only things that bring this game down is it’s mediocre sonic movie 3 DLC and the fact that you can’t skip the transition cutscenes that play when you enter the Doom Zone. The sonic generations portion remains the same gameplay wise but the story rewrite was very unnecessary and has added some plot holes to the story. Choa have been added into the each stage for you to explore and find which is definitely a welcome bonus and it’s nice to have the old casino night dlc there as well even though most probably won’t play it. It would have been nice to have the 3DS stages here as well but it’s not a biggy. The Shadow generations campaign is phenomenal. I love how they made shadows white space open world and scattered collectibles around so that we can explore the area. The level design is mostly perfect tho the first doom zone stage is pretty mid. The levels they picked (besides rail canyon act 1 and chaos island act 2) were great and the story is amazing and one of the best in the series. We get to see a side to shadow that we never knew he had and it was great to see Maria and Gerald Ribotnik finally make an in game appearance. Shadows controls are admittedly, a little stiff and shadow is a bit slow, but it doesn’t affect the experience too much. The bosses are all great in shadow gens, and to see Mephalis again is nothing short of awesome. Overall this is a great package and 100% worth the price tag.

Mario Kart World

User ScoreTARDISreviews

Mario kart world is okay, however it has some major issues. For example the intermission tracks between the actual race tracks are mainly boring straight aways with easy to avoid obstacles. The controls are no where near the polish of Mario kart 8 deluxe. Free roam is cool and has some fun missions, however there’s very little to do outside of those missions and it becomes boring quickly and there’s very little direction. You are bound to end up in the same place a few times. The new tracks are great besides Dks space port, koopa troopa beach and desert hill (or rather, desert no-hills as they took the hills out for some reason) those ones ****. The character selection is good however there are some must haves such as funky king, dry bowser, diddy kong, petty piranha and kamek missing which makes no sense. They should be added in as dlc in the future. Nintendo were quite lazy with this one and just put in useless npc characters. They removed kart customisation and 200cc for some stupid reason and they have stolen so many ideas from sonic and all stars racing transformed. Shameful! The time balancing in this game is atrocious and too unforgiving. Battle mode **** as per usual. How did we go from having 5 battle modes in 8 deluxe to only having 2 in this game? The knockout tour is great fun though and is probably the best mode in the game. However there are only 8 cups and once you have completed them there’s no reason to go back to them. Nintendo haven’t learned their lesson about the battle tracks. No one liked the original Mario kart 8 battle tracks because they weren’t battle tracks, they were just 8 normal tracks taken from the Grand Prix. Thankfully they changed that in 8 deluxe, but have used normal tracks in World for some stupid reason. There are 2 actual battle tracks and they are the only ones I’ll play. But I have no incentive to play battle mode bc it’s so bad and boring. The fact that most of the characters have multiple skins is cool and that should become a mainstay. The soundtrack is amazing, one of the best in the series. This game probably has the worst online in the series. It is rare that you get to play a proper 3 lap track and so are forced to play the stupid intermissions. The open world is mostly empty and boring. There are challenges but it doesn’t tell you how many there are and what ones you’ve completed nor does it give you any direction to where the challenges are located on the map. Also updates are supposed to make a game better, but every update this game has had since launch has only made it worse. Nintendo obviously doesn’t care about this game otherwise it would have died within less than a month after release. Unfortunately, while fun overall, Mario kart world is very disappointing and is not worth £75. Mario kart 8 deluxe remains superior. Nintendo should go back to what made Mario kart so great for the next entry and ditch this new formula. 5.5/10. If Nintendo wants to make a good Mario kart they need to do 2 things. 1, take out all the bs and bring back kart customisation and 200cc and 2, put in more than the bare minimum amount of effort when making the game.

Sonic superstars is a mixed bag. The level design is mostly good (except golden capital, that zone ****) and all the characters control very well. However, the bosses are evil. They are long, boring and tedious and bring this game down a lot. The emerald powers are mostly useless besides the fireball one and the amount of acts per zone is inconsistent. Some have 2 acts whereas some have only 1. Makes no sense. Overall it’s a decent fun time but the bosses deter me from wanting to play the game again. Once you have completed the game, don’t restart if you value your sanity. Just do time trials bc they cut out the bosses. Trip’s (new character) story is really good though. 6.5/10. I hope sonic team try again in the future and make the bosses more like the original classic sonic games.

Still to this day, this is the best sonic ever made. The world building is great, the human character are well designed and tolerable, great character development, both gameplay styles are a ton of fun and the soundtrack is amazing. The battle music is very annoying though as it plays every time you encounter an enemy so you barely get to hear the music in stages because of it. The lack of drop shadow for the werehog has lead to many unfair deaths as well.
