21 Bridges

There’s a pulpy, comic-book noir to this highly enjoyable thriller, whose rules and parameters are clear.

It’s not a bad setup, and Bridges would be a better movie, easily, if it had let a little more nuance creep into its script. Instead, it lays the task squarely on Boseman’s shoulders — having him fill in all those broad strokes with his own fine lines, and spraying bullets and mayhem across the rest.

21 Bridges will win no prizes for originality or twists. (It won’t win any prizes for anything, to be honest.) But it’s made well enough. Brothers Joe and Anthony Russo (“Avengers: Endgame”) are the producers, and Irish director Brian Kirk (“Games of Thrones”) knows how to keep an old jalopy like this well-oiled to get us across the finish line.

But let’s be fair: If this were the first cop movie ever made, we’d be grateful for it. It holds interest. It’s never quite boring. And there are worse things you can do with your time than watch Boseman, Miller and Simmons for an hour and a half. Just know that 21 Bridges is the kind of movie you’ll forget five minutes after seeing it.

There’s enough action to keep things moving along, but the drama is ho-hum, juiced up with a turgid soundtrack and sirens howling in the night. It’s all just so average.

The movie is a awesome crime thriller with great acting, directing, and music. The pacing of the movie is great, it never slows down and the action is great. I really enjoyed it.

Should watch while in the mood of normal. A normal action movie so noting different from others movies. But it not too bad.

21 Bridges conta com uma dinâmica muito bem definida, subvertendo a trama e entregando boas cenas de ação. Mesmo que previsível em alguns momentos, o diretor sabe muito bem como dosar os acontecimentos. O protagonista segue um arquétipo ok, mas graças ao ator temos algo envolvente. Há demasiado dialogo expositivo, mas isso não veio a atrapalhar minha experiência, visto que eu só queria algo pra me entreter no momento. E o tempo passou tão rápido que posso dizer que estou satisfeito. Chadwick Boseman estava excelente. Não era preciso desenvolver tanto seu personagem, pois sua postura e carisma já era o suficiente pra nos conectar. É uma pena que ele tenha ido tão cedo, e que eu só tenha percebido o quão importante ele era agora. R.I.P. Chadwick Boseman!
