We Love Katamari was brilliant on the PS2, and it’s still brilliant now. If you’ve not played Katamari Damacy before, rectify that right now.

This game is great. I never played the Katamari games growing up and getting around to it now made me firmly believe older games are, in fact, better

really unique game controls feel weird at first but once you get used to them they actually make sense only unfun is 25+ minute levels which were too long in my opinion

The game is pretty empty and the story was extremelyyyy horrible. I heard there was different game modes but I didnt get to them as I didnt play long enough. But what I played was the campagin and u have a limited amount of time on different small maps. This is completely different to how they advertised the game, which was basically Argio or any fun itch game where you become infinitely bigger. This was what I thought the game would be, and would be really fun. But it was not. There are also limited time each level so it resets your size every **** the worst part of this game? It is the freaking controls!!! You cant even look with the mouse. The controls were so god horrible and they were also rough and not remotely smooth. The movement felt very clunky. Its sad a simple 2d games on itch with same concept are infintely times better than what was served here.

We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie is as close to a perfect remaster as I could’ve asked for. There was simply no way to play this game outside the original hardware, and I am infinitely grateful to have been blessed with this remaster. I’ve shown so many friends this series thanks to this release, and I think that’s incredibly in the spirit of the game as a whole. We should all be grateful games like Katamari exist at all, and I hope a new audience discovers the unbridled joy of the series thanks to these remasters.

We Love Katamari Reroll+ Royal Reverie is a lovingly created remaster of an often overlooked sequel that is a stone-cold classic in its own right. By dialling the melodrama and outlandishness the series is known for up to 11, adding more variety to the gameplay, and with it looking and sounding better than ever. it’s easy to say We Love Katamari. Because we do. A lot.

Really, the minimum expectation for me when it comes to remakes is to make a good game better than it used to be. I feel confident in saying that We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royal Reverie does enough to fulfill that requirement, and is priced in a way that makes it a no-brainer to pick up. It’s the best version of this game to date, and it gives me hope that seeing these being brought to modern platforms may be the spark that gives us brand-new titles. But for now, I’m fine with getting a well-crafted remake of a damned fine game with the kind of quality-of-life updates and additional content that help the low barrier of entry go down even easier than a straight port ever could. Go roll up some stars, man. You’ll enjoy it.

We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie is the best version of what is generally considered the best Katamari title. That being said, if you own the original and are looking to buy it just for the Royal Reverie content, its extremely short runtime makes it hard to recommend for that alone. However, for anyone who hasn’t played this weird and wonderful game (or series) it’s a definite recommendation – and a game with an extremely fitting name.

We Love Katamari Reroll+ Royal Reverie is still such a wacky and oddly fun title, as long as we like this kind of genre. As a sequel it improves some aspects of the gameplay, but very short in terms of content. We are going to be quite entertained up to a certain point and that is the only relevant thing.

This game is good for those of us who played it back in the day to remember this great gem, but it doesn't really offer anything new. Yes, you have fun, and it's a nice reminder of the past, but I don't think it will attract new players, nor do I think it's a convincing move for the franchise going forward. I breezed through it once, and I'm glad I didn't pay the €40 it cost, instead playing it on a subscription game plan.
