WarioWare Gold

WarioWare Gold is a wonderful addition to the 3DS library at such a late point in the system’s life cycle. Its presentation is largely brilliant, with bright, bold, punchy animations and a seemingly endless variety of visual styles within the microgames themselves. Although some of the magic of the classic microgames is lost thanks to the needless graphical facelifts they’ve been given, overall the vast amounts of chaos and hilarity occurring on-screen is gorgeous. With a litany of modes and content to unlock, veteran and rookie players alike will be occupied for hours trying to see everything that the title has to offer.

WarioWare Gold is an off-the-wall title bursting with content and creativity. The 300+ microgames and myriad side modes will keep you coming back to this game time and time again, even with its lacking multiplayer and padded unlockables. WarioWare Gold is easily the best game Nintendo has released in 2018 so far, and a great addition to any 3DS owner’s library.

If you’re a fan of the series then this is another solid entry. Will it be your favorite? That probably depends on the person, but there’s definitely something here for everyone who has liked any version up to WarioWare Gold. If you missed the tilt controls or wish we had another stylus version, this is where you can enjoy an encore of series past with the largest collection of migrogames yet! Me personally, I’m not complaining about WarioWare being back in our lives.

While I wish WarioWare Gold had more new than old, it’s definitely the ultimate package of microgames that will give any fan of WarioWare something to truly enjoy.

WarioWare has always been a fantastic oddity in Nintendo’s library and to gather much of what has made the franchise such a joy into one large collection is great. For anyone new to WarioWare, this is a great place to start. For veterans, it has more than enough new content to make playing it worthwhile, plus you get to have a greatest hits compilation of the best microgames.

No amount of additional content could sweeten the deal here, though, as it’s simply the purposefully crude WarioWare format that’s to blame for it feeling out of its price depth. WarioWare Gold is the gold standard of WarioWare games, but it commands too high a price for what’s on offer.

WarioWare Gold slightly redeems itself only after you've suffered through the feeble punchlines of the Story mode and have unlocked Challenge mode.

The game is really addicting and the voice acting is superb! It’s Wario after all.

A fun main campaign, albeit with forced microphone games that they clearly ran out of ideas with. Index mode is fun when you’re playing the fun games, challenge mode is a good mix up, the missions are ok considering the premise of the game. The arcade is pretty cool, but some of the categories can be pretty bogus (studio mode anyone?). Also, why was this JUST a 3DS game in 2018? The switch was already out, and there was even a micro game where you slide joy-cons onto a switch. You will likely end up crushing the main campaign in the first 48 hours, and then occasionally pull it out on a car ride. If you’ve already played the previous games, then you should probably read a few more reviews before deciding on whether or not you should pick it up. If you haven’t, this is a good game for you.

This game kinda disappointed me, i mean sure, it has everything a normal wario ware game has but what makes this game bad is that it's very easy and isn't much of a challenge and it isn't as fun compared to other wario ware games, not to mention, the game can be beaten in just 1 hour or less, however, some of it's good qualities is that it makes flashbacks to previous wario ware games and remasters the old games and has catchy music but that doesn't stop it from being a bad game

What a game. I spent hours upon hours playing this game and it has been a blast. My personal favorite games are the touch-based ones because I like using the touch screen. Extremely hot take here, but I think we are getting a port of this game to the switch rather than a whole new game. Dub it, "Warioware Gold Deluxe". Overall, pretty solid title and the game that introduced me to the series.
