Various Daylife
Various Daylife is held back by its mobile game nature and too many wrong choices that transform the game in a series of jobs and actions that no one would really love to do.
Various Daylife is the epitome of an experimental RPG. This is the kind of game that you’ll have a much better time with if you limit yourself to only fifteen minutes or maybe half an hour a day. Stay within that time frame, and the daily stat management, quick quest runs, and the simple class system will just about hit the spot. Play for much longer, and you’ll soon realize how relatively shallow the gameplay loop really is. We’d give this one a very light recommendation for anyone who’s obsessed with the work of Team Asano or for those who want a simple and light RPG for their Switch—if neither of those describes you, you’re not missing much by choosing to pass.
With a boring gameplay loop and a wasted combat system, Various Daylife proves that porting games from mobile to console isn't always a good idea.

I bought this bundled with Octopath Traveler 2, and tried it, but unfortunately they're not even at the same level

Various Daylife is probably one of the best rpgs I have ever played, it may seem shallow at first but evolves quickly and quickly gets rid of any of those doubts. Main gameplay revolves around doing jobs in a menu to level up stats and days pass on a calendar, certain days will be birthdays and festivals and things and you can bond with characters from your party too. There's a lot of great character interactions in this game, everyone has 5 levels of affection and 3 classes. There's lots of events and cutscenes for each character, each character is really well developed. Then there's the plot which is really good too. There's a main plot that's light and warmy for the most part about exploring the continent and then the true plot doesn't really start till after the credits roll, it's great. There's a ton of classes for the character to choose from in combat, and speaking of which the three cha system in combat is great, change chain and chance, you change an enemies status and keep building up a chain and the longer the chain the more damage happens when you initiate chance. I really really love the questing stuff in general. You have a limited bagspace so you really have to think what you're going to bring, it gets kinda hectic managing food to survive since it spoils as you walk and you also have to know how much to carry cause you don't want to take too much or too little, speaking of that the way hunger is here I haven't seen done in any other game, hunger and max hp are attached basically so as you walk your max hp drains away, it's a cool way of doing it. I think thats pretty much all I wanted to say, I just really think this game is great and recommend it. 10/10

Loading, loading, loading. For basically a text based adventure game there is so much lag between each screen that it is incredibly infuriating to play. I got the game before any reviews were out, without knowing what the gameplay was like. FYI, apparently this game is a port from mobile. Idk what the other platforms are like, but this is a bad port. Cannot recommend. Besides the lag, the actual gameplay is lackluster. Very boring. Not much to do except click the work option that gives the most experience each day.

It's a relaxing and simple game with a peaceful narrative. On the other hand, this permeates a casual delivery without much distinction, with mechanics and character construction that could be considered flat. Various Daylife is a good installment for your cell phone, but the jump to Nintendo Switch was too big for it.

Various Daylife is an RPG originally designed for mobiles with the intention of being played for short periods of time. It has well-designed battle mechanics, and despite trying to provoke a sense of routine, players with little patience for casual systems will leave it after a couple of hours.
