There are simply a huge number modes and options and game types to venture through in this game, so many that you'll likely never tire of things to try here.

Definitely the best next-generation FPS out right now.

Has consistently ambitious level design throughout, even in the PS2-exclusive maps, and the entire game benefits from it.

I've played this on both PC and PS2 and my recommendation is obviously for the PC as it is all around amazing. For now I will talk about the PS2 port as I played a bunch of it recently and it felt a bit different than what I was used to. There are many layouts for controller and I highly recommend looking for a different one as the default is AWFUL. The aim assist is a bit insane as well which is nice in a fast paced game like this. I ended up hooking up a keyboard and mouse and while yes it plays a lot better, it does not fix the bad framerate. The more people and explosions the worse it gets and nothing it worse than knowing you are aiming and shooting at an enemy but because of frame drops you just miss all your shots.Aside from that the game has some special PS2 only maps and has character portraits for the characters. I didn't know each port had their own exclusive maps and some of them were actually fun. Overall I really love this game but stick to PC, with Epic putting it on the Internet Archive for preservation means you can play it for free at anytime.

It's not going to look and run as well as it does on an Athlon 1Ghz with a GeForce 2 Ultra, but for PlayStation 2 owners, it's one of the best FPS games out there at launch.

A solid game. It doesn't make anywhere near the full use of the PS2, nor does it add a lot to the mix in order to compensate for the natural lack of ubiquitous mouse/keyboard support and Internet play.

Although not graphically as good as the PC version, UT for the PS2 still offers up the same stellar sound and enough single player action to keep you satisfied.

Visually stunning with tons of detail, an extreme amount of firepower, and beautifully violent deaths.
67
Just go buy the PC version.

Most everything about the PS2 version makes us cringe, especially since we know how much the PC version of Unreal Tournament rocks.
