Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream offers a more expanded game compared to its original JP game and the 3DS game However, despite having played 35 hours so far, it does show a lack of fun after a while. The game works perfectly for streamers and artists, but outside the laughs you get the first time around with events and characters speaking whatever you desire, it would get stale rather quickly with the same events and dialogue happening over and over. It's not a bad game, but it's not a game you could see yourself playing nonstop after the first 1-2 weeks have passed if you are not someone who enjoys making mii's and creating your own food, clothing ect

A hilarious time waster and proof that the whimsical weirdness of Nintendo has not swept away yet

This game is sooo addicting. Reminds me of when i played Animal Crossing New Horizons for the first time. So many things can happen and it keeps you looking for more

This game is great. I love it. I am attached to my Mii’s, and the amount of customization adds infinite potential for the more creative people. However, there is a lack of content feel when playing this game. It really feels like there should be more, which isn’t a normal feeling from a Nintendo game in my mind. I am hopeful that they will do seasonal updates as I feel this game needs them to survive a long time. The first game (in the USA) never left me wanting more. This game, however (only due to changes in gameplay structure), makes me want more. Like, why are there only 4 fully modeled tree types on the island? Aside from my criticism, I cannot deny that this game is amazing and very fun to play. If you are thinking about getting Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, GET IT. The game is definitely worth the price to me and will be perfect for people who, for instance, wanted to play Animal Crossing: New Horizons and couldn’t get into it. My final statement will be:
This game is amazing, I just wish there was more content.

This game has a lot of potential. Sadly, it feels half finished—there is NOT a lot of content, you can easily unlock everything and after that there’s just not much else to do. Cut scenes are repetitive and boring, miis interact in the same ways and you accumulate a bunch of wishes you can’t do anything with. To sell this game at full price is egregious.

I like it, (IDK why people are saying bad stuff about this game when its perfectly fine). It's great, and if and when they make a sequel to this I will be giving Nintendo all of my money.

I don't get what's so exciting about this game.
The game is all about creating Miis, chosing their clothes and decorating a flat island with 0.1 % of them items you get in Animal Crossing.
There's absolutly nothing else to do. No farming, no fishing, no collection, no craft, no gameplay.
If you watch some livestreams you will see that every island looks the same and that people spend 99.99% of their play time in the Mii editor.
And yes, it's fun to create Mario or Shrek but if you want something else than a Mii editor, it gets boring really fast.

Tomodachi Life is a tough game to rate. On one hand, it’s bursting with charm — the colourful visuals, playful graphic design, and huge amount of character customisation make the island feel lively from the start. The random events and quirky interactions are genuinely amusing, and the mini‑games add a nice bit of variety. But once the novelty wears off, the core loop reveals itself to be surprisingly shallow. There’s no real long‑term progression beyond creating Miis, decorating, and filling out your item catalogue. I would have preferred if the shops had started as small shacks with limited stock and gradually upgraded as the island developed. Even an energy or infrastructure system — wiring homes, balancing solar and wind production, expanding capacity — would have added a sense of growth and purpose. Instead, the game settles into a very basic social simulation, one that feels even simpler than city sims from the 90s. Nintendo’s real‑time life sims often miss this same ingredient: if you’re asking players to check in daily, there needs to be meaningful goals to work toward and events that make weeks and months feel distinct. Weather, seasonal changes, or even a few hidden Easter eggs would have gone a long way. The levelling system adds another layer of frustration. Every time a Mii levels up, you’re forced into a minutes-long mandatory process of choosing a gift, trait, or reward. They level up quickly and constantly; I almost want to stop feeding them to avoid this. It slows the pace to a crawl and turns simple interactions into chores.
As it stands, Tomodachi Life is charming, funny, and visually delightful — but it lacks the depth needed to keep that charm engaging over the long haul.

Tomodachi Life: Living the dream is a cozy game where you can create Mii characters that can interact with each other. The concept is really simple but really powerful. I've spent 30 hours with the game and it still is really fun and enjoyable. The creativity you have with this game is new and unseen. I'm having a lot of fun with the game, and that's what makes it good.

ConclusieTomodachi Life: Living the Dream is misschien niet zo strak of gepolijst als Pokémon Pokopia of Animal Crossing New Horizons, maar eerlijk?

This game is AWESOME! It hits the mark right, with great humor, and great gameplay. What makes me like this game so much is because how relationships change a lot, your Mii can be ULTRA friends, become enemies, or even become married! They ask you to change their room, or even to live someone else! (I have a house of 8!) Every day, everything becomes refreshed! New items in EVERY store! And even money from the fountain. I love this game, thank you Nintendo for making a huge improvement but still keeping it like the original!

I absolutely loved the original Tomodachi Life on the 3Ds, and was so excited that it was coming back to the switch. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been having tons of fun playing. I love how customizable they’ve made it and how the miis are much more interactive with the world and each other. My only complaint is it feels unfinished, and for the price that’s not really acceptable. There’s constant repetition of cut scenes, and the amount of content missing from the first game isn’t really made up for with the new content. There’s no concert hall, none of the silly games, and no babies. Married couples also don’t sleep in the same bed, which isn’t like a huge deal but it’s disappointing. There’s so much potential for this game, it’s just in need of a few updates.

What if Animal Crossing was good? That is Tomodachi Life. My problem with Animal Crossing is that is never really goes anywhere and gets boring FAST. There are aspects I like, but for the most part, that game series hasn't innovated in forever and just dull. Now, Tomodachi life isn't a new thing if you have played the 3DS game, but it does give you a more bigger sandbox to play with those tools. This is basically Animal Crossing for creative people. If you are not a creative person and just want a story and characters curated to you, this might not be the game for you. This game is about making your own fun. Period. Design dumb characters, stupid foods, funny t-shirts, etc., whatever you want to do. You also have say in most of the topics you Mii's bring up in conversation and if you are immature and rude like my dialog was, then it can be pretty funny. That is the kind of stuff that drives this game. You have your shops that sell items that chance everyday. From clothes to food. That is fine (I mean its better than picking fruits everyday in AC). Residents always want to talk and you can give them items, dress them how you want and feed them diarrhea soup if you wish. The one thing I really like is that they don't censor anything it seems. They will text-2-speech all the dumb and rude stuff you can think up. That is great. The bad here is that it might not have long legs. This humor will grow stale after awhile, as the mini games and little events your Mii's want to do are not that interesting at all. After about 15 hours, I feel like I have seen all they have to offer and just making new Mii's, new clothes, new food and new phrases for them, is the fun now. There are interactions I still haven't seen and I do want to expand the island more and design some cool stuff. But, I do not think I will be still playing a year from now. It's still fun, but only as funny as your imagination goes. I do wish there were more interactive things for Mii's to work with. One thing I liked about AC was arcade cabinets or TVs, etc. that you could put in their homes. This game doesn't quite have that. I mean you can give them gifts they take out and play with from time to time, but that is about it. Their homes are kind of static, even if you can pick different furniture or theme sets for them, they will not interact with it at all. That is a bummer and one of my bigger complaints with the game. But, overall this game is a lot of funny if you get stupid with it and design tons of stuff. If you just want to pick apples all day and dig up seashells, then continue to play boring ol' Animal Crossing.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is a charming, hilarious experience that rewards you for your creativity. As a Nintendo fan who grew up with the Wii, bringing Miis back to the spotlight brings me immense joy. Nonetheless, it is important to note the game gets repetitive in some instances (which is also an issue in the second installment of the franchise in the 3DS).

I’ve always wanted to play tomodachi life on the 3ds but I never had the means to, and when I was finally able to the sequel was announced. So far this game is amazing. It’s everything I wanted to be and more. The characters are hilarious and watching them get into all kinds of shenanigans is even more hilarious.

I want to start by saying I love this game; this is the most fun I've had playing games in a long time. But I do believe that this could be so much more than it is. It is very much a make-your-own-fun type of game. You get maybe 15 min of tutorials, than its completely up to you to do whatever you want. i do wish there was more to gameplay itself, more games you can play with the Miis, more options for housing, more cutscenes, things like that. But alas, this is a super fun game and a very necessary update for the series

It's a fun casual game to play for a few minutes a day, and making miis is fun. Something I don't like is that it relies too much on customization, so you have to make most of the content yourself, which is time consuming and gets boring. The miis randomly having hiccups/falling and needing your help gets annoying quickly.

Tomodachi life: living the dream is the perfect life sim to rival The Sims.
The goofiness of this game is overwhelming: the scenarios, the dreams, and the characters you can make, which brings us to the customization options. They rock. Some mii customization options are UNIQUE to the game.
And the extra charm of the game is watching you and your freinds (unless your a weirdo who just makes memes like Hugh Morris) do crazy things: having crushes on each other, moving in together, and having babies.
Yup. Don't worry. They get married first.
In all, Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream is for people who are creative and want to go god mode on a little island where anything meme-worthy can happen.

Genuinely so much better game than 3DS version is, this game offers SO MUCH more and also looks quite great! Not to mention you can finally be anyone you want and you can even WALK ON THE ISLAND AND MAKE IT YOUR OWN? Oh wow, genuinely thankful we got this sequel <3

This game is absurdly hostile to anyone with a normal work schedule. One of the three active window of the market is 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, which is great if you’re a student or otherwise free during the day, but terrible if you work full time. It basically expects you to bring your Switch with you, sneak time for it during the day, or miss out. That is not “immersive,” it’s just bad design. And the time-travel penalties make it even worse. Instead of respecting that players have different schedules, the game punishes you for trying to work around them. So rather than feeling like a relaxed life sim, it starts feeling like a game that actively resents adults with jobs. I wanted to enjoy this, but at this point it feels less like a life sim and more like a schedule enforcement simulator. I’m probably done with it.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is a well-made and fun game, if a little repetitive. The game evolves the island format of the original game into a fully customizable and buildable island that your Miis can walk around freely, interacting with each other. As with the 3DS original, most of the fun comes from putting yourself, friends, and other assorted weirdos onto the island and watching the results. However, the game is not without flaws; the Mii count was lowered to 70, which is disappointing, but not unexpected given their increased freedom. The game lacks any method of sharing Miis online, likely done to facilitate the massive amounts of user-generated content allowed in the game, and saving the cost of needing to moderate whatever wacky **** gets made. The friend introduction cut scene gets old really fast, as each option follows the same general script each time, the concert hall is gone entirely, and various complaints about married Miis not sleeping in the same bed anymore, and Mii babies instantly growing up after a quick montage. Besides those complaints, the game is stable (sad that that is a selling point nowadays) and the improved Mii Maker (including the Facepaint) is a ball to play with. The pallet house allows for any idea to come to life in-game, and a fully customizable island allows for any number of unique ideas. Pick this game up, it's good fun.
(I'd say wait for a sale, but it's a Nintendo game, they never go on sale.)

God simulator. Set people up with others, pray that nothing bad happens, and make sure that they live happily ever after. You can also make non-binary people and set a girl-looking-boy with a boy-looking-girl! Everyone wins! Nintendo has truly made one of the most progressive/forward-thinking games, as far as character creation goes.

This game really feels like a playground for any artistic person out there, also its really weird lol.
I've played Tomodachi Life (on the 3ds) for a little while (like 3-4 weeks before and up until LtD Came out, and although quite a bit of features are missing (Which i'm sure will be addressed in a future Switch 2 Upgrade/DLC), from what i've seen so far, this game is a BIG improvement over the previous entry, with TONS of customization, ability to wake Mii's up, island builder etc etc. Which already makes this game have SO much more replayability in comparasion to the last Tomodachi Life... But it's also kind of a bad thing? Sort of??
And i mean that because of so much customization, the game now depends on you and your creativity a LOT more, so you'll have to
1 - Have enough time on your hands (Which wouldn't be much of a problem had we had any sort of Mii sharing system). And 2 - Be good at jokes and entertaining yourself, because a ton of scenes are repeated for countless times, and unless you make them funny yourself (because they left out a lot of original jokes in compromise of customizability, there's still a lot of them dont get me wrong, but i feel like there could've been more too), you'll get bored rather quickly. That being said, i'm still having a ton of fun playing this game as it is, and it already made me laugh a dozen amount of times by now, which is nice as i've been feeling in the dump these couple of months, so there's that :>>
( For anyone still unsure on if they'll like it, just try out the demo, as it essentially shows what the rest of the game will feel like as well)

Does Tomodachi Life Living The Dream deserve tens across the board? No. Does it deserve zeros with no context? No. People who do that without any support to back their case is so disingenuous it hurts. I would say TLLD is an average game at best with little improvements over the first iteration outside of there pretty amazing creation feature, minus one or two things, and heres why. As someone who has spent a lot of time with the original game, I kind of knew what I was getting myself into. TLLD is a game that was meant to be spent an hour or two on a day, if that, and then shut off until the next. I really like to dig into my games for multiple hours at a time, and I did that with TLLD, until I wasn't. By day two, or three, I felt like I had seen everything that the game had to offer and more. The same repeated dialog, the same interactions over and over again. It was fun the first time I saw them, but after the fiftieth time, they started to wear out there welcome. TLLD is a very, i may even say extremely slow game where progress can stop during the day at any time. Sometimes I pop in and no one needs really anything of worth other than food and maybe a outfit change. I took the chance on TLLD knowing how I liked to play. Hoping that way more content between the miis would be added this time around. That is not at all the case and many people I would think will get tired of seeing the same situations everyday pretty quickly. While I commend the vast creation features, including clothes, food, houses, etc, there were some miss steps that I found kind of annoying. No pallet wheel outside of a few instances for many of the creation features in the game is crazy to me. I also wish there were way more hair styles, specifically long hair styles that can go down to below your back would have been really nice. The best way I can describe Tomodachi Life Living the Dream is that it's fun, until it's not. I know the game is very niche, and I get that, but there needed to be more content here outside of just character creation, which seems to be the selling point here. You don't really have full control over your miis either, which some people may like, while others might not. TLLD in a lot of ways is a clone of the original, same pacing, same tone, just more stuff to create and sometimes more stuff to buy. I actually wish the catalog from the fountain was much larger. Maybe more stuff unlocks later down the line, but im already level twenty five and I felt like I had enough with the game in the end. If your in that niche and you don't mind checking in an hour or two a day, you might really like this game. For me as someone who likes to spend hours at a time playing video games, this just wasn't it. I had some enjoyment in the beginning, but the charm wore off just as fast and that will be Tomodachi Life Living the Dreams biggest downfall. 5/10
