Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream8
Apr 19, 2026
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is a well-made and fun game, if a little repetitive. The game evolves the island format of the original game into a fully customizable and buildable island that your Miis can walk around freely, interacting with each other. As with the 3DS original, most of the fun comes from putting yourself, friends, and other assorted weirdos onto the island and watching the results. However, the game is not without flaws; the Mii count was lowered to 70, which is disappointing, but not unexpected given their increased freedom. The game lacks any method of sharing Miis online, likely done to facilitate the massive amounts of user-generated content allowed in the game, and saving the cost of needing to moderate whatever wacky **** gets made. The friend introduction cut scene gets old really fast, as each option follows the same general script each time, the concert hall is gone entirely, and various complaints about married Miis not sleeping in the same bed anymore, and Mii babies instantly growing up after a quick montage. Besides those complaints, the game is stable (sad that that is a selling point nowadays) and the improved Mii Maker (including the Facepaint) is a ball to play with. The pallet house allows for any idea to come to life in-game, and a fully customizable island allows for any number of unique ideas. Pick this game up, it's good fun.
(I'd say wait for a sale, but it's a Nintendo game, they never go on sale.)

Tomodachi Life is a game that is hard to review, as it really isn't a game in the traditional sense, it's more like a fish tank that you check up on every couple of hours. The experience comprises of you creating various Miis that will call your island home, form relationships, and ask for your assistance with problems. The game wraps this loop in a quirky sense of humour and random events. The only issue with this is that after periods of of continued play, the game will begin to repeat itself, and you will begin to see through the cracks in the game's logic. Despite this, the game remains amusing due to the random events and relationships that your Miis form.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games8

A fun little minigame collection for the Wii, themed around the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, that features two of the most iconic sets of characters in the history of video games. Though not particularly deep, the game remains fun, especially with friends.

To put it bluntly, this game is shovelware of the highest order. It is a simple collection of minigames for the Wii, lacking any depth, the AI is piss easy, and with odd motion controls. However, the game remains fun when playing with other people, or as a trip down memory lane, as in my case. If you can find it for cheap (probably not too hard, it's not exactly a hard hitter), and have some friends to play with, go ahead and pick this up, but keep in mind that Wii Sports / Resort are better collections under effectively any circumstance. Otherwise, it's likely for the best to ignore this game, unless you really want it for nostalgia's sake.
