The Simpsons Game (2007)
A solid gaming experience. Platformers may be an overdone genre of games, but The Simpsons Game does a decent job of providing a good game, while not necessarily an innovative one.
It's relatively entertaining but more as a result of its set-pieces, one-liners and occasional clever detail than its gameplay, which is uninspired.

Though much of what makes it good has been lifted from the console renditions (script, level ideas, voice-over), the DS developers give the handheld gamers a unique gameplay experience.

I give the Simpsons Game a six or seven out of 10, because I really like seeing Homer big and fat. I do, however, majorly dislike the struggle and the input delay. I press the B button to jump, and it takes 50 years to compute. I would say that this is a problem on my end, but every other game I play has no delay like the Simpsons Game.

An underrated DS game for sure. Has great and different levels and is ultimately a fun platformer with some fun and simple puzzles. My favourite levels is the mystical level when they fight dragon patty and Selma but most the levels are great fun. Also making homer eat stuff on the couch was also quite fun as well. Not much too this game but worth a play if you own a DS.

The platforming side is mostly fun with only a handful of irritating sections that are a challenge to complete, and while the difficulty is refreshing, at choice points it borders on the frustrating due to a dodgy combat system and the annoying absence of a compensating gap between the action as you move from bottom screen to top screen.

GameZone
Humorously spoofing some classic games throughout the experience, the game has a lot to offer gamers even though the main game is really short.

Very colorful and detailed levels plus very interesting cut scenes between levels.

Follows the template of the console versions to produce a competent 2D platformer. [Feb 2008, p.78]

We loved the game's self referential tone at times, but calling itself out on its own tired shortcomings can't really save the gameplay.

Remove the excellent presentation and engaging audio, and you have a video game that is not fit for purpose.

The controls are good, the touchscreen uses are good, the voice acting is good, level design is good, music was okay. Most about this game was good. The only complaint is that it is short. You would win 4 hours of gameplay until you finish it. Pet Homer was a great feature. Plus, it made fun of all the cliches around that time.
