The Magnifficent Trufflepigs falls short of the mark in its proposal, whose playable base is based on detecting metals that give rise to an excellently interpreted and remarkably written conversation. Its rhythm, a great advantage, stimulates you to keep going until the end, but its mechanics are far from what has been achieved by other walking simulators. In addition, its story has left us wanting more; more depth and depth. We recommend it only for fans of the genre with an emphasis on narrative.

The Magnificent Trufflepigs Trying to detect the point The Maginificent Trufflepigs is a 2 hour long metal detecting game Here you play as Adam, helping beth look for a second earing to a pair she found detecting years ago.. here youll be slowly walking until your metal detector beeps, dig up whatever it is, take a pcture, send it and youll get a little chunk of the story… this whole game is just finding stuff to learn more about beth and her family.. its just a shame she isn’t really interesting.. I found nothing about this game to be interesting.. im thrown into a fenced in area to find items, walk at a snails pace so I would lift my metal detector to run, throw it down see if anything pops up rinse repeat until lunch time while I get to hear this girl cry about her fiance and friend zone me for 2 hours… and there just isn’t anything to uncover.. at th end of that day youll be thrown into a new fenced in area that barely feels different from the last.. and there is just no excitement when you find something new.. no mystery to solve.. youre just finding junk and reflecting on your friendship and listening to her boy problems. his is more of a friendzone simulator, and I was bored of it from start to finish… I give The Magnificent Trufflepigs a 5.5/10

The Magnificent Truffle Pigs labels itself as a first-person, romantic, metal-detecting game, but it’s far, far more than that. It’s a reminder that every person’s path through life is wholly different, and that sometimes the best plan is to have no plan at all. It’s a meditative, peaceful experience that I’m sure will resonate with many others as much as it did with me. If you’re a fan of Firewatch and other narrative-driven titles, The Magnificent Truffle Pigs is absolutely worth your time and money.

The Magnificent Trufflepigs is a short and sweet experience. The game successfully fleshes out an entire character and their development within the narrative and allows for players to find themselves in the story. While graphics, sound design, and excellent voice performances were polished, the gameplay and storytelling have more potential to hold player's interests.

Though Trufflepigs is not the game I was expecting, it’s still a generally pleasant and engaging experience. I loved getting to know Beth and Adam, but the plot is incredibly uneven and feels unfinished. Had I gone into the game thinking it was centered only around Beth and Adam, I would have enjoyed it far more. Sadly, the missed opportunities of the heavily-advertised ‘murderer’ plotline left a sour taste in my mouth.

The Magnificent Trufflepigs almost instantly draws a comparison with Firewatch. But it fails to deliver in the same way and actively made me regret spending the 2 hours required to finish it. The development team wants to both tell a poignant story about growing up and making choices and to (slight spoiler) deliver a twist ending that makes almost everything that comes before feeling empty.
