One component of the original Twilight Princess refused to be transferred into HD. It is, unfortunately, the most important one – the game’s distinct atmosphere, that vanished almost completely. [05/2016, p.61]

This attractive port is a great chance to reappraise - and very much enjoy - an underrated Zelda. [Apr 2016, p.76]

Twilight Princess HD is a great game and should be played if you haven't on the Wii or GameCube. To those that already played it, this HD release offers few additions.

I had always been intrigued by Twilight Princess, since it was the Zelda game for the “mature western” market. When I booted the game and saw the title screen. I knew I was in for a treat. Link riding Epona across the Hyrule fields was reminiscent of the Ocarina of Time, but different enough to warrant a new title. I loved the humble beginnings of Link as a sheep herder, to then have him be turned into a "beast" (wolf). Due to this transformation mechanic, the game was able to re-use a lot of scenarios with doing stealth missions as wolf link, and then once you could be a human, do hero missions. This dynamic, although predictable, kept itself refreshing as everything you became human Link you got a new tool. These new tools really varied the gameplay from dungeon to dungeon. The Wii U version had really nice motion controls that made the range weapons/tools intuitive and easy to use. As for the story, I loved that the little Imp Midna was your companion this time around. Being an Imp, she was the right amount of annoying/bossy you would expect from an Imp, making her a charming companion for this adventure. The big bad was Zat, a fake king of the dark world, his design was great and he was awfully creepy during the story encounters. All the characters were charming. Colin was my favorite, right next to Malo and his antics. I felt like a child again getting my brain teased by the dungeon puzzles and was able to solve them without a guide. This gave me a sensation I had not had in games in years. makes me excited to have my children play this game.

Considering this is my favourite Zelda game based on the fact that it has one of the more mature stories in the series, I gave it the same score [10] I gave to Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom. Twilight Princess is the Zelda game that deserves a total remake or even a movie, due to its story arc, environment, and even the weapons and dungeons. If there was a way of making Twilight Princess following a BoTW or TotK concept, this would be the greatest Zelda game ever... But that's just a humble opinion.

It had been almost 10 years since I’d last played it, but I’d never really stopped thinking about it. It reappeared like a familiar face, creased with age but also timeless, its beauty easier to see without the facade of hype and novelty.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD is a, well, HD-version of Twilight Princess. Higher resolution, better textures. Still an excellent action adventure. [March 2016]

This new version of The Legend of Zedla: Twilight Princess offers superb textures and some nice additions including the use of amiibo and direct access the Hero mode. If you missed this poetic adventure, you have to play it right now on this HD version.

Twilight Princess HD is a solid and convincing remake of a great Zelda game, but we are not totally convinced that is was really necessary.

Properly remastered piece, while not so detailed as Windwaker remake, yet it satisfies you and show how great the Twilight Princess is. If you have not played it, you have to try with this remake, and even if you already played the original you should consider a replay. The unique atmosphere and great design overcome the errors from the original.

Twilight Princess HD is about as straightforward as remakes come, but it finally presents that picture with exacting clarity, warts and all.

After almost ten years Twilight Princess still is a pretty decent adventure, though not close to being the best in the franchise. The world isn’t that interesting, and the dark story feels a bit outdated compared to more modern titles like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. And sadly the HD edition leaves us a bit unsatisfied, mostly because the lack of content and the fact that the visuals should be better.

More of the same Zelda formula, but with a bit of a twist. The ability to play as a puppy is always a nice little gimmick in a game, along with a mirrored shadow world to experience. The story is actually pretty good in this one, surrounded with a bit more mystery rather than a clear cut 'go rescue the princess' plot. But mostly follows the same steps as other Zelda games. Never the less, there is plenty of content to discover if you do a bit of exploring. The game play is a little bit more fine tuned than the last few 3d predecessors, but clunky as always. Platforming in the 3d Zelda games ****, but the combat is as fun as ever, even when you get to be a dog. The Wii U version (just like most Wii U games) does come with the added advantage of the screen on the controller. This made the game a lot more enjoyable as the player is given easy access to the maps and inventory screen. Really saves you from having to stop and start to equip an item or check your location. Overall, there's a lot of fun to be had for Zelda fans, I've played every version and this one is the best. But might be a little slow for most action RPG enthusiasts. Thumbs up from here still!

I was liking the game but.. This game is the life proof that Nintendo does not test its games. I literally dropped the game after 14 hours due to the dumb horse riding controls, literally how can you release a HD version of the game where you mess with the controls and does not test it? F Nintendo!

I know that many people consider this game to be a masterpiece, but after Wind Waker I was just unpleasant to play Twilight Princess.Boring start, unpleasant character and world design, dull music
