I tried to kill off all characters but you can't do that. The girl won't die and will live automatically no matter how hard I try to let her die. It's like game wants her to live because it's probably a self insertion. Dialogue are ****, the gameplay **** and choices don't really matter. Overall, the game ****.

Little Hope is hands down one of the best choice-based games I’ve played. I actually cared about the characters, and that final twist? Blew me away. Didn’t see it coming at all What really gets me about the game is all the symbolism packed into the story. That’s what gives it so much depth, honestly. The only downside is some of the mechanics are pretty clunky now, probably because of that 2022 update. That’s the main thing holding it back for me. With those issues, I’d say it’s a solid 9 out of 10. If they fixed the gameplay problems, though, it’d be a perfect 10. In the end, it’s just a great game. Definitely scary enough to keep you on edge, and the whole vibe and plot are super intriguing. Totally worth checking out.

I think Little Hope is one of the best entries in the whole series (I've played all Dark Pictures games, Until Dawn and The Quarry)! I think the plot was cool and the ending really caught me off guard on my first playthrough. The jumpscares are really scary and the I love the dark vibe with all the fog and the ghost town. I kinda wished it was a little longer, it only had like 4-5 hours of play time.

Little Hope centers on a group trapped in a mysterious town haunted by echoes of witch trials. Its narrative blends psychological horror with themes of guilt and redemption, keeping players guessing until the end. Despite mixed gameplay, the twisting story deliver a compelling horror experience.

Great game. Much better than Man of Medan. Gonna play the next 3 follow ups after this one.

Honestly, this was shaping up to be a 7/10 - it's a step up from Man of Medan, and I like these games fine while I'm playing them. Just like MoM I felt no particular investment in any of the characters and it failed at creating that emotional connection (if I think about it no Supermassive game has ever done so until The Quarry), but this one had a pretty interesting concept, set partly during the Salem witch trials which isn't something I've seen delved into in a video game before despite its potential for horror. I was also pretty intrigued by the whole 'identical counterparts' and the intersection of Salem and modern-day plots going on. And then the ending just... wrecks it so utterly. Like, so utterly that it retroactively brought my enjoyment of the game crashing to the ground and tainted every second that had come before it. Why are we still doing this 'twist' in 2023? Why? It's tired, it's boring, it's uncreative, it's a cop-out, it's been done over and over and over. It's Cliche Twist #1. I genuinely didn't know anyone still did it unironically outside of edgy theories people think up about kids' media online.

Данную часть я проходил на ПС 4 и она мне понравилась больше чем Man of Medan. Чертовщина, заброшенный городок задвали правильну атмосферу, ну а идея с концовкой прям впечаптлила!

It's one of the best cinematic games and it's story is very good and make u feel like detective

In some ways, it's even worse than its trashy predecessor. At least, this one has some kind of "atmosphere" in the beginning, which promptly crumbles in face of everything that is wrong with the game. Take all the flaws Man of Medan suffered from, put then in this one, don't forget to add an even dumber storyline, and there you have it! Making it through Little Hope was physically painful and gave me the opposite of hope : absolutely inevitable and soul-crushing despair.

I really thought no game could be as bad as the first one or even worse, but this game did it. Its probably the worst or one of the worst game i have ever completed. I still think how they made an amazing game like until dawn and the quarry but then they made this saga. I really hope the 3rd one is a little better

The dialogue is pretty meh and cheesy sometimes like most of these games are, but you do get invested in the story. But the game is only 5 chapters long (broken up by talking to the narrator or curator), which was shockingly short compared to games like Until Dawn and the Quarry. BUT the ending ruins the whole game. Like the big explanation is just the worst thing possible. If you like Until Dawn, play the Quarry or Detroit Become Human (if you're looking for a story-driven choices matter but not necessarily a horror). DON'T play this.

The worst story focused game i have ever played. Like how can you make an game like that and completely fail the Story...Nowhere near as good as Until dawn. Even Man of Medan looks like an Masterpiece compared to this...

With a shocking end it was a definitely satisfying story and gameplay. Also has still good looking graphics and mechanics in PS4.

little hope is really average with meh scenes and EXTREMELY slow walking. Controls are clunky and laughably funny to use, doesnt feel like you are controlling a modern game when playing it. The characters walk in the slowest way i have ever seen in a video game, they are literally not human they walk like they are 500kg. Played this with a friend in co op mode and the game's reliance on quick time events and cutscenes really started to piss us off. The jumpscares felt like they were just ways to keep us awake while we were playing the game because most of the time it was really just watching cutscenes, walking around, and pressing circle or triangle at the right second. THAT IS NOT GAMEPLAY. The story was also massively convoluted and after playing for quite awhile i still do not understand who the main character is and what is their objective. It was funny at times when my friend was really excited to kill an enemy and we were both hyped to see him take that shot, but he ended up exploding one of the main characters' heads as a plot twist. Play when drunk with friends over at your house because you wont remember anything from the game anyways.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope turned out to be much better than Man of Medan. This is felt in the first hours of the game. Little Hope is much more interesting and exciting, although it still can't scare at all. First of all, I would like to highlight the point that there are full-fledged 2 storylines that develop in parallel. Secondly, I would like to note the attention to detail, as the characters of the XVII century say. It's a small detail, but how it adds atmosphere. Yes, Little Hope is a passing project that has never been the Until Dawn level. But Supermassive Games is moving in the right direction. I personally liked Little Hope, especially the ending. It is partly expected for this genre, but again remembering the ending of Man of Medan, you realize that everything could have been worse.

Сам сюжет мне понравился, но обескуражила концовка и её вариативности, что сделала её по сравнению с следующей и прошлой игрой, просто не реиграбельной. Итого, на один раз игра на 9 баллов, а на реиграбильность 7.

Slightly better than first but still bad at every aspect and the twist is extremely lazy.

Segunda parte de la antología de cuentos de terror ‘The Dark Pictures Anthology’. En esta ocasión llamada ‘Little Hope’. Nos presenta la retorcida historia de Andrew y sus compañeros de universidad, extraviados debido a un accidente en el pueblo de Little Hope. Una densa capa de niebla cubre la noche en un pueblo que parece abandonado y en el que, desde que ponen el pié en sus límites notan que pasan cosas raras. Pronto averiguan que no pueden salir, están atrapados, por lo que tienen que atravesar el pueblo para buscar ayuda. Una aventura en la que deberemos tratar de conseguir salvar a todos los miembros de nuestro grupo mientras averiguamos que demonios está pasando allí. Excelente capítulo de esta serie de terror en la que en cuanto a mecánicas no hay ninguna novedad con respencto a la anterior entrega, ‘Man of Medan’. Una propuesta para pasar miedo y terminar en un fin de semana.

Nice atmosphere. Nice graphics. Mediocre sound when vlume goes up 100% during jumpscares. Casual controls. A series of games where jumpscare lose its meaning. The biggest flaw of the series. Repeatable, boring, useless jumpscares.

Little Hope is great and in my opinion the second best episode after The Devil in me

Prós: - Plot final é a única coisa que se salva nesse game Contras: - Desenvolvimento fraco - Jogabilidade, a movimentação é bem ruim - Pouca liberdade de escolhas no cenário - Enredo bem meh até a parte final - Partes de apenas andar para frente em ruas vazias Conclusão: um retrocesso ao que man of medan fez que já não era grandes coisas, no geral é uma experiência bem medíocre que não recomendaria a não ser pelo final que realmente surpreende e da uma satisfação pra um enredo até então muito fraco.

I love Supermassive's games, but this one, for me, is very forgettable due to the fact that the story was made to feel very unimportant based on the ending, and the actions of the characters during the game seemed very strange at times to the point that it ruined the immersion for myself.

Very nice and interesting story absolutely ruined by terrible interface and QTE management. Screamers are also bad as that's the last and cheapest thing you should use to scare the player. On PS5 the game stucks on loading close to the last scene, and even the reinstall or other decision before that doesn't help. In a conclusion, the game is not ready for a production even a year after release. 3 is the best i can give for such developer's cheap work.

Played it back to back to Man of Medan. While Medan was new, this part is a more Story driven and most important scary bit for me personally. Still a lot of bugs and annoying stuff. German voice acting is horrible :)

I like the theme of the game. The mystery of the town,the fog, the unease on every step of the way. Definitely the game for the Silent Hill fans. The town looks beautiful. Story is good and the length of the game is perfect. Just as it should be. I recommend you to play it with a good headset, so you can enjoy the game 100%.

Not a bad game but alot is left to be desired. Graphics are good for the most part, the game is easy on the eyes. Controls are good. The story is pretty sub par, you can definitely find worse but if your looking for some depth or real character you probably won't find it here. One of the large problems is in a game about choices, the game has tendency to push you in whatever direction it wants you to go regardless of your choices. Thus rendering some choices weightless, your choices merely annoyed another character or made another character your friend but didn't change the story path.

My favorite title from the series so far. Great story, good caracters, great graphics and really scary. Way better than Man of Medan(6/10), better than House of Ashe(7/10). Great game for 10-20$.

Worst game from Supermassive games yet. The Plot twist at the end ruined it

It's alright. It's not on par with Until Dawn, but it is better than Man of Medan to me. When I first played through this at launch, I was indifferent. I replayed it again recently and... yeah. I can comfortably say I like this better than Man of Medan. The story is interesting, and I appreciate the direction they took it. The boat environments in Medan got old to me - quick. The woods and whatnot in this game didn't. Your mileage may vary in that regard. The main issue with these games typically, for me, is the characters. The pack in this game is equally meh to Man of Medan. I like how they handled characters in Until Dawn, there was a lot of variation, a lot to like, and a lot to (intentionally) dislike. They really had you do different things and go down varied paths with all the characters. The first two games in this new anthology don't do those things nearly as well as Until Dawn did. A solid experience nonetheless.

This part is a little better than the previous. Here we have a much more elaborated optimization, very nice graphic an visual options. The developers worked good about many little details of the game like QTE and the whole engine looks more attractive. Also the characters became a way more rememberable than before. The story itself is also more interesting than the story of the ship. But these are still silly-acting people, who speak to each other in a very strange and silly way, so you cannot take everything seriously. A separate topic - stupid and not scary screamers, which are awful.

Ich liebe ja gute Horror-Filme und natürlich auch gute Horror-Spiele. Und nachdem mir Man of Medan schon sehr gut gefallen hat, war Little Hope natürlich auch Pflichtprogramm. Gesagt getan und für sehr gut befunden. Gute Grafik und gute Charakter-Animationen, gruselige und teils bedrückende Stimmung, ab und an mal einen Erschrecker - genau wie ich es mir wünsche. Die Geschichte ist auch spannend und man möchte am Ball bleiben. Es ist jetzt kein absolutes Meisterwerk, aber für mich durchaus ein sehr gelungener Titel.

Little Hope iis my favorite dark pictures game. That’s b the subject matter is interesting , witches and witch trials. I am less compelled by old navy guys. Also the gameplay in this was a lot less frustrating than the ghost ship ib man ofv maden.

Oct 30, 2020 Lo he disfrutado muchísimo. Es un juego donde lo más importante es la historia y me ha encantado la historia. He logrado salvar a todos los personajes por primera vez lo cual es un logro. No le doy el 10 porque el juego tiene un bug por el que se me corrompió una partida guardada de 3 horas y tuve que volver a empezar de 0 ya que crasheó justo cuando estaba guardando y leyendo en foros es bastante común, estas coas deberían mirarlas mucho mas, son muy frustrantes

A half decent story and world ruined by what is not a very good interactive game. Tropey, unlikeable characters and little to no replayability, especially based on the story. Half assed game mechanics like character traits, that barely matter. Barely serviceable gameplay elements even from a interactive game standpoint. This would be one of those bargain bin games you find, play and quickly forget about if we were in 2005.

Little Hope is an enjoyable interactive soft horror movie, almost as good as the first one of this series. I much appreciate the 60 fps on PS5 and the full audio translation. But for some reason the HDR implementation is completely broken, so I need to switch to SDR for the whole game and let PS5 apply the Auto HDR, which looks a way better than the native one.

Enjoyed this alot more than the first Dark Pictures game. + Interesting story + Great characters - A bit short maybe. Would recommended playing for the story.

i personally love the whole The Dark pictures Anthology series and im dying to play next of the series The Devil in me and also the quarry/ i played this game on PS5 / after Man of medan and before house of ashes(aint played that yet) the story IS MUUUCHHHH better than man of **** amazing its so scary and its fun. i love the STORY. the graphics is better than man of medan the animes and the designs are better. story telling and gameplay is as same as other games. i strongly suggest you to buy this game if you like more to interact with the story and have fun for about 5 hours alone or with your friends. but if your seeking for a hardcore gameplay and challenging qte and bossfights and..... dont pay a penny on this

I had little hope for this game to begin with because i didn't like Man of Medan that much. But this game is much worse, it fails at everything it tries to do. Terrible dialogues, the big majority of the choices don't matter, the ending would be awful even if this game was good, the game is full of boring jumpscares, the old villagers accent makes no sense because back then there was no non-rhotic pronunciation ect. Spoilers: 1. You can't save the doubles but the game always pretends like you can 2. They try to pretend like the little girl as at fault but it doesn't work because we see the reverend intimidating her. 3. It does not matter if you hide or run away or fight the monsters (only your relationship stats go up).
