I rate this a 9/10 its a great Mario party, but there are a few problems though. some of the minigames are bad, the graphics of the last game, Mario Party Superstars. was better, like it felt like you were on the board. and the Jamboree Buddy system is just unfair. like when you pass somebody with a buddy, you STEAL the buddy. and when you pass by the star, you can buy 2 stars for 40 coins, steal 2 stars for 100 coins, buy 2 items at once, that means you can buy 2 gold pipes for 50 coins, and yeah overall it is great, its a bit better than Superstars.

I feel that the vast majority of peoples negative reviews are highly impacted by the fact that this is just a "terrible" mario party. It is a SIGNIFICANT upgrade from Super Mario Party 8. The buddy system is beautiful. The point of having a 10-round mini game to decide who gets the buddy if a player can steal the buddy immediately by simply passing you is great. They have team play, customized dice blocks, and the mini games are complex and imaginative compared to how Nintendo showcased the switch with Super Mario Party 8. You will be extremely satisfied if you buy this game.

Stupid games, the effort to potential spoils ratio doesn't align meaning your wasting your time for most of it. Would rather watch food rot then spend 15 minutes trying to save Luigi for no reason.

Very rock solid Mario Party game that is a much needed improvement from the first Super Mario Party. It’s nice to see Nintendo Cube (formerly NDCube) finally understand what made Mario Party so special.

This game is not worth $85. If this game didn't have the Nintendo brand behind it, it would have been considered mediocre at best.

I enjoyed the beefier single player mode compared to other Mario Party games :)

It's mario party. The minigames are fun. The boards are solid. Even the the story mode was fun. I didn't even think it would have a story mode after the last game didn't have one. But yeah it's mario party. It's hard to do this game wrong unless you're 2012-2018 nintendo.

This game actually is the one of the newer Mario parties to get it right. Superstars was great but due to a lack of boards/dlc it felt flat. This game remedies that with more (although 1 more would have been nice) and rectifies the absurd amount off lucky spaces that was in superstars. This at least has unlucky spaces. Mini games are good, boards are all good just one glaring issue. The buddy system. This does not work. First off your all thrust into a tediously long mini game. Way way too long. no matter who wins the buddy, you can pass that person on the board and steal it. I’ve sat there playing the long mini game and next turn someone passed and stole it. Just makes no sense. Maybe if they hadn’t bothered with the mini game and allowed one or two turns with the buddy then ok. I do like that anyone can steal it but then skip making everyone play a 10 min mini game for it. It’s a little unfair as two stars can be won at least two stars can be lost but I haven’t seen that. So I have to deduct a point for that. Other than buddy system and lack of just one more board, I give it an 8 and still think it’soverall great and best new Mario party in years. Can’t wait to see next one on switch 2. Oh and F the motion controls I don’t play that but cool you can at least turn it off that’s smart thinking. Even if that cuts into the mini game roster. Overall good game though.

The best Mario Party on Switch! It feels like Mario Party Superstars, but more complete! Minigames are a joy as well!

The minigame gameplay is super lazy and super boring. I was never entertained once while playing. Mario party used to be fun.

It's a really good game, nice and all. The new mechanics and the mix of old and new minigames makes it enjoyable to play whether you are experienced on the franchise or a new player.

The best mario party to date. It's go to have actual new and good boards again and the game has a lot of fun minigames, maybe the best collection of minigames ever. I also enjoy the jamboree mechanic because it makes everything a lot more chaotic.

This is one of my favorite Mario Party games I've ever played up there with Mario Party 2, and 8 (sorry I haven't played the gamecube games). This game after years finally gets Mario party right. Superstars was awesome, but it was a compilation so of course it was going to be, and Super Mario Party was a step in the right direction, but needed some work. This game finally gets what people like: Unique Boards, Fun and somewhat quick Mini games, and Items that have both an element of Strategy and Luck to them. It's not rocket Science, and I'm glad they're finally realizing it.

Great! Super Mario Party (the prior game on Switch) was such a letdown, but this game makes up for it. It's superb. I couldn't ask for much more from a Mario Party game.

It's polished. But can we please get something new and exciting from Nintendo franchises, for once?

I would buy the game if Nintendo removed the forced Joy-Con usage. Yes, you can play the game with the Pro Controller and it's much better in that point as the previous Super Mario Party. But some games are just locked if you don't want to play with Joy-Cons. It makes no sense, because the Pro Controller has the same abilities like the Joy-Cons. Motion controls should be optional and only support the player like fine aiming in Zelda BotW. But it seems that the mini games with motion controls, could be also played with regular inputs too. I also don't like luck-based mini games where someone random wins. I am a human being and not bread. I hope the next Mario Party will be better.

This is a great game for both returning and new Mario Party players! There is so much to do! Overall, this game is a 93/100.

All games should be playable with the Pro Controller! It also has a gyro. And all motion games could also be played with regular inputs. Being forced to use the Joy-Cons is brazen and pointless.

My favorite party game with over 85 mini games there’s a lot of games you can play, and all of them are pretty fun (except for Gate-key-pers) in the main party mode. Minigame bay lets you play mini games without having to do an hourlong party. The graphics are very nice compared to other Mario Party games, and the sound is pretty high quality. I quite like the game overall.

It’s a good Mario Party game. It works well as a party game and has great online functionality. The ability to reconnect to a friend’s game if you get disconnected is a phenomenal feature. The single player campaign doesn’t take long to beat and there aren’t many incentives to completing it besides cosmetics and achievements. Koopathlon is a really fun mode that I wish had more minigames to play My true gripe comes with the “Jamboree Buddy” mechanic. It’s a complete downgrade from how the ally system in Super Mario Party functioned. The ability to “steal” them, sometimes their ability just never once giving you any use, the infrequency of them appearing, and them leaving after only 3 turns is really annoying. Not to mention not every character in the game can be a jamboree buddy, which is the entire core purpose behind the game’s subtitle.

“Super Mario Party Jamboree” definitely has a lot of potential and became a real hit for the Nintendo Switch. The boards and mini-games played, especially the mini-games, turned out really great thanks to the training mode. In addition, the many other modes have become simply great and pleasant. The controls and their explanations are great and after just a few games you can do many actions easily from your wrist. The graphical presentation comes across very well on the Switch and the sound is also good. So you can recommend “Super Mario Party Jamboree” to all players with friends or family. If you want to play alone, you have to think carefully about the purchase.

Its more amazing Mario party fun! I Love the new mini games and the returning favorites.
Unlocking things and getting all maps and characters wasn’t too difficult.
Great game to play with friends and family despite the cut throat nature of it.
Better then the first switch Mario party and on par with The second Switch Mario party. I Love Rhythm games and this one has a handful

The best mario party for switch, that's for sure. Fun to play with friends but also one player mode defends itself.

Quantity of Party Favors Over Quality Games: Super Mario Party Jamboree is a worthy, if somewhat stale, successor in a series that reliably delivers what it advertises: moderately entertaining digital board games with a Mario veneer, meant for friends to enjoy between fuller game releases. Jamboree makes a few attempts at innovation, like the middling worldwide online multiplayer and the awkwardly implemented “buddy system,” which feels more like a distraction than a thoughtful addition. These new features don't do much to evolve the core experience. The game banks heavily on quantity over quality. There’s a large roster of Mario characters to choose from, but as usual, these are purely cosmetic with no impact on gameplay. The promised 100+ minigames sound impressive, but many—especially the motion-controlled ones—are duds. Even the more traditional minigames often boil down to chance or tedious mechanics. Favorites from past entries make a return, but it’s hard to fully appreciate the variety when you find yourself stuck playing “Thwomp the Difference” far too often. The Joy-Con Problem: Motion controls are the biggest plague on this game. While most modes let you omit motion-controlled minigames completely, it’s baffling that they were included at all given how poorly they function. The cranking, tilting, and repetitive movements lack the polish or creativity seen in Mario Party 8 for the Wii, which, despite its faults (such as having no way to avoid the motion-controlled minigames), implemented its motion controls more thoughtfully and benefited from better-designed controller hardware. By contrast, Jamboree’s motion games feel tacked on and uninspired, adding frustration where there should be fun. Many times even the examples of how to hold the controller are incorrect or ill advised. Luck > Skill: Winning minigames rarely feels as important as rolling the right number on a die or benefiting from the randomness of Bonus Stars (thankfully, these can be turned off). While this reliance on chance has always been part of Mario Party’s DNA, it feels particularly grating here. It’s hard to feel rewarded for playing well when the game insists on valuing randomness above all else. The stats given at the end of a match are meaningless especially if you've lost despite dominating in every other metric. A Mixed Bag of Boards and Modes: The seven boards (eventually) offer a mix of standout designs and duds. Some boards bring enough variety and charm to keep players engaged, while others fall flat, especially for casual players. The additional modes do help flesh out the game, particularly for single-player and alternative multiplayer experiences, but they’re inconsistent in quality—some are clever and fun, others feel more like filler. Final Thoughts: Super Mario Party Jamboree is another flawed but fun entry in the series. Fans will likely enjoy the sheer volume of content—characters, minigames, boards, and modes—but the game leans too heavily on quantity at the expense of quality. For older players or those less forgiving of the series’ quirks, the frustrating motion controls and reliance on chance might wear thin quickly. Still, when you’re playing with friends, it’s hard to deny the game’s charm, even if it’s more laughable chaos than well-designed competition.

Pretty good Mario Party game. My only problem with it is the weird buddy system. I can't understand why I have to compete for the buddy if I already got it.

Es mejor que Mario party All Stars, según algunos.
Me gustan todos desde la época de de WiiU, pero de manera honesta, este es más completo que All Stars.

This game has some of the best boards from the Mario Party series. But that's pretty much the best part of this game, because it's garbage. One of my main complaints about Mario Party Superstars was the lack of new minigames. Yeah I'm aware that the Superstars game was supposed to be a collection of the best Mario Party minigames from previous entries, but there wasn't a single rule dictating that they couldn't add new ones to go along with it. Well this game does have new minigames, but I much prefer Superstars over Jamboree, because the former was a collection of the greatest hits whereas this one suffers from trash minigames. While this game did have several fun minigames like the bomb defusing minigame, the one with the carousel and the ones that require teamwork, the majority of them are garbage. Some of them are reskinned minigames from previous Mario Party games like the baseball minigame but with food. Some were complete shovelware like the gate one. Some wasted your time because of some stupid rules. The developers also chose some of the worst minigames from previous Mario Party games, which I'll get to that later. ● The developers bragged about this game having the most minigames out of the series, but in reality it has fewer minigames than Superstars. The greedy developers are counting the minigames from the triathlon mode as minigames, and it's ridiculous that none of those minigames are playable through the normal Mario Party mode. They could've easily turned those solo modes into 4 player minigames, but the developers were too greedy and lazy for that. Don't get me wrong, I like it when game modes have exclusive content. But when the main Mario Party game mode lacks minigames, well then I demand you convert the triathlon games into 4 player minigames. I'm getting real sick and tired of Nintendo's obsession with making Bowser the main antagonist of Mario games. You'd think with the inclusion of Bowser as a playable character, that would guarantee a new antagonist, right? Wrong, you still get Bowser as the antagonist, they just made him larger with purple glow and called him an imposter. Triathlon mode did have its fun moments, but it lacks the scope of Fall Guys. Although it is playable offline, so it does have that going for it. ● The multiplayer is fine I guess, but people can easily cheat in the Domination minigame online. And that other returning minigame with the hoops is unbalanced, since the middle players have the advantage. But the main problem with Mario Party games is lack of content and depth. I feel like they should add a 3D Mario adventure game to go along with the minigames, because $60 is too expensive. Or they should make better use of those boards. They put all that effort into making those boards, and you can only interact with the spaces. Imagine if you could use that mall map for like a Mario vs Luigi DS mode, but it's in 3D and you can have around 12-20 players in free-for-all or in teams. Or maybe just normal Team Deathmatch with Mario lore. Now that could've been biblical and given this game more value, but the developers are too greedy and lazy for that. Look Metacritic, I just can't keep looking for excuses to score a game higher than a 0. But if I have to give a game a 4, this is the closest one, because I can't find a single darn game to give at least a mixed score to, not one that was released this decade that is. I recommend this game until it's $15-20.

Super Mario Party Jamboree brings a fun mix of new features and classic party game action to the Nintendo Switch. Players can enjoy a variety of mini-games and seven different boards, with the unique Jamboree-Partner system adding new strategic depth. The game introduces fresh characters and challenges, though some feel the maps could have been larger to prevent repetition. With fun motion-controlled and puzzle-based mini-games, it’s a great pick for family or group play

’ve been playing video games since the NES era, and Mario Party Jamboree is only the second Mario Party game I’ve tried. Back in the GameCube days, neither I nor my gaming crew could really get into Mario Party, and in 2024, as a father of two daughters (3 and 6 years old), I decided to give it another **** first frustrating thing happens right at the start screen—you're prompted to press L+R, which I do, and... nothing happens. Why? Because I’m using the Joy-Cons in handheld mode. I assumed my family of four would be playing together, and it makes sense to use the Joy-Cons in vertical mode. Unfortunately, this means the L/R inputs aren’t recognized (unless all six of my Joy-Cons are defective). Only when I dock the Joy-Cons to the Switch does the game finally react and start.Regarding the game itself, there are 4 boards to play (I read that 3 more are unlocked later), and as a 39-year-old, I found them to be really underwhelming. My girls didn’t mind, though. The problem is, it’s not possible to play with fewer than 4 players. When my wife didn’t have time to join, we had to use the CPU, and even on the lowest difficulty setting, the CPU crushed my 3- and 6-year-olds. Of course, they don’t have much experience, but if I could play without a CPU as player #4, I could let them win naturally without having to set their starting star counts ridiculously **** top of that, the flow between mini-games is really slow. The dialogues are unvoiced and require constant clicking. This means that when my 3-year-old is taking her turn (yes, she’s a little young for gaming, but when her big sister is playing, she wants to join in, and we only have two 30-minute gaming sessions per week), I’m stuck navigating her through shop dialogues or confirming that she got 10 coins for completing a round. After two board game sessions, we decided to check out the other options in Mario Party Jamboree, and to my surprise, most of them are single-player only. The only two-player modes are flying and a tricky "use your Joy-Cons as machines" mode in Toad's Workshop. Unfortunately, more interesting-sounding options, like bombing stuff, aren't suitable for couch **** seems like the whole game is designed with single-player in mind... Hello? Mario Party? I honestly can't understand how this game was nominated for "Best Family" and "Best Multiplayer" at the Video Game Awards. I suspect that none of the people responsible for the nominations actually played the game themselves.I’m extremely disappointed. I bought the digital version, or I would have already sold it.

It's a very great game, with the biggest roster of all time, the biggest number of minigames ever and biggest number of boards ever (I think). It has very good minigames and modes to play. However, Diddy Kong wasn't included in the game, some jamboree buddy minigames are a bit hard and, although new boss battle minigames, it has a lack of them.

I'll start with the "bad": Some of the minigames in party mode feel very generic, Nintendo would appreciate if they added an update or DLC with more quality minigames (either from past installments, from other modes of the same game, or new ones), I'm sure a lot of people would buy it, especially considering the success that the game is having. And in another update it would be nice if the animations for board events or other players' movements were faster.
The good: party mode is crazy, I played it over the weekend with my friends and we died laughing, and it's very strategic, compared to the most recent installments, it entered my top 5 without problems (3>6>2>Jamboree>Superstar).

UnderDrouin

Fantastic Mario Party game. Mario Party is so back. Everything from the fantastic boards, the great character roster, the great music, etc.
