i remember the day i got this game. we had guests over and it was a beutiful sunny day,i remember loading the game up on my system for the first time and being amazed at how good it looked and how fresh it felt (i was young back then and easily amazed by little things) i sat down the entire day on the couch just playing the game and almost got to world 8 in one sitting,i also remember that feeling of discovering that there were 8 bonus worlds and that you could play as Luigi, this game is the best i thought to myself. i may be biased and blinded a little by nastolgia, but i don,t care about that, this game is so much fun and i have 100 completed it once and will do it again!. if you have a 3ds i strongly recommend this game, its really "just a Mario game" but it just has a vibe to it that make me feel so much joy. did not expect to write such an indebt review about mario 3d land, but it made me think about all the good times i,ve had gaming, this is what its all about.

Super Mario 3D Land is a decent platformer that introduced the formula later perfected in 3D World, but it feels more like a prototype than a fully realized game. The levels are fun and the controls work well for a handheld system, but many ideas feel underdeveloped compared to what came **** be fair, it was designed for the Nintendo 3DS, so it couldn't match the scale or power of a home console release. Even so, the game lacks the creativity, content, and polish that make 3D World stand out. The worlds can feel repetitive, and there aren't many memorable moments that stick with you after finishing it.

Me encantan los juegos de plataforma como este. Fué super entretenido de inicio a fin, su diseño es súper interesante y didáctico. Me gustaría jugar más de este estilo.

Purely amazing! Fun to play, great platforming, not too hard yet not too easy. It's basically the classic Mario games, but in 3D!

You won't be bored when playing, but this game won't leave much of an impression either.

Fun but repetitive. Feels like 3D World but crunched down into a 3DS game. Very uninspired but manages to be decent due to it's good platforming

I don't feel like this is in the same category as the other 3D Mario games like 64 and Galaxy, but this feels like a literal 3D Mario Bros. game (similar to 3D world)
It's really nice that this game included an entire postgame the same size as the main game, making it have a ton of content for a handheld game.
I didn't quite 100% it, but beat every stage, and it was a fun and challenging game (especially in the Special worlds)
I hope they do make more 3d games like the mario bros. formula as it is still very fun.

This is my favorite Super Mario game. I like the power-ups, adding a new power-up, and I love the level design. This is what I call Super Mario 3D.

I really liked Super Mario 3D Land very much. It’s one of the games I’ve completed 100%, and even played through it twice, just because it’s so much fun. And it's not lacking in challenge either. Because if you want to complete everything (get 3 stars everywhere), it's really difficult in the later levels - and that's great. It's a wonderful game with awesome music and graphics that make good use of the 3D effect. In my opinion, it's one of the best Mario games.

Great game, I enjoyed it very muchI probably don't recommend it to most Nintendo fans as it's repetitive but enjoyed it anyway!

My only criticism is that the game is criminally short for a Mario game, though it’s still of decent length for a 3DS game, maybe even the best one at that. I did everything the game has to offer in about 10 hours or so and it was blissful. Really good game despite the fact that it may lack some of the more shiny polish of Galaxy, 3D World, or Odyssey.

One of the best handheld experiences of all time. If anyone says this game **** they're not your friend. 10/10 better then Bomberman Act Zero on the Xbox 360

Probably the most underrated and forgotten Mario game out there. there wasn't a single second while playing this game that I wasn't having fun although it is a very forgettable experience.

This game is just a lot of fun,for some people is so much easy, is so short, but no **** possibly the 3d Mario more undervalued because 3d world exists, but is a game that you can play for hours, and the final boss is Bowser(like always) but is different, because he chases us for all the route,is entertaining and I guess is a Mario's game that you may touch at least 1 moment in your life

I would say it's a forgettable 3D Mario game. It's not a bad game, it's actually a great time. However, it doesn't have much of a identity. It's just a fun 3D Mario game. It's "successor," 3D World, is much more memorable.

Super Mario 3D land review:Super Mario 3D land is a complicated game because on one hand the levels are fun and easy to play through. on another some levels are just dreadful. the end of the game drags on. the controls also aren't perfect.Graphics: 8/10This game did great with graphics and is one of the best 3ds games. they also attempted to make 3d necessary but it definitely isn't. the graphics are more plastic or shiny than other mario games but it looks good. however the camera movement wasn't great.Level design: 6.5/10This game has great levels and bad levels. sometimes the level design is enjoyable and has interesting twists or enemies but other times it's just frustrating and confusing. i also didn't like how you had to search for star medals to unlock certain parts of the game. sometimes you explore for secrets and you still don't find a star medal it might be a one up which is still a great surprise but obviously i'd rather get what i came for. also there isn't much of a point in having any power up other than the tanuki leaf which makes it frustrating when you don't have it. it definitely makes levels more fun though.Bosses: 3/10Probably the weakest part of this game you just fight the same boss over and over again. there are a few bowser fights and other than that it alternates from boom boom to palm palm. while the fights change from time to time they are still the basic concept of jump on their head where other 3d mario games like galaxy and odyssey use creative ways to damage bosses. the bosses just feel basic and not unique. except for the final boss that one is pretty cool.World map: **** this games world map. each world (8) has a theme yet none of the themes match the setting of the level. there could be a water level in a lava world or sky level in a desert world it just doesn't make sense. what's the point of having a world map if it's gonna be this ass.Power ups: 8/10Pretty decent power ups in this game but the tanuki suit is the best so it makes other powerups feel useless. you shouldn't have a power up that is so much better than the rest that it makes the others less enjoyable.Controls: 7/10The controls have their ups and downs. the 4 main buttons are fine but the issue lies within the circle pad, while it's better than controlling a 3d game with a dpad (super mario 64 ds) is still isn't perfect and is much worse than your typical analog stick. the long jump in this game is also ridiculously underpowered than other 3d games. honestly making the long jump almost useless since it just isn't efficient. that might be a side effect of just playing galaxy where the long jump is a huge part of movement but i feel it should be stronger in 3d land. also the l and r buttons on the 3ds feel horrible and too clicky and uncomfortable to press.Overall:7.9/10 there are ups and downs to this game but it's still good at the end of the day.

Mid just plain mid some levels are retextures of othersthe level design is uninteresting and is new super Mario brosified it’s so uninspired when you play a level you sometimes forget what you just played the bowser fight is good though but you need to beat every level twice once as Mario and once as Luigi the game canbe a good Kids first Mario game though But just get 3d world its much better

It's just really good Mario. It's a bunch of short levels with fun new power ups which is great for a handheld console. I do find it quite forgettable but replaying it is always fun.

Los efectos en 3D de este juego son de los mejores en la consola, es un plataformero bien echo como siempre, los jefes se vuelven repetitivos, fuera de eso todo bien.

It's great and fun with cool level design and great replayability, but it's not really memorable or the best in its field still an awesome game though

Super Mario 3D Land was always a childhood favorite of mine, and having the pleasure of playing through this game as an adult to acquire a full sense of what makes this game everything it is, is very satisfying. When the Wii came out and Mario Galaxy was the newest Mario 3D platformer title, it was amazing, as we all know. As a child at the time though, I didn't have a Wii of my own. My time on Mario Galaxy was limited. So when they released a much similar game on the 3DS 4 years later, a console that I could call my own, it felt magical. I could play it whenever I wanted, wherever I wanted. Let's admit though, If you took Mario Galaxy and removed the outer-space aesthetic, Mario 3D Land would pretty much be a compact 3DS version of Mario Galaxy. From level style to textures to sound design. I played this game entirely in 3D. Whilst I'm 100% completing my library, I'd quite like to get the full intended experience while I'm at it. However, even with 3D mode enabled, I was still occasionally having trouble comprehending depth perception through motions that moved toward or away from the given perspective. I would get it eventually but only through muscle memory and a few attempts at the troubling section. Not sure if this is a game thing, a console thing, or a me thing. A key thing I noticed quite far into the Luigi levels was that the themes and patterns were all very similar to each other and a little repetitive. Now, I know reusing textures and enemies is probably a key sacrifice in creating such an experience on a small handheld such as the (near) 14 year old 3DS, but it definitely didn't go unnoticed. Unfortunately, the game was much easier than I remember it being. I sort of found myself rushing through the levels as I knew there wasn't going to be any real challenge or any preparation required at any point. That was until I started the Luigi levels. Throughout the whole underground experience, the levels were of a difficulty that kept me interested from start to finish. It's rare that a game re-peaks my interest so late into a playthrough but honestly, the fun started all over again. I completed this game in December 2024, not far from 14 years after this game came out. I can say with the utmost confidence that this game is, and will forever be, utterly timeless. The game does not feel 14 years old in the slightest. I mean, it's 3D for Pete's sake. Whilst admittedly a gimmick, it really puts you in the game and is still amazing to this day. Let's not gloss over the soundtrack either. Is there yet to be a Mario game without a soundtrack that makes a player bop? I think not. Super Mario 3D Land is no exception. My favorite tracks are the ones that play in the desert type areas. All in all, the overall experience was not quite as enjoyable as I remember it being, but that doesn't take away from what the game is. It has variety in terms of challenges and difficulty, despite its lack of variety in enemies, textures, and themes. It's simple, but later proves challenging for more experienced players who are willing to get that far. It's generally charming to say the least. I'd recommend to anybody with a 3DS just to experience what a 3D Mario game looks and feels like when in true 3D. (Completed with 5 shiny star profile).

Super Mario 3D Land is a great 3D Mario game, even though it’s more classic and generic than other titles in the series. The game has a great soundtrack that fits each level perfectly. Most levels feature a unique gimmick or are simply very well designed for platforming. Combined with well implemented power-ups, Super Mario 3D Land offers a strong foundation of simple, fun and engaging gameplay. The S-Worlds, which include harder variants and sometimes completely new levels, increase the overall experience and even provide a good amount of challenge. While the game might lack a big, defining gameplay gimmick like other 3D Mario games and feels a bit more traditional and generic, its polished gameplay and perfectly tuned design for the 3DS make it easily able to compete with other great titles in the series. The only real downside is that the controls feel a bit janky. But in the end, this game remains fantastic and is definitely worth playing. 9,3/10

It is a very special game, especially because I had the opportunity to meet in person Charles Martinet on game launching (in Brazil). This game has a very nice level design, soundtrack, gameplay and a good usage of 3D capabilities of 3DS. The best Mario game for a Nintendo handheld system.

as Child, I wasa Big Fan of the Game, due to being always a Nintendo Child, So, My Parents Got it me to Christmas, Together with my First Hand Held, The Nintendo 2DS. I tried for Hours to Play all the Levels, and My Biggest Highlight were the Items, like the Tanuki-leaf, and the Levels also were new And Unique, so i Give the Game a 9, due to also the Levels being a Bit too hard to me.

I love this game, it's a mix between the classic 2D Super Mario with the mechanics of 3D Mario. The only negative thing is its secondary story, which is somewhat bland.

The game is cool, Mario is easy to handle and a pleasure to hold. What I like about the game is the post-game where you go into 8 bonus levels where you have to collect as many stars as possible to progress. A fun game.

This game singlehandedly saved the 3ds, and for that it deserves the world, a very good platformer.
Edit: I just replayed it and its somehow way better than I remember, it has the right to stand in the lineage of 3D Mario games (probably more than Sunshine)

I'm glad 3D land was more than just a quick cash cow **** for Nintendo and gamers alike. It's a game that may borrow heavily from past Mario games, but it still creates a unique experience that is very much on the go, and it's riddled with plenty of content for those that want a little more bang for your buck. It may have some issues with camera angles and controls, but it's a good game in its own right.

A very advanced game and surprisingly good for a portable console. If this game it's so good imagine it's Wii U continuation 3D World, really one of the best Mario games out there.
