Silly Polly Beast isn’t “silly” at all. It’s stylish, disturbing, beautiful, and shockingly smart, especially considering it’s basically made by one person. You play as Polly, who escapes an orphanage dreaming of freedom, only to be dragged into something much darker, literally. The story dives into the trauma young people face when they’re powerless, and it does so with surprising emotional weight. It’s not cheap horror; it’s human horror. The art direction? Insane.Every environment looks like a twisted neon nightmare mixed with dreamlike elegance. The camera angles feel deliberate and cinematic, sometimes beautiful, sometimes suffocating, sometimes “oh no I’m about to die” vibes. It doesn’t just show you a scene; it frames it like a film. Gameplay-wise, it’s survival horror with action elements. You shoot shadow creatures with a gun that refills near lit barrels (genius mechanic), bonk enemies with your skateboard, and sometimes just panic and run. Ammo isn’t infinite, resources are tight, and the autosave system loves to immortalize your bad decisions, so be wise. It’s challenging, but not in a rage-quit way. More like:“Maybe I should stop throwing my skateboard at everything.” The more you explore, the more abilities you unlock (yes, including flying), and the story keeps getting darker and more captivating. You’re never pushed forward just to survive, you want to know what happens next. In general, I really like this game.
