The game is the deepest and most exciting to date of all the freewheeling street shooter games. There are missions and activities galore.

Saint's Row has done something that "Grand Theft Auto" had never managed to do for me: the game is so over-the-top, so exaggerated, so hyperbolical, that it really makes you suspend your disbelief and just "act a fool", getting into the role of your own personalized character and becoming a gangster.

10/10 and I don't give a f*cking **** how late I am to review this dirty bastard of a masterpiece. Best game in the gangsta/crime genre you'll ever play, while the graphics are kinda dated on this game, but the ragdoll engine that SR had was leagues above any other open world crime shooter. GTA SA doesn't have f*ck all on Saints Row in any way. People, including me, calling it a GTA clone, though I never meant that in a negative way. SR did everything that GTA did 100 times better, the gangs, the story, the clothes, the jewellery the guns, the cars etc. I wish I could play it again, but I sold my 360 about 9 years ago, so there's no way. But to anybody who's interested and owns a 360 and is into crime games, this is a f*cking must.

The missions and activities are fun, and the shooting action is perfectly tuned. Even as a serious imitator, Saint's Row manages to transcend its plagiaristic tone and delivers a genuinely engaging experience.

While Saints Row won't win any awards for originality, it does manage to weave a pretty interesting story with great game play and a lot of fun activities to do.

Volition tries and fails to re-create GTA’s sense of style, but their attempts at humor, from the naming of the businesses to the radio commercials, just comes off as even more derivative and less-inspired than its current gen doppelganger.

It’s good, messy fun, even if everything but the multiplayer is “borrowed.”

I don't want to see anyone play this badly built junk even once, let alone own it for the "joy" of multiple playthroughs. The single player experience was so bad I refused to even try the online mode. I don't want to see anyone else go through the pain of being tempted with such an immersive experience just to have it ripped away by the shortcomings of whoever was responsible for these game-breaking glitches.

Wish they would remake this one. Remaster it or something, release it on all platforms, let everyone have fun with the saints. A good start of the series. Pickens approves.

Boring, repetitive, shallow and below average in every way possible. I played it out of boredom.
