Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is an amazing remake from developer and publisher Square Enix. It takes an already beautiful classic and properly retools it with a modern look and gameplay backbone. While not everything is perfect, it still maintains its charm and the structure that made it memorable back in the day.

As with most SaGa games, Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven isn't for everyone but those who enjoy it will love it a lot. Spanning generations and a huge stand-out game world, it's one of the grandest RPGs ever made.

This game is really underrated. It's one of the best JRPGs of all time. It's not just a remake, it's a high-quality RPG. The story is non-linear, unlike typical JRPGs. You get to create your own story. The combat system is incredibly fun and challenging at the same time, but the real fun of this game is figuring it out and solving it yourself.

This game was my first introduction to the SaGa series and after finishing it completely. I have to say that it's one of the best JRPGs in this decade!

Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is a remake of the classic Super Nintendo game, now adapted for current consoles. Its gameplay mechanics continue to position it as one of the most original franchises in a market saturated with this type of adventure, offering a unique experience at a great price. However, its artistic presentation may spark debate due to its world's simplicity and its music's repetitiveness.

The long-awaited return of what was a revolutionary RPG in its day, but a more classic one today.

Romancing Saga 2: Revenge of the Seven remakes an overlooked gem into a modern-looking feast for old-school JRPG fans, though some wrinkles still show.

Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven flees from the idea of the lone hero and puts us in the shoes of an entire dynasty focused on recovering the splendor of the empire. A very interesting point of view in which the role of the adventurer gives way to that of the many emperors and empresses who will open their way through the lands of the Varennes Empire. A somewhat simple fighting system is complemented by a lot of great ideas and surprising mechanics that make this remake unique.

Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven tries to be a remake but fails in so many areas. It is a product that is very close to the original, with hardly any significant changes beyond the new visuals. It has a dull story and forgettable characters. The gameplay is atypical and will not appeal to everyone, especially since it is random. Graphically, the game feels outdated with models that resemble plastic figures.

I never played the original, so I didn’t really know what kind of game this was. I tried the demo and saw decent visuals, a stable framerate, and a turn-based combat system with weaknesses—which is just something I personally enjoy. It looked like a quality game overall. I wasn’t sure I would like it, but decided to buy it anyway. And I was very pleasantly surprised. I did feel disappointed a couple of times at first—for example, it’s not obvious that enemies scale up based on how many battles you’ve fought, or that the game has missables like classes and spellbooks. But overall, I finished the game in six days, playing non-stop, and really enjoyed it. For me, that’s a sign of a 10/10 game: when I can play it for hours and hours every day without getting bored or tired. It made me even wonder, “Was the original game this fun too?”—I actually want to try the classic version now just to see what it was like. I don’t even know why exactly the game clicked with me—there’s basically no real story, towns are empty and have almost nothing to do. Maybe the simplicity is what made it enjoyable. At one point I felt stuck because the enemies were getting stronger and I didn’t know how to keep up—I tried leveling all weapons evenly, then gave up and just focused on fire magic. Eventually, I was one-shotting enemies in groups and it felt great. If I could change anything, I’d make it much clearer that enemies get stronger the more you fight, and that there are missables (Though there is New Game+ and you can get everything eventually). I had to Google that info and thankfully missed nothing, but I would have preferred not having to look it up. I’d also make weapon proficiency descriptions more understandable. For example, when it says someone is “proficient in swords and smallswords,” does it mean they gain experience faster, or have a better chance to glimmer techs, or does it mean nothing at all beyond starting levels? I still don’t know. Objectively, I’d say the game is more of an 8 or 9, but I’m giving it a 10 just because I personally had so much fun. It’s rare these days that a game grabs me like this one did.

Well-developed system with nice depth, however the difficulty curve does not make sense, the game becomes harder too fast when it comes to the endgame

Ibeated the game and iIts not a bad game but its kinda lazy game, whan the game start the game choose which gender you want then the game start just like every others RPG but when you getto the game. You don't even get the play that characher, you play as "Leaon" the emperor in the past then time skip you just choose emperor to other emperor and on until to the end. Then finally the final emperor is the character you choose before the game start. Every emperor you choose in the game look the same the only different is that their outline on their faces is different. Others then that the gameplay, musics, arts and the desgin are great. On the world map you can only fast travel. There LP in the game which mean Life Point, everytime a characher die they lose 1 LP when that character lose all their LP they gone (permadeath) As for side-quests there alot of quests to do but if you didn't do them all before time skip they gone. Last but not least at the beginning of the game every of your characters speak and talk in every cutsene, but once you reach the first time skip everyone went silent the emperor ands your party members for the whole entire game until the ending.

This game gets 45/100 if I was to score it. terrible narrative and doesn't respect the player AT ALL!!! I grinded hard to get level my weapons efficiency and characters with the MC (the prince) only for the game to skip FIFTY TWO *YEARS* into the future and kills all my team in the process, ... WTF??!?!!!!?!!?!!?!!!! 52 years??? YEARS???!!!The game forced me to pick a new emperor and made me choose from the remaining commoner teammates (that somehow didn't die or age after 52 YEARS!!) then I got to check my town after *52 years* and nothing changed, the smithy still a little girl the same as she was *half a century* ago. Do these developers not know what a year is?? do they think it's a week or a month??????All my hard work got killed and I hard to start grinding a new team, ... I quit this nonsense.
