Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition, offers a tense, action-packed thrill-ride through some wonderfully styled sub-genres of horror. With so much to explore, collect, and fall prey to, it’ll keep fans engaged for quite a while, and rekindle fandom for those who lost it.
Resident Evil Village remains one of the more experimental entries in the Resident Evil franchise, and the experience translates well to the Switch 2. With stable performance in docked mode, and only minor stutters in handheld, this port is a great way to experience Village's defining gameplay. Even if the narrative isn't the strongest in the series, the solid technical performance for the game's blend of action and horror, makes this port an easy recommendation for players wanting to experience—or revisit—Ethan Winters on Switch 2.
Resident Evil Village for Nintendo Switch 2 stands out as a brilliant conclusion to the Winters arc thanks to its DLC, excellent optimization, and portable performance that rivals other versions. Accessible action, horror, and puzzles with the classic essence of the series.

Bene ma non benissimo, rispetto a RE7 in linea di massima village non raggiunge la stessa qualità generale ma resta comunque solido a livello di performance ma con molti più compromessi. 8.3/10

Worth Playing
The Switch 2 version of Resident Evil Village stands up there with Resident Evil 7: Biohazard as being an absolutely solid port for the hybrid console. The frame rate is almost rock solid throughout, and while a good chunk of lower-resolution textures is still present, they aren't as noticeable as before. The core game is still excellent, but it caters more to the action crowd like Resident Evil 4 did instead of the true survival-horror vibe of the previous title. Those who only own Nintendo consoles but love horror will get a kick out of this title, especially since it comes in a more reliable form than the original Switch version.

Incredible port. Same as the ps4 Pro but in portabily mode. Yea in handheld mode we have some fps drops from 60 to 40 in the village level ( the open world) and wen we have the insect's on screen from the girls but in dock mode is perfect without problem's. A must buy for horror fans really grate port.

Resident Evil 7 and Village deliver a surprisingly solid experience on Switch 2, showcasing the RE Engine's impressive adaptation to the hybrid console. Resident Evil 7 runs almost flawlessly, presenting a largely uncompromised version; however, Village frequently struggles with unstable framerates in open areas and displays visual compromises, yet its confined sections perform fantastically well.

Resident Evil Village’s Switch 2 port is nothing short of a masterclass, showcasing what the hardware is capable of, while giving you the chance to experience another great RE game.

Although more action packed than its predecessor, Resident Evil Village is a hell of a spectacle and very impressive on the Switch 2.

Resident Evil Village for Nintendo Switch 2 is a well-made port, although it's lacking the exclusive mouse feature which we wish they included.

Performance on Switch 2 isn’t as impressive as RE7, unfortunately. Although visuals and frame rate remain consistent in docked mode, there are a few issues present when transitioning to handheld. It still looks great, but you’ll definitely notice a few stutters here and there, particularly when exploring exterior environments like the central hub and reservoir...I still very much recommend playing Village. Its gameplay and pacing are excellent, and there’s one very specific moment that remains one of the scariest in the series’ history. When compared to RE7’s superb story and the wider franchise lore, however, Village is a bit of a narrative anomaly that I’m not convinced will stand the test of time.

Resident Evil Village on Nintendo Switch 2 is, unfortunately, a major disappointment compared to Requiem. While the core game itself remains strong in terms of atmosphere, setting, and overall design, the port makes it extremely difficult to actually enjoy any of that. The visual quality is simply awful, with aggressive ghosting that is constantly visible during movement, combat, and even basic exploration. It’s not a minor flaw you occasionally notice — it’s always there, smearing the image and breaking immersion to the point where longer sessions become frustrating. The overall picture looks muddy, fine details get lost in motion, and the presentation lacks the sharpness and stability that made Requiem so impressive on the same hardware. Considering how well optimized Requiem turned out, this version feels like a clear step backward. What makes it worse is that this is an older port, and with the level of technical execution seen in Requiem, such issues are simply unacceptable. There’s no reason previous releases shouldn’t receive the same level of care and optimization. In its current state, Village on Switch 2 feels poorly handled and significantly inferior to Requiem from a technical standpoint, which is especially disappointing given how strong the game itself actually is.
