The more you play, the more it feels like Raccoo Venture misses the mark just enough to make it feel like a bit of a letdown. It’s a solid game, but with a few tweaks it could’ve been a lot more.

Raccoo Venture is a platform game starring a raccoon that must recover the magical relics of his grandfather. It is well designed, and clearly influenced by classics from the 90s like Super Mario 64 or Crash Bandicoot3. Some of the most fun levels are ridiculously short, and the combat is lacking in action and variety. The puzzles are challenging and the levels are balanced, but the game does not stand out in any aspect.

I would have loved to have enjoyed my time with Raccoo Venture more than I did, because we need good old platform games like we saw in the 1990s, but Raccoo Venture never quite gets there.

cute graphics and great soundtrack but the game is ruined by it's 2.5 jump mechanics making it very difficult to judge where to jump to resulting in constant deaths and restarting making it infuriating to play!

Raccoo Venture nos leva novamente para 1996! Me senti novamente como um adolescente jogando jogos como Croc, Mario 64, Spyro, MediEvil, entre outros. O esmero nas cores, as fases muito bem desenvolvidas, nos fazendo visitar mais de uma vez cada pedaço do jogo pra completar 100% da fase, nos remete há uma época que lembro com grande carinho. O mais importante é trazer a cultura do Brasil para o jogo, como colecionáveis (Eu amei o SAci), o pombo Pru (só quem é Brasileiro vai entender a referência, o chapéu de cangaceiro que o Rei do Baião Luiz Gonzaga usava, entre outro detalhes lindos do jogo. Esse jogo merece muitos prêmios e mostrar para o mundo que os desenvolvedores brasileiros tem potencial para jogos gigantes. Esse jogo é um divisor de aguas em 2023!

Raccoo Venture isn’t a chore. It’s beautiful and the music is lovely. I loved the environment design and when you do find challenges, they are fun to tackle. I do think that Raccoo’s jumps get too tight later on, having the player jumping off specific angles to make jumps isn’t fun especially if they’re not part of the beaten path. The game performs amazing on a wide variety of systems, too, and that’s impressive given it’s just one man making this game. Raccoo Venture has its landings, you just need to get used to them.

Raccoo Venture is highly inspired by the classic 3D platformers of yesteryear but does not implement enough unique ideas to stand out from the crowd. There are some fantastic environmental puzzles that are thoroughly fun to solve, but they are far too short. The uneven difficulty, annoying secondary character mechanics, and a few bugs ultimately dilute the experience.
