This is a Pokemon game with a very Pokemon gameplay with a very Pokemon story and it's a very Pokemon remake

I think many reviews focus too much in the negative and not in the positive aspect. Pokemon briliant diamond let the players replay the classic games of Nintendo DS with some quality of life that the new games offer. Definitely not an amazing title, but it's an amazing game for newcomers of the series, offering similiar experience that veterans had in 2000.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are good, but I think the battle difficulty in the Pokémon League increases very sharply. I mean, before, you only had weak opponents (like the Gym Leaders, who were quite weak) and you could easily defeat them. In the Pokémon League, the first few battles are okay, but when you get to Cynthia, her Pokémon almost always attack first, no matter how many levels higher you are. This is a huge disadvantage for the player. It's still doable, but it's not really fun that if you lose, you have to battle all four of them again, and you can't start the fight beforehand. Another complaint is that when you defeat Lucian and go into the next room, the battle starts immediately without warning, and you can't heal your Pokémon in time if you don't know it's going to start automatically. Overall, I think the game is quite good, it's just a bit too fast.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are some of the most disappointing remakes Nintendo has ever released. They aren't terrible games, but that's mostly because Sinnoh was already great back in **** biggest problem is that these remakes add almost nothing new. When Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire came out, they introduced Mega Evolution, new story content, and enough changes to justify revisiting Hoenn. BDSP feels like someone copied Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, gave it a new coat of paint, and called it a **** that new coat of paint isn't even an improvement. The chibi art style looks like a weird collection of Funko Pops and completely loses the atmosphere that made Sinnoh memorable in the first place. In many ways, the originals simply look **** story, progression, and overall experience are almost identical to the DS games. Nothing meaningful changes, which makes the entire remake feel pointless if you've already played the originals. If this is your first time visiting Sinnoh, you'll probably have a good time because the foundation is still excellent. But for returning fans, there's very little reason to care.

Not as bad as people say, however it isnt as good as the GOAT Platinum. The music goes crazy and the graphics are cute af.

don't buy this game just stick to the original game or just pokemon platinum

Me diverti muito, passei horas jogando, um dos jogos que mais joguei no switch, não precisa pagar 300 reais em dlc para capturar lendários, mas oque foi mais decepcionante foi o underground, muito chato ficar mineração paracapturar os lendários.

Easily the best switch era pokemon game. The best looking 3d pokemon. Remarkably fun battle tower in post game. Remakes Diamond well while improving on things like the underground. The only thing keeping it from being a 10 is there’s no VGC for this one.

just how are we pretty much copy and pasting the 2ds game into unity and making it 3d and calling it a day then selling it for $80cad. couldnt even bother to do the features from platinum? tsk tsk shining pearl on the other hand was a 10/10.

Let's be real about this - Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are lazily slapped together cash grabs of games, so it's not going to deliver the same production, value, and charm that previous remakes of the series did. Both of these games are severely underwhelming because they are the exact same as their original DS versions. The entire map is copied over from the DS verbatim with no changes so that it could fit with the chibi art style, the story is still the slow paced slogfest that it is, the trainer battles are piss-ass easy with absolutely no challenge (not even CYNTHIA is a challenge anymore), the Sinnoh Underground is nowhere near as fun as it was, the Contests in Hearthome City are completely half-assed, still not having that much variety of Pokemon to go into the Elite 4 with, getting Legendaries is an absolute trainwreck to do, and lastly no Platinum content. ILCA Inc. really had no clue how to make a proper remake of a Pokemon game, and the Pokemon Company absolutely did not care about these games, and this is one of the main reasons why I stopped supporting Pokemon. I will HAPPILY go buy something that is worth more of my time, such as Need for Speed: Unbound.

This remake was soulless, made to silence the fans who had been desperately asking for Sinnoh remakes since 2014.

What even happened here? This is the only pokemon game I wouldn't reccomend to anyone

un buon gioco che funziona dall'inizio alla fine ma un pessimo remake fedele ma non fino in fondo che tenta di aggiornare alla modernità perdendo la sua anima e con un comparto artistico discutibile. 7.2/10

As a new gen pokemon player I dont reccomend this at all. I started the game 4 different times but stopped 3 times just before the elite four. The main part of the game is way too easy while the level gap before the final fights is way too big. I spent almost an hour just grinding exp just to challenge the elite four. The story is fine from what I saw. And before anyone conplains, I have played other older games/remakes and didnt have this much of a problem with them.

It passes. I didn't mind the graphics, my main complaint is just how short it was. Think it took me 5 or 6 hours? Was really simple, the battles were too easy, and the game was over before I even had dinner. I also beat Cynthia's ass in one try, so I'm not sure why people were so scared of her. Maybe she's harder in normal diamond? Either way, disappointing. It's the bare minimum of what's needed for a Pokémon game to be passable.

This is the style of pokemon we critisie so harshly but we have longed for a game like this for so long

Overhated remake ****. It was absolute fun to play the remake. I dont even get the hate on the chibi style.

The reviews of this are way too overcritical and these people need to guide their hatred towards the CURRENT games coming out now which don't follow the actual Pokemon formula whatsoever. Seriously, what timeline is this?? This game is not even that bad. Yeah I wish they had just remade Platinum, but i still did enjoy this game. It is a relatively faithful remaster of Gen 4. The visuals do kind of leave more to be desired, the artstyle looks a bit more like Let's Go than it does Diamond and Pearl. Even so though, somehow things like the battle scenes and backgrounds are better animated than current games today. So what is the issue there that people even have?? If it's anything other than the general artstyle, then they are making things up. This isn't much different than how ORAS handled Gen 3, just a bit more limited, which, that's how D/P actually was. You don't see people review bombing ORAS because it didn't have the Battle Frontier and a bunch of features from Emerald.

I think the game is over hated and this for mostly not understandebil reasons ther let brack down to its not platenum but what is bad is the pokemon following.

It could have done much more for a remake like ORAS did for gen 3 or like HGSS did for gen 2. Overall still fun/ok if you like diamond and pearl its still good it's just missing major platinum improvements like the platinum pokedex.

One word to describe this remake: disappointing. Didn't put anything from Platinum version, making that game still the best game to play in Sinnoh.

assim, a diferença deste pro Legends Arceus (LA) é que voltando ao BD anos depois, literalmente só para as últimas batalhas (ao menos LA ainda joguei um pouco mais, esse eu só fiz a rota pra Liga dos 4 e acabei com a Cinthia hahaha, pqp não acredito que eu tava tão perto do fim e abandonei os dois) ele teve menos diálogos e enrolação, mas é foda, pelo menos a minha nota neste eu não consigo ser tão certeiro porque realmente não lembro de nada de quando joguei, só que não me surpreendeu e prendeu muito a história. Enfim, finalizado apenas a história principal (que também não lembro de nada), claro, sem fazer pós-game. Deixar pós-game pra quando não tiver mais nada para jogar.

This game is just very very bad. I never played the original and I could tell this was a disservice. The graphics are bad even in modern gamefreak standards and the gameplay is just so boring. Now I can’t give it a 1 or 0 because I like the Pokémon format but that is all this is, the most generic possible Pokémon game with nothing to make it stand out. Not to mention the price tag. Actual thievery. Don’t buy this game. I’m sure the original is better and cheaper and doesn’t look like ****.

Dropped the ball, adds nothing new and is a step back from Platinum. Had the perfect opportunity to introduce better graphics, story, Pokedex, etc., and failed to do so. Just play Platinum for the optimal Sinnoh experience.

Getting back into Brilliant Diamond and the Pokemon franchise after a while, Brilliant Diamond does a few things that make it better than the original, but also a few things that aren't as good. The first major change I love is the fact that you no longer require a Pokemon dedicated purely to HM moves any more in your team. With a new feature, wild Pokemon do the HM moves for you instead, which makes team building a lot better. Add on way more polished visuals in battle, and the game looks more up to snuff with more modern games. Plus, being able to run diagonally makes this game a bit easier to help avoid unnecessary battles. My only gripes with Brilliant Diamond are the use of chibi models in the overworld, but then go to the normal, taller character models in battle. I get that this is meant to be stay true to the older games, but it throws me off. Other than that, it doesn't really do all that much to differentiate itself from the OG game, aside from the new artstyle. Still a solid Pokemon game, but in terms of a remake, it's not as good compared to Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, or Fire Red/Leaf Green.

You might as well play Pokemon Platinum because this game is a one on one copy of Diamond. It does nothing to improve on the original aside from the speed. The artstyle is very ugly and the game is too easy. I was quite disappointed by this title.

a safe offering from the creature capturing genre giant, Pokemon could have went bigger but what we got was fine. Pokemon games are a mixed bag for me, some games hold your hand like you are a 4 year old at day care, while others beat you down until you're left bleeding out on the sidewalk, really hated the gym battles that had other types in it. Like why is there an octillery in the electric gym? What are you doing here miss girl??? At the end of the day, its pokemon. It is what it is and you know what to expect

i originally brought a copy of pokemon brilliant diamond from my local ebgames here in australia back when it came out and now hoping to get a copy of pokemon shining pearl but now i am starting to really like the game and no longer consider the games as a faithful remakes but now as a soft reboot of the gen 4 pokemon diamond and pokemon pearl ds games instead i am now enjoying the new underground mechanic as well for the very first time ever.

Graphics is poor, gameplay is okayish with easy battles except the the last champion. Lazy remake of old Pokemon Diamond

Jugué primero este que el original, tiene cosas que no me gustaron, pero también hay muchas cosas que si me gustaron, fue una montaña rusa, tiene calidad inconsistente, creo que depende específicamente lo que te guste, puede ser bueno o malo.

Was a great nostalgia trip to play through, but definitely felt lazy that the content from platinum wasn’t included.

The worst pokemon games hands down. This is litterally one of the laziest remake ever. They litteraly reskinned dp and ignored platinum. Due to this the game is already bad from the start but then adds nothing original. The underground ****, the controls are the worst. following pokemon **** unlike in lets go. This game is awful 0/10

Pokémon brilliant diamond and shining Pearl are pathetically drab and lifeless remakes. Hardly anything changes from its original counterparts, and many features from platinum are missing. If you want to play an interesting sinnoh remake, play legends arceus. If you a more classic sinnoh experience, play platinum. Not this terrible excuse for a remake.

Definitely better than the original DP Definitely worse than Platinum If you think that DP were great games, than there is no reason to denied this one. The proposed was to remake DP not Platinum, I see this games as a good remake with the same vibe as Super Mario RPG for Nintendo Switch, faithfu, but the source material was already good.

This game made me question why I spent $80(aud) on it. The game is fun in very few sections. The rest is just a boring mess.

This game was a massive letdown to the Pokémon community. I remember the trailer first dropped and trying to stay positive as I usually do, but by the time it came out I was disappointed. This was obviously a mere cash grab. One of the big issues is there being bugs that were literally fixed in Platinum. Some people may call them faithful remakes, but I consider it simple copy and pasting. Do yourself a favor and try Platinum where the bugs are fixed and there are many more features.

Didn't even finish the game. It feels like it took the soul out of pokemon. I didn't think you could mess up so an easy remake but they did. Visuals ****, and animations ****.
