Jugué con expectativas medianas, pero me sorprendió, muy buen juego basado en película, incluso siendo corto: no me cansaba de jugar, la Isla calavera fue muy memorable.

I really enjoyed all the movie tie in games, King Kong was just peak for graphics and gameplay when it released on the PS2, knowing it got re-released on next gen was fantastic. The game is highly nostalgic and immersive.

A truly remarkable experience. Although this game is titled as “The Official Game of the Movie”, it differs just enough to find a unique experience. Struggling to survive while trying to find the damsel in distress as Jack, can be horrifying and beautiful at the same time. You must fight giant insects and prehistoric dinosaurs with only loose bones and spears as your weaponry; you find guns at different stages through the varying levels, but ammo can be very limited. Some of these moments are so memorable that I think of them every time any dinosaur related media crops up. Then, there are the Kong missions. Every horror and invincible creature become mosquitos to the new beat-em-up style of combat these levels produce. That one T-Rex that hunted you down through the jungle as a mere human, Kong will serve a left right and jaw snapping finish to put it down. The level and environment design still hold up to this day and worth any time you spend playing through it. One of my favourite games of all time! The only flaw is that there is no replayability once the credits roll. This said, I wouldn’t replace anything from this masterpiece to add it in.

Played it for the 100% achievements. yeah i dont know what to say about this. Very short.

Great King Kong First Person Shooter! Nice Graphics and great Gameplay! On Xbox 360 great!

For me this game is a 5 or a 6. I picked it up at a garage sale for almost next to nothing and i was surprized to see the ratings were actually quite good and it still sells for a respectable **** i thought id give it a try and i was shocked how bad it was. it made me laugh quite a bit. I'd say this is a very simple game with a decent atmosphere. I can give it that and appreciate that a casual gamer would really enjoy the story of the game. If you are a King Kong fan again i could recommend this. As a hardcore game this game is an ultimate joke. You can aim pretty much anywhere on screen, the audio cuts are terrible and there is no option for difficulty. The NPC voice prompt what to do is embarrassing to a gamer that has played a ton of games and the levels were quite linear and simplistic. The graphics are quite outdated. Im not sure why people regard this highly but then again ive played a lot of games so don't really have any special appeal to movies and comics ect. I have the same issue with spiderman games they are also meh. Anyway this game is not for hardcore gamers it is for lighthearted fans of the theme. I only lasted about 45 minutes and despite my score i would not say this game is brutal it just would not have universal appeal and that is the reason i think a buyer beware 5 score is what i gave it. Its a pretty trivial game for fans or casuals only.

I remember when I first played this game all the way back in 2005.I thought thought it was up there with one of my favorite games to play on my Gamecube. It was a fun game that was held back by it's short length. Having played it again on the Xbox 360, it's pretty much how I remembered it, but it definitely has aged with time. The game doesn't really follow the story of the movie it's based on, but it does share some important plot elements such as Ann Darrow being captured by the natives and King Kong climbing the Empire State Building. Throughout the game you'll be playing as either of these two characters :Jack Driscoll and King Kong himself. The game's levels follow a very linear structure where you have to get to the end of each level while fending off against the island creatures and solving puzzles along the way: It's all very straight forward. 90% of the game takes place on Skull Island, and while everything looks a bit lifeless with lots of gray and pale green coloring everywhere, most of the levels feel varied in it's environments and with very little backtracking. In each level you'll be playing as either of these two characters: Jack Driscoll and King Kong himself. The Jack segments play much like a first person survival horror game, where you'll have to fend off against dinosaurs and other creatures with limited limited weaponry you find on the island, from guns that found in supply drop boxes with limited ammo, or the plentiful spears that you'll find yourself using very often. Most of the games puzzles involves trying to find door handles to open doors and using spears to light bushes on fire to clear pathways or to throw spears tipped with bait to lure away predators. The game gives you a great feeling of vulnerability and urgency as you have to fend off against the likes of velociraptors and giant centipedes, all of which can easily kill you. You'll also have to face off against T-Rexes, which are impossible to kill, and all you can do is try to get away. These portions of the game are easily the most intense, and they'll make your heart race. As King Kong, you're able to kill all of the small enemies in one hit and you also face off against T-Rexes, often against multiple ones at a time. There's even a level where you play as Kong where he goes on a rampage in New York City after escaping captivity. While this level is fun to play, your destructive capabilities are only limited to destroying cars. You can't damage buildings or attack pedestrians like you'd expect, and the street feel like big hallways. The game can be beaten in less than 4 hours and the time you beat the game, you feel like there should be more to it. While you do get an interesting art gallery mode, there isn't much reason to replay the game, not even for Xbox Achievements as you can get all of them just by playing through the game. I'm glad I decided to play through this game again. It's still as fun to play now as it was to play back then. When it first came out, it was being sold at the retail price of $50, and let me say that while I like this game, it's not worth $50. Luckily you can just want a copy for just under $10, which is much more better deal, but I'd recommend renting it since it's so short. It's the perfect game to play though the weekend.

Highly underrated! PROS>> Great story, levels are designed well, lots of in game variety with the creatures that are out to get you. Voices are great. A memorable unique adventure, good gaming experience. and has Jack Black in it, with his own voice. CONS>> Some things start getting repetitive, visuals aren't amazing. The journey is great but is still linear.. Like a corridor shooter but with 100% more originality and imaginative. Overall a strong 7, weak 8.

To be honest I stay away from movie games because well...they ****. However this game changed my mind (for only this game). The story follows the movie and you get to play as Jack and King Kong. The game follows the movie but it is a little expanded for more gameplay. For being a game made in 2006, it has incredible graphics. The gameplay is pretty fun and can make you frustrated when you realize you really have to conserve your ammo (as Jack). Also, I liked the audio for Kong and the dinosaurs in the game and when they scream, you may or may not shake a little. Anyway, if you can find the game go check it out for yourself.

One positive, it was colossal in terms of the realistic environment, equivalent to a jungle. The control mechanics were too vague in use, too simple, too annoyingly strange especially when I can come up with better games of 2006 that had a better AI function (Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions which also I don't really like much). But yeah, enemies are quite chaotic and often you get glitches and cheap deaths.

In the early years of xbox, movie licensed games were still a bore, till this game came along. The very essence of survival in this game was astounding and I truly loved it. The lack of a HUD made it more tense as you carefully consider your supplies and ammo. The story follows much of the film, but it doesn't look as bad as other movie licensed games. What it gets wrong is the length. The game is pretty short and I cruised through it in about 6 hours. The King Kong sections however, are fun and truly make you feel powerful. This is a game rarely seen as it shows promise that movie licensed games have a few gems.

Ok if your picking this up in 2012 or beyond its probably only for Gamerscore. If not your crazy or a super hardcore King Kong fan. In fact I wouldn't even recommend it to the latter. Theirs nothing really to explain, other than the game hasn't aged well. I'm not just talking about graphics, the gameplay is just clunky and will frustrate the hell out of you as you plow the campaign for the easy 1000GS. The reason i give it a four, is because I don't want it to effect the user average score too much, as the game looked like it would be quite good fun 7 years ago. Personally I think it would suit a 2/10 as I found the King Kong sequences a little enjoyable. Emphasis on little.

This game is actually just bad. Played it in '08 and did not understand how it got an 80 metacritic, even for it's time. I bought it to get easy 1000/1000 but I simply couldn't. It was such a terrible experience I haven't put it in my 360 since.

This is hands down, the best movie based game ever made. The controls and mechanics are easy to learn and to master, the graphics are top-notch and just look really good and the sound is amazing, the gameplay in both parts of the game are solid and fun. However the game itself is not very long and you play as Kong only a handful of times. But in short this is a great game that is really worth playing.

Length of the game aside, King Kong is one of the most engaging games that I have ever played. If you want to feel desolate and scared, as if you actually are in the game, than play this game. I bought it about a month ago for about 10 bucks. The HUDless screen really adds to the atmosphere. It is probably one of my favorite games that I have, and I have a good 30 including a few call of duties, all the halos, both assassins creeds, bioshock, and the elder scrolls and none even come close to how much i enjoyed this game. It is a launch title, and it is still better than most of the current titles.
