Middle-aged Cutter just doesn’t cut it as a hero. Everything about him screams that he’s old, he’s tired, and instead of going on an adventure, he would’ve preferred to spend the day playing Farming Simulator. [Issue#264,p.54]

A quarter of a century is a long time to develop a sequel to a cult classic and Outcast - A New Beginning certainly shows this in its outdated approach to mechanics, animation, and technical development. The sequel certainly contains a list of non-negligible shortcomings, however, its magical charm that combines a world similar to the Avatar movies and player freedom best known from the Just Cause series overshines many of them! The undying love of the series’ enthusiasts has respawned Cutter Slade for another glide across the stunning world of Adelpha.

Being the heir to the original Outcast is having a very big pair of shoes to fill. A New Beginning falls short, but is in no way a bad game. It could have been so much more, however.

Got this game less than 20 bucks was expecting it to be hot garbage. I think the original had the story and all of the lore but the fun factor and the open world the gameplay here of cutter slade being the urakai helping the talons **** a companion to the original and a sequel in every way. Kudos and here's hoping for a part 3

Who would have thought that after twenty-five years and a rather poor remake, Outcast would get a real sequel? Although not everything is perfect this time either, especially the boring fights and the repetitive side missions keep disrupting the flow of the game, overall the team has created an entertainingly entertaining work that does almost everything right, especially when it comes to movement and freedom, without the bike to reinvent in some area. Technically, things don't look too good, especially on the consoles; improvements are urgently needed, especially in the performance area. Fans of the original will still get their money's worth, but newcomers should first complete a basic course in Talan, despite the glossary.

Outcast: A New Beginning is the sequel to Outcast, the cult video game released in 1999. In this installment, users can explore the alien world of Adelpha, where they can help the Talans in their hardships in the most exciting battles against hordes. of invading robots. This third-person, open-world adventure is developed by Appeal Studios.

There are lots of ways in which Outcast: A New Beginning punches way, way up. The world is elaborate and thoroughly imagined. Characters are interesting. Some of the game’s mechanics and elements will seem familiar, but in this case Outcast: A New Beginning can claim it was there first. Unrewarding combat and some bland mission design aside, Outcast: A New Beginning reminds me of many AA games that I loved despite their flaws.

We are not at the mythical levels of the first episode, it is evident. Outcast – A New Beginning is a sequel without infamy and without praise, net of a nostalgia effect which inevitably has its weight but cannot justify every shortcoming. Strengths and weaknesses are almost equal when it's time to take stock, appreciating it or not depends a lot on how much importance you give to both. This is one of those cases in which the price doesn't play in the work's favor, however with a discount it might be worth giving it a chance because there is only one Cutter Slade.

Outcast – A New Beginning is a fun time and something fans of the first game may enjoy. It has some issues, but it's worth experiencing and protecting Adelpha from anyone who wishes to destroy it.

Perhaps Outcast: A New Beginning was a bit too ambitious for the return of the classic IP, but even with its huge flaws there are still a lot of good things that are worthy of your attention.

For me, Outcast: A New Beginning was really a tug-of-war between “it’s fun,” and “it’s driving me crazy.” While some features stood out to me, like the jetpack and weapon modules, they really couldn’t make up for the lackluster characters, a map that was just too big, and bugs that ruin the experience. Fans of the franchise may want to give it a try to compare to the classic experience as it’s undoubtedly a step up in terms of mechanics. However, it’s not necessarily something I would want to play again myself, which lowers my rating for the game overall, and honestly, restricts me from recommending it to others.

great game. graphics 7/10. story 9/10. gameplay 9/10.
first look was not so exciting, but playing more and more made game looks better. dialogues were great with npc's and characters. weapon upgrade, armor upgrades... great rpg overall, focused more on story than graphics.

I'm huge fan of the original Outcast. Sadly, this game totally lacks the magic, atmosphere or even the art style of the original. This is just a very limited, short and basic open world romp with very little for you to do or see in it. On top of that, the stories and NPC interactions are a joke. Only thing that reminds you of the original game is the suit the hero is wearing. This is not just huge disappointment, this is insult to the original masterpiece and its fans.
