It's what I like to call a concept game; Great ideas but the implementation is a little rough. With a little more polishing this could be an A-title.

The gameplay is solid, but there is very little supporting it, and oh so very much holding it at bay.

Without the 'Bots, Metal Fatigue is just real-time strategy grizzle, with them it's neat, cool, fun, even occasionally challenging.

Love this Game. Three layers of action and a good story. I know it has some issues but overall the Idea is nice, performed pretty well and it's fun to play in general ! Hope there will be a Patch or a steam integration released.

One of the best and most under-appreciated RTS games of all time and in my personal top 5. What it lacked in standard elements common at the time (it was no SC or AoE clone) it more than made up in innovation and, OMG, the combots are the best thing in any strategy game ever created. I hope it gets a sequel or at least a remake like Homeworld. Its biggest flaws were a low detail terrain (technical limitation to allow drilling underground), little base building and not enough vehicle balancing.

RTS game featuring the assembly and customization of giant robots. It also has 3 levels on the map (air, surface, underground) to fight on simultaneously. All in all it is a unique approach for a strategy game not seen elsewhere. Robot graphics, sounds and animations are nice, but the terrain is unfortunately rather dull. The interface is also a bit clunky and the game does have some bugs that never got patched, but overall it is still a great game.

With its catchy graphics and refreshing gameplay ideas, it turned my skepticism into a full-fledged, addictive gaming experience.

A great RTS game with several nice wrinkles to distinguish it from the general morass that has become the norm recently.

One of my favorite games in childhood, and its really a remake worth, or a sequel. I love the way how you build your robots, fight with them and maybe shoot of the arm of another robot to pick it up for you own and continue the fight with it.

Just one more of the group of unremarkable strategy games on the market already.

All in all, Metal Fatigue is a great variation on an all-too-common theme, and will surely provide hours of high-energy robot-smashing fun to anyone willing to see past its minor flaws.
70
A better-than-average RTS game with some compelling elements, marred by multiplayer game balance issues and a sometimes dull single-player game.

An intriguing take on the genre that should have paid more attention to the RTS basics. [Oct 2000, p.130]

SummaryChoose from three warring factions; the Milagro, Neuropa, and Rimtech are competing CorpoNations, each with its own technologies and research capabilities. Build bases, research new weaponry and unit types, and engage the enemy on three different levels simultaneously! [TalonSoft]
