I was really reluctant to play this game thinking its gonna be a open world game thats gonna take 80 hours to complete. To my relief game is not open world and just long enough to not overstay its welcome I finished it around 9.5 hours. Story is good gun fights are not that good since there aint much options for guns. But to my suprise the best aspect of game is driving, it feels better than GTA5.

A real hot mess, the game lags, cut scenes freeze and screen goes black all the time. Real hard to follow the story, the game mechanics itself feel like Mafia III. Played on a GTX 1660TI and AMD R7.

Whenever i play a game i always think to myself beforehand roughly the score i'm going to give said game, while playing Mafia: Definitive Edition i said to myself that i would give it an 8, up until about halfway of the game. Theres a few reasons why the imagined 8 simply wasn't sustained, firstly i think some missions design was poor at best. The mission where you're at the abandoned prison was just straight up garbage. It was okay up until you needed to escape, countless cops spawning everywhere while you have the slowest car imaginable, 2-3 seconds in the cops range and you get a flat tire resulting more often than not in dying and needing to restart, just to get swarmed by the very same cops which is most likely going to pop your tires yet again. Corny as it sounds i'm an experienced gamer, and i played on normal difficulty, yet i had immense trouble with this specific mission. The literal next mission after that one is another complete garbage one, the one where you locate the "cigars". You need to escape in the absolute worst truck i've ever controlled, which can't accelerate properly and sometimes just stops going. Feels like you're driving on ice, and you need to leave a certain area, only problem is that there are roadblocks at literally every single exit point which led me to again, have immense trouble. The good thing about this game is that it's extremely immersive, the music, the old cars and buildings are really something else. The graphics are really on point too and some of the best graphics i've ever seen in video games. The story was also very nice, great characters and a great ending. Realistically i would give this a 7.5 because of said faults. But seeing that's not possible it's going to be a 7.

Amazingly done game with a perfect and complete story one of the only good mafia games out there

If you enjoy mafia films, you should definitely play this game. Lost Heaven looks fantastic, the soundtrack perfectly captures the atmosphere of the 1930s, and the story remains engaging from start to finish. The missions stay varied throughout the entire experience, and the story never feels unnecessarily stretched. With around 15 hours of playtime, the game remains pleasantly compact and avoids unnecessary open-world filler. It’s a game that knows exactly what it wants to be: a great gangster story.

The game definitely stays true to the original. The graphics look really nice and the story is great. They also added a few extra little things on top of the old one. Angelo's story is honestly super interesting and the game just pulls you right in

i am not going to say it's a bad game, graphics are decent, gameplay are okay, but the fact that the missions and gun fights are repetitive and the body fights repetitive are anoying, not bad overal

The game is brilliant. When compared to remakes released in 2020 and beyond, there are massive differences. The game’s graphics, scenery, atmosphere, shadows, lighting, and so on are beyond amazing—they’re extraordinary. As someone who pays close attention to detail in games like this, even the physics are superb. The weapon mechanics are also excellent. However, this remake has been a bit swayed by the Hollywood effect—that is, it’s gone a bit over the top. We’re trying to blow off the turret of an extremely powerful, armoured tank-like vehicle with a Thompson. Aside from this sort of over-the-top stuff, the game is brilliant. What captivated me most were, first and foremost, the graphics, environment design and visual appeal; secondly, the fact that despite not being an open-world game, the streets and such are beautifully designed; and finally, the story being both powerful and serious, and one of the games in the Mafia series where the story takes centre stage. It’s definitely worth a try. Also, if you’re going to buy it, I’d recommend getting the Trilogy pack and playing all three games. A brilliant game.

I went into Mafia: Definitive Edition without many expectations, but what I experienced was a true masterpiece. The story is incredibly well told, and the plot kept me fully engaged from start to finish, to the point where I completed the game in just over a weekend. Another great aspect is how the game expands its world by telling the stories of other mobsters through collectibles, which adds extra depth and makes the experience even more immersive.

it's a great game nice story and i'm glad for the czech dubbingcontrols are great except for the cars they are hard to control but it's an interesting part of the game every game has its own this one has an interesting driving style, i like the supporting characters and the style of storytelling

Very great, I remember playing the original a bit so I had a good grip on the story. The game is very good, story is great as well as gameplay, visuals, pace and events structure, things don't escalate fast and not too slow. It's ending is just like any mafia/gangster movie or film. Played from the 20th March till 23rd March 2026.8 hours and 30 minutes played.

I can’t lie, I don’t know if modern games just have weaker stories or if this game was just way ahead of its time, but the story in this game is amazing. Every little detail feels well made, and playing it gave me the same kind of feeling I had when I first played gta V, with those strong vibes, but at the same time it still has its own unique **** whole 1900s atmosphere is so good, and even the driving became one of my favorite parts. I honestly underestimated this game at first, but it ended up surprising me a **** gameplay is also really solid. I know some people complain about it, but I was never bored. If you ever wondered what being in the mafia was like, this game really gives you that feeling in a fun and cinematic **** I’m saying this as someone who plays a lot of games, I don’t praise every game like this. This was one of the best gaming experiences I’ve had, and it really felt like going back in time.

If you’ve never played this game, it is definitely worth it. The story is amazing. There’s a little bit of Jenness to the shooting and driving but otherwise a very good game.

I had never played the Mafia games before, so I wasn’t sure whether this type of game would suit me. After finishing this one, I realized that I actually needed a game like this. Unlike modern games, with all the “go here, fetch this”, side quests, and massive open worlds. Mafia 1 doesn’t have those elements. After completing it, I realized how tiring modern games can be. Sometimes you just want to play a linear, story-driven game without dealing with side content or open worlds, and that’s exactly what Mafia 1 delivers. Since this is the Definitive Edition, the graphics are quite satisfying. Driving around a city set in the 1900s (even if it takes a lot of your time) is an enjoyable experience. As for the story, it’s told step by step and follows one of the themes we, as Turkish players, tend to enjoy the most: a rise through the criminal underworld. Since I haven’t played the original Mafia 1, I can only comment on this version, and in terms of story, it’s good but not perfect, it is above average. Brotherhood and especially the concept of family are strongly emphasized. And at a certain point, it concludes with the idea that everyone is ultimately responsible for their own fate. Even though I liked the graphics and the story, the game definitely has some major flaws. While these may have been kept to stay faithful to the original Mafia 1 mechanics, it’s now 2026, and not being able to save whenever I want was really frustrating. You fight against 30 enemies with very limited ammo, and if the 29th enemy kills you, you have to start all over again, because there’s no manual save system. Another issue that annoyed me, and that many players agree on, is the driving mechanics. In the name of realism, it becomes more of a chore than a feature. Yes, cars back then weren’t great, but the player experience should still be considered, especially when you spend a significant amount of time driving in the game. Aside from these two issues, there are a few minor problems, but nothing too serious. Overall, the game’s focus on a single story and its avoidance of the modern “let’s offer at least 40 hours of gameplay” approach is refreshing. There’s definitely a strong need for shorter experiences like this. Mechanics: 1/3 Story: 2/3 Graphics: 3/3 Music: 0/1 Initiative: 0/1 6/10

The story is great but the game is such a bore to play trough sometimes having performanc / rendering issues on the ps5 pro and having the most painfully boring gameplay i have played for a while. The game is close to pretty but something feels off the entire time and it just doesnt deliver the story is great but the game just strugling with keeping up ruins the cinematic experience just leaving a poor taste the entire time.

this is a solid game, but a very poor port. i cannot stand when studios release games with control mapping like this. you have to constantly press left alt in combat when other keys are readily available, because you cannot remap any key whatsoever without it replacing the input for completely separate systems. you cannot set the game to let you melee with left click, because melee is a separate command from attack for no sensible reason. you cannot set melee to F like many pc games have it, because then you remove the mapping for the "flip vehicle" input, which is flagrantly only usable while in a car, when you can't melee. people do not want a remake that functions exactly like the original, they want one that functions how they remember it feeling, and this game's controls do not feel modern or even nostalgic, they are just bad. if you are going to make a full priced pc port or remaster ****, then maybe don't require a gamepad for the key mapping to be more than half way sensible. the majority of controls are fully functional modern fps style inputs, so why does the team behind the remaster need to be so lazy in every respect besides the graphics? to be 100% clear, i'm still enjoying the game and it's a nice story, but with the rate of cinematics to very slow walking sequences down the same alley to get to another cinematic, plus the number of sequences that are outright unfair just because i don't have a third arm to press all of the required inputs, it feels that the team behind this completely failed to modernize the game. if you cannot design or decide on a functional control scheme, at least design a system so that we can functionally remap it.

Mafia: Definitive Edition (2020) is a full remake of the 2002 classic, rebuilt from the ground up with modern graphics, updated mechanics, and expanded storytelling. You play as Tommy Angelo, a taxi driver who gets pulled into organized crime in the 1930s, experiencing a cinematic rise through the mafia. This was a really fun experience overall. The story is the strongest part of the game — it’s engaging, cinematic, and very straightforward, moving from one mission to the next without unnecessary distractions. It feels like playing through a movie, and it keeps you hooked the whole time. The open world isn’t its strongest aspect. There’s not much to do outside of missions besides collecting a huge amount of collectibles, and some elements feel reused from Mafia III. Still, the game makes up for it with its attention to detail — things like fuel, speed limits, police behavior, and driving mechanics make the world feel more grounded. The stealth mechanics are solid, and the overall gameplay complements the story well. I like to think of this game as a less content-heavy GTA, but with way more focus on immersion and realism. The atmosphere is so well done that it honestly makes you wish you lived in that era — suits, cars, and all. The game runs smoothly and looks great thanks to the full remake treatment. Visuals, animations, and overall presentation feel modern and polished. That said, there were some buggy missions here and there. Nothing game-breaking, but a few moments didn’t work as smoothly as expected and could break immersion a bit. Most achievements are tied to story progression, along with a few extra interactions you need to complete. There is also one missable achievement, so you have to be a bit careful during your playthrough. The rest of the completion comes from collecting a huge number of collectibles, which can get very boring and repetitive. The full completion takes around 30 hours, but because of the grind, I wouldn’t really recommend going for the Perfect unless you’re fully committed — the story is the highlight, not the grind.

Melhor Mafia, historia solida e bem feita, bons personagens bons plots, e missões não deixam brecha pra parar, ou seja, facil jogar por mais de 2 ou 3 horas sem parar, unica reclamação são a forma das missões, que simplesmente quebram sua imersão, mas de resto, um otimo jogo.

A honest and good remake. I barely know the og version but i would say this introduced me to play other mafia sequels cus of how well the story telling is.

I don’t know how good the classic Mafia was, but this game gave me almost the same feeling I had in my childhood watching Once Upon a Time in America or Scarface. Anyway, if you like the aesthetics of the 1930s, you’ll definitely enjoy the atmosphere this game brings you into. Totally recommended.

There is wasted potential due to unnecessary enthusiasm for racing. I believe that after 2-3 quests, you need to participate in an almost impossible race, which I've never wanted to engage in during a "mafia" game.

I completed the game on Classic difficulty, which was incredibly challenging at times. If it weren't for the difficulty, the game would be very easy, but on this difficulty, it's sometimes too challenging (for example, the race mission). The shooting is acceptable, as is the vehicle control. In some missions, you shoot an enemy in the head, but they remain alive in the cutscene. It's a silly convention, but you have to live with it. Overall, the game is good. 7/10.

Mafia I: Definitive Edition es una excelente reinterpretación de un clásico. Su mayor virtud es una historia bien contada, madura y coherente, que se siente como una película de mafias jugable. Los personajes están bien construidos y el ritmo narrativo mantiene el interés de principio a **** ambientación de Lost Heaven está muy cuidada y transmite perfectamente la época, apoyada por un gran apartado artístico y una banda sonora que refuerza la inmersión. A diferencia de otras entregas, el juego apuesta por una experiencia más lineal, algo que le sienta bien a su **** el plano jugable, cumple sin destacar en exceso. El combate y la conducción son correctos, aunque algo rígidos en ciertos momentos. No innova, pero tampoco estorba. Conclusión:una remasterización sólida que respeta el original y mejora su presentación, aunque sin llegar a ser sobresaliente por jugabilidad.Nota final: 8/10

This is the best Mafia game I’ve played so far. While it’s not a true open-world game, the level of detail and visual presentation are impressive and genuinely immersive. Overall, this is a well-crafted Mafia experience with strong atmosphere, great attention to detail, and grounded gameplay. Even without a fully open world, it succeeds at what it sets out to do.
